Nice but useless
The people answering the phone are very efficient, friendly and try to help. However, there seems to be no guarantee you will get a tradesperson to you, despite repeated assurances they are "on their way". Waited for two days with no hot water and no heating while not calling anyone else believing someone from ERG was coming.

SCAM LONDON COMPANY WHO TAKE JOBS FROM GOOGLE AND GET LOCAL CONTRACTORS TO CARRY OUT THE WORK, THEN DONT PAY THEM.THEY GET YOU TO DO AS MUCH WORK POSSIBLE IN A SHORT PERIOD KNOWING THEY'LL NEVER PAY YOU, AND YOU WILL STOP AT SOME POINT.THEY'LL THEN FIND ANOTHER CONTRACTOR TO SCREW WHAT THEY CAN.I HAVE STARTED PROCEEDINGS TO RECOVER MY LOSSES AND EMENSE TIME ON THIS MATTER. I AM WAITING FOR A COURT WRIT. FAILING THAT THE SHERRIFS ARE GOING IN.THE ENTIRE TEAM ARE IN ON IT.THE TWO WOMEN WHO WORK IN ACCOUNTS (THEY KNOW WHO THEY ARE) ARE CROOKS WHO NEVER ANSWER CALLS OR EMAILS.

Stupidly paid them on the phone yesterday for service of boiler today. No sign of them yet and they can't tell me if and when their man will turn up. Nor any response from their various phone lines

£162 for a 5 minute check
Charged £162 for a 5 minute check of my boiler which in reality was just telling the engineer about the problem and then checking the outside relief pipe. Their website states no call-out charge without completed works. Now I know nothing needed completeing but it was 5 minutes and the engineer was local. £162 is just robbery. Avoid at all costs.

ERG are parasites.
The engineer who did the work was fantastic, but ERG are parasites, avoid them at all costs and use a local tradesperson.

Appalling service
Appalling service, spent a whole 3 minutes by looking inside a cupboard, went out side and looked at the boiler flue and said he couldn't do the job then charged £174 for not doing the job.Companies like this giving a bad name to the trade, they need shutting down.

Worst possible service ever !!
Worst possible service ever !!! Would give -10 stars if I could. They state on their website, no call out charge but what they mean by that is 'no call out charge but we'll charge you £135 an hour' so the " free callout" is an hourly appointment although they dont give you a set time just between the hours of. Purposefully misleading and carefully worded phone script to swindle you of money. I was automatically billed £162 after an engineer turning up on my " free call out" to literally look at the gas pipe on the wall , he further stated that if I had wanted to go through with works after, he didn't have the time slot to do them as he'd only been put down as an hour. Therefore further alluding that it was a callout as he had no idea what any possible works would entail. I had several very frustrating phone call complaints to their customer service department with them stating that that hour was chargable. Clearly they get a lot of them because the advisor was all scripted up ready to reply. Shameful company which has purposefully misrepresentated their services.

Badly let down
Badly let down. Was promised same day appointment, explained it was for elderly relatives I was visiting miles away from my own home, was told would attend as soon as possible and definitely no later than 16:15. After waiting all day, received a call at 16:00 to say they couldn't attend that day and would be two days before anyone came out. Too late to get someone else that day, so had to take distressed elderly relatives home with me for the night, then make long return journey next day. Got another company next day who came out promptly and charged a small fraction of what ERG had proposed.

Dishonest
Dishonest. They don’t repair boilers. They take your money and send someone clueless who tells you that your boiler doesn’t work and maybe get someone else out to repair it. Just about to report to trading standards. Avoid

Avoid avoid avoid .company praying on elderly couple .my parents contacted this company when their boiler broke .fitter came out switched boiler off and said he would be back next day to fit new part .a week later they were still left with no heating or hot water .they tried contacting but no answer .in end they paid British gas to come out and the problem was a completely different part but by then they had took £170 pound off them .we have contacted the company but apparently no managers work there in week and the staff we did speak to were as helpful and as much use as a secondhand dildo

Gas engineer was a top bloke but this company are absolutely disgusting!!! £167 for some one to tell me what repairs need doing and then the cost on top . I suggest contact a local gas engineer and not get your pants pulled down.

Avoid at all costs
Avoid at all costs, absolute reap off. I got charged 225 + Vat for an enginner that not only did not know how to service the boiler but also broke it.

This company is appalling and despicable. They are money-orientated only, customer service is non existent, they charge well above what they should, and they are beyond inefficient. Avoid this company at all costs, they are scammers.

Wish I had read all of this £170 to have a gas cooker fitted didn't provide a receipt charge £30 FOR A £5 bayonet fitting which the engineer spent a hour at screw fix getting6 hour late getting to the jobWill be contacting the ombudsmen and trading standards as this company needs highligting and investigation

An engineers perspective
All this company does is go down the gas safe register ringing each one till they get an engineer that will go. A customer could just do that themselves it would be the same end result but far cheaper. These sorts of companies are a scam, they are just middle men, they don’t have any gas or plumbing credentials, they don’t really know the difference between boilers when they are trying to book you for a job, example if it’s a combi or system boiler. All they do is phone up an engineer for you and you pay monthly for the privilege, it is then down to the reliability of the engineer. I am a gas safe registered engineer and they phone me often trying to get me to do jobs for them. I always think well how can you guarantee appointments if all you are doing is ringing every plumber in the yellow pages and hoping one goes. Personally I would tell my friends and family not to get involved with this type of company

Best to avoid
Best to avoid. Took money for work they couldn't fulfill due to lateness and policies. Booked an engineer to come out to fix a gas pipe, I took a day off work for the engineer. They were over 6 hours late so I waited in over 10 hours for them to actually arrive, I was told engineers can't come after 5 but he came at half 6 (no need for me to take a days unpaid work). When the engineer arrived they warned me they likely wouldn't be able to complete the job as they can only work until a certain time, they worked for 30 minutes and said they'd come back so to call the booking team the following day for more details. The next morning I was charged a full hours work (£170) as that's the minimum hours they charge, even though the engineer was running so late he couldn't work a full hour. It took 2 more days of calling the booking team to get any further information at which point they quoted me another 2-4 hours work and £80 for parts which would of cost less than £10 to obtain. Before this quote I made a formal complaint about all the problems of lateness, lack of communication and charging for work that they couldn't fulfill. The emailed reply days later was really awful, answered one problem and was formatted REALLY badly as if a child had written it. To top it off I got another large company in to have a look, they fixed it in a day (late but did their job) and it cost £120! If further works would like to contact me my order number was 393114.

Let me down on the day
Let me down on the day, at the end of the 4-hour window they'd given when I'd booked gas safety check 5 days earlier. Really poor organisation & communication. Avoid them.
