Complete CPAP Care ripoff

In Ottawa their storefront is called Complete CPAP Care, and it's at 3712 Innis Rd in Orleans, and also at the Carlingwood Shopping Centre. I assumed that what they charged me would be normal and customary and covered by my insurance. That was not the case. For CPAP in Ontario, you are required to pay a little over $100 as a Co-pay, and the Assistive Devices Program pays the rest. For me, the copay amount was covered by my work health insurance, and I assumed the other amounts Complete CPAP charged me would also be covered. This is not the case, and they don't tell you that. Complete CPAP charged $300 to rent the machine for a month or two to see if I needed it. Canada Life only covered $100 of that, and that was only after my appeal. Complete CPAP charged $150 'dispensing' fee, which was not covered at all by Canada Life, probably because it was about 15 seconds of adjusting the pressure on the machine. So for a CPAP that I SHOULD have not have had to pay anything for, I am $350 out of pocket. And if you don't have insurance, instead of paying just the $110 co-pay, you will be $560 out of pocket. My advice -- just get your doctor to prescribe the machine. Even if it doesn't end up being what you need, at least you are not paying hundreds of dollars to these blood suckers.
