6 Months, Complete silence.
I placed my order for a candle on January 10, 2025. Keep in mind that the shop page says "YOU'LL GET IT WHEN YOU GET IT (ABOUT 3-5 DAYS)" when finalizing an order.By February 1st I had gotten completely nothing from them, so I sent them an email using the customer service section of their website. This email provided my order details and all necessary details, and I got no response.On June 27th I get an email out of the blue telling me that my order has just been shipped. It arrived on the 30th.Yes, I got my candle, but it took almost 6 months to arrive, during which I was told absolutely nothing.

Their orders never ship and their customer service never gets back to you. Companies like these are exactly why I always use a credit card with excellent fraud protection when I buy online. I had a refund within 48 hours of my dispute.

never buy from decent candles
if i could rate a zero, i would. never buy from this company. bought a candle september 15, 2024. waited until october 10th to email about any updates such as shipping, estimated shipping times, etc, or if i should request a refund. zero response, no traffic at all. emailed again on october 15, one month after purchase, requesting a refund. no traffic, had to dispute the charge with my bank to receive money back. then, on december 2nd, around three months after purchase, i get an email that my order was shipped out. however, it has been so long that the tracking number is invalid or just incorrect. three months of silence and then shipping? terrible customer service for a candle i can get better quality at yankee. never buying from again, i recommend no one else purchase either.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. We waited a month after ordering with no confirmation. Emailed for a follow up with no response. Reached out twice via instagram and were finally met with a nasty response after asking if we should dispute the charge with the bank. I get that the attitude is part of their brand but customer service like that is not how you get a repeat purchase. I don’t care how good they smell when we get them, we will not be ordering again.

Love the design and the candle is solid. My issue is that communication was slim to none and it took months to get here. I ordered in August and I just got it this week. That communication issue and turn around needs to be fixed.

idk why everyone else is having problems, admittedly it took 3 weeks to ship, but i understand that with them being florida based, the hurricanes could slow them down. i emailed them and received a tracking number the next day. after that it arrived in 2-3 days. the product itself is exactly as described. it smells amazing and lasts a long time. recommended as long as you dont mind waiting a while for shipping lol

Advertising is aggressively, factually incorrect.
Literally just looked at their advertising on site, where they claimed all customers don't know anything about candles and that everything on site and all their products are the best you can buy.Went on 15 minutes of basic research after seeing this. Sources had nothing to do with Decent candle and were all 3rd party information. Most of what they advertise is inaccurate, simply factually incorrect after doing basic research. Much of their site advertising is low-bar funny, which I can appreciate and initially got me to check out their site. The first glaring issue was simply their 'technical' break down of their wax compound used in their candles, saying paraffin (petrol byproduct) wax burns longer than the other waxes used in candles. I thought that just sounded off, and I'm not an expert so that was what initially triggered a brief look around for further info. The clearest source to sum it up is here, if you care to check it out: Candlewic's Article on "mastering candle wax: soy, beeswax, and paraffin advantages"I understand this misinformation may be considered minor (but when this is a major advertising point, I beg to differ), but if they blatantly are wrong about this, it's clear they will be lying about other aspects of their products too.Don't let their high-energy in your face "sigma" advertising fool you into thinking they have any technical authority on what they are trying to sell. I didn't even make a purchase because of my initial research. Don't listen to what they say on their site. Go buy cheaper, higher quality candles from an in-person store near you.

socials are key
no communication through the website is effective--commenting on their social media gets their attention. like all of the other reviews here, i ordered through the website, got an order confirmation, and paid for a 3-5 business day shipping, and then never received shipping confirmation. i looked them up and found out that multiple people had the same experience BUT some people found some luck with them after publicly commenting on social media. i commented on their instagram and INSTANTLY got a DM asking for my order number and only THEN got tracking info emailed to me. in my opinion, it's either a lowkey shady company or one that's overwhelmed after recent social media hype. either way, i hope the growing pains ease and logistics get smoother.

I see many people have the same issue as me. They sure took my money quick but still haven't sent what I ordered and it's been over a week! I'm about to call the BBB on them! I would give 0 stars if I could.

Like most everyone here I also have waited over a month for my order. I sent a couple emails to inquire about it with zero response. So today I decided to send a message via messenger to them asking what the deal was and if they didn't respond/resolve the issue I was going to report them for fraud. I got a colorful response as seems their norm for communicating (don't really care) I told them frustratingly to ship it anyway. They told me they cancelled the order and suck a fat one, then immediately blocked me from messaging them and accessing their facebook page.tl;dr: stay the f away from these fools.
