I recently received a denial from Home…
I recently received a denial from Home Choice Warranty for a claim that clearly falls within the scope of my coverage. The policy terms support it. The circumstances justify it. Yet the response was a flat-out “no.”📑 After reviewing the fine print and speaking with representatives, it’s clear this isn’t just a technicality—it’s a pattern. And I’m not alone.💬 I’ve heard from others facing similar denials under the same provider. That’s why I’m now taking steps to pursue legal review and explore the possibility of a class action lawsuit. If this insurer is systematically denying ethically and contractually valid claims, it’s time to hold them accountable.⚖️ If you’ve experienced a similar denial—or if you’re an attorney with experience in insurance litigation or class actions—I want to connect. Let’s make sure fairness isn’t optional, and that policyholders aren’t left powerless.📢 It’s time to push back. #InsuranceJustice #ClassAction #DeniedClaim #ConsumerRights #EthicsMatter #HoldThemAccountable

Very poor experiences over multiple years.
It is interesting to me that google reviews give The Home Service Club a 4.7 rating, yet the Trustpilot average is 1.3. I'm siding with the Trustpilot. I've been with The Home Servie Club for over 3 years. The home is in a rural area - which I discussed with the company before signing with them. The concern was whether they could reliably find professsionals to perform timely service at my home. They, of course, said there would be no problem. 11/14/2022 - sent in a claim for a freezer that stopped working. The claim remains open - no vendor was ever assigned. 1/23/2023. Garbage Disposal - no vendor ever assigned.9/24/2024. Electrical system. One vendor was assigned, then another one. I have no idea who got paid but the but I can't say the service was particularly good. Here we are in 2025 and the water heater died. My father-in-law is 86 and is medically fragile. I asked to use a plumber that we knew could fix the problem the same day, but was denied. HSC assigned a company and said they would come in 2 days (a Sunday). When I called the vendor, they indicated they would not be able to get to home until 2 more days (Tues). This was untenable for us because of the medical condition of my father-in-law. I requested again that the company let us use the reimbursement process and get our own plumber in - again the answer was no. I asked to speak with a supervisor and was told I would receive a call back that day. 4 days later - still no call. Look, all home warranty companies have to make money and they do it by enrolling vendors with whom they can control pricing. But HSC is not a company that is easy to work with. They will drop the ball on assigning a vendor, they assign appointment times that the vendors can't meet, and they are very difficult to work with for reimbursement. My contract expires in 2026. I will not be renewing with HSC.

I had some electrical outlet outlets…
I had some electrical outlet outlets that did not work and a light that did not work. They sent out non-Electrician for an HVAC contractor stated that I had broken wires in the wall. You won’t the home service club denied the claimI guess HVAC contractors have x-ray vision so I hired Electrician. I had a bad GFI and in the light, I had A bad ballast This is the worst company I’ve ever worked with save your money. Do not use this company!

The absolute worst home warranty…
The absolute worst home warranty company of all time, basically they are a scam. Over 75 days without my air conditioner working. They send some guy to my home who has zero clue what he is doing. He completely destroyed my air conditioner, now it cost me $12k to fix on my own. Had to replace the entire unit. Now HSC is not returning my calls or emails. Went to BBB and they said they didn't care. Don't waste your money here.. do your homework.. don't fall for their fake google reviews.. check BBB.. absolute trash..

BUYER BEWARE! Think Twice before buying a Home Service Club (HSC) Home Warranty:
I’ve been a customer of The Home Service Club (HSC) since 2019, paying annual premiums in good faith. Over the years, I’ve only filed three claims. Unfortunately, my third claim was the straw that broke the camel’s back. After my HVAC system failed in May 2025, HSC showed their true colors—denying my repair claim. The compressor in my HVAC unit stopped working. I have had an independent HVAC maintenance plan since 2015 and my system is serviced twice a year (winter/summer). Keep in mind, HSC does not provide maintenance service, just repair.5-Reasons WHY you should THINK TWICE before buying a Home Service Club (HSC) Home Warranty:1. They’ll look for ANY excuse to deny a major claim, even when you follow the contract. My HVAC compressor went out. They did not claim that my unit wasn’t maintained, just that it was - “poorly maintained.”2. Appeals are a joke—they ignored my 4-years worth of maintenance plan contract receipts as evidence of regular maintenance. 3. Wasted time and stress: Multiple technician visits, weeks of back-and-forth with case managers, only to be left with a broken HVAC system in July.4. When you need them most - they are NOT there for you! I spent part of my recovery from surgery without a working HVAC system.5. Save yourself the headache and just put money aside in a home repair savings fund instead.

Former customer, DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY
We were a customer of The Home Service Club for a while made monthly payments but when we needed a repair on our dryer, paid the service fee of $75.00 and was told the window for the technician to arrive would be between 8am -4pm at 4:17pm I called the Home Service Club Warranty customer care center to report the problem that the technician never showed up for the repair or didn't call to reschedule. The representative asked me to give it more time. I explained to her respectfully ''I gave him 8hrs of my time'' and we need to reschedule. Well she gave me the phone number and the claim# to call Whirlpool directly and reschedule. Well come to find out the CLAIM# (from home Service Club) is absolutely useless!!!!! Whirlpool doesn't have anything to do with that claim# means NOTHING!!! So after talking to the Whirlpool Representative she was actually able to give me an actual extended warranty on my dryer for pennies a month, and if it can't be fixed they will buy me a new one. BASICALLY, DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY WITH THIS COMPANY!!!! I called the Home Service Club company back and have requested my $75.00 be refunded back into my account because I never received service to repair my dryer, I also have closed my policy with them since they can't do as they claim!!!! I will also be contacting the BBB to report them!!!

The Home Service Club is Terrible
Researched home warranty companies and saw Home Service with good reviews decided to give them a try after 18 months with no claims, went through the proper protocals submitted a claim only to have the this company deny the claim for replacement of a heating element on furnace heater. This came during a time of inclement weather where I was unable to go back and forth hassling over a repair that is stated covered under their contract. They stated they denied my claim due to the HVAC being under manufacturer warranty only to find out the manufacturer did not warranty the HVAC because the unit was nearly 10 years old. This company robs and steals honest families and home owners money. This company will not be their for you in your time of need and are only out for the money. This company will transfer you back and forth then assign a case manager only to look for reasons to deny the claim. CONSUMER BEWARE AVOID AT ALL COST!!! CANCELLING MY HOME WARRANTY IMMEDIATELY!!!

Not a trustworthy company for your home needs
I have been with this company for a few years, and every time I filed an issue, it was a struggle to get it resolved. Initially, I thought the problem was with the technicians, but eventually, I realized the real issue was with the Home Service Club itself. This is a terrible company. They are only interested in taking your money and will find every excuse to deny coverage when you need it most. Recently, my water heater broke, and they didn’t send anyone for an entire week. Finally, with their permission, I had a local technician replace it, but they refused to reimburse the cost. This is not a trustworthy company for your home needs. Do yourself a favor and stay away from them!

HSC scam…
HSC sent Prosolutions Appliance Repair to repair our range. The problems are the con trol board is dead and a nut holding one burner knob in place is broken. The tech took pictures of our clean stovetop and oven and the label. He pulled the loose knob off to see the broken plastic nut. After making a phone call and speaking in a foreign language he determined the control board is also broken. Never did he pull the control board cover off to see if there is any obvious damage or do any testing. I gave him our $65 copay and he left.Six days later I look at the HSC website and see they show an appointment has been scheduled only. They have no indication Prosolutions has been here. I called Prosolutions and the lady who answered the phone says "I'm working on yours now. Our techs pictures show you have grease buildup on your stovetop which HSC insurance doesn't cover. We are going to charge you $222 to clean your stove so we can make the needed repairs."Next I filed a complaint with HSC. Their online system told me they would assign someone to my complaint and within 24 hours they would contact me with that person's contact information. 24 hours ended on Tuesday or later so I called Thursday to get contact information. I called that person to find out she supposedly emailed her contact info {not in spam folder either}. She reiterated they wouldn't repair the stove until it is cleaned by Prosolutions. She said she would forward the pictures to us which hasn't happened by Friday afternoon. The scam IS she won't accept photos from us that show the stovetop is clean!!

The Home Service Club inefficient and deceptive
If it were possible to give less than one star, I would have done that. The Home Service Club is both inefficient and deceptive. I called "The Home Service Club" to know if my bathroom exhaust fan was covered under my Warranty Contract. I was informed that it was covered, and they went further to create a claim for me. The claim/service was assigned to a company for Technician to come access and repair. As a result, I paid $75 for "service fee" when the assigned Technician reported at my property. The Technician just did visual inspection and promised to come back after obtaining approval from "The Home Service Club". However, to my utmost surprise and disappointment, I received an email from "The Home Service Club" in which they shamelessly stated, "After careful review, we regret to inform you that your claim is not covered".

Choice Home Warranty (address Home…
Choice Home Warranty (address Home Service Club of California, Inc, in San Diego) has no customer service unless you count the recorded message voice. If you try to cancel your warranty you are directed to leave your phone number to save your place in the cue. I’ve done this 4 times in the last 48 hours and no one has returned my calls. I’ve tried calling other departments who have live people answer, but they won’t even listen and either transfer your call to Customer Service or actually hang-up on you!I’ve NEVER been with any company that refuses to allow you to cancel their services. Why isn’t that illegal?!

Their Salespeople Are Inveterate Liars
After being assured that there would be no problem in finding techs to fix problems, my air conditioner issue went unresolved. HSC was completely uncaring and unreliable. Don't waste your time or your money. I've tried several home warranty companies, and this is the worst yet.

Good Luck Getting Paid!!!
Good Luck Getting Paid!!!I'd give a zero star if possible....as a service provider, we have been trying to get paid since November, 2023. We have submitted no less than 20 attempts and get the run around. Impossible to get a human who can assist. What a scam. Contractors BEWARE!!

How to get duped
When I only could give 0 stars – Here’s why: In 10/3023 I bought 2 five-year HSC warranty contracts for 2 rentals. At one rental I filed a claim with HSC on Monday, January 8th 2024 in the morning, because the water heater seemed to be not working. A technician will contact me, HSC said. When NO technician contacted me, on Tuesday I called the technician’s company and asked, when they will inspect the water heater and the answer was: Friday. I told them that is not acceptable to have no hot water for so long in the winter. Finally, they sent a technician on Wednesday. Thursday, I asked HSC, they declined the claim because of corrosion. The technician told me, that he didn’t mention corrosion in his report. It is not acceptable to take so much time for a decision - and for no corrosion stated in the report. I canceled the contract. For the other rental I canceled the contract as well – with no claim, because I don’t need a contract for nothing. I paid for 2 five-year contracts for two rentals $3,899.70 and after only 3 month and no approved claim they only refunded $2,313.96. The difference is and I paid: $1,585.74. That’s why I can NOT recommend Home Service Club.

Poor and unethical claim service
We have the "Comprehensive Plan" home warranty policy with The Home Service Club / Choice Home Warranty. Had to replace our washing machine which was covered by the policy. Company agreed to pay the claim and that they would send us a check. We needed a new machine so went out immediately and bought one figuring we'd apply the claim settlement once we received the check. Check never came and instead we got an email a couple weeks later with an attached electronic gift card to Lowe's. We contacted Home Service Company (HSC) and they acknowledged it was their mistake that they didn't issue a check but that there was nothing they could do to change it. We them went to Lowe's but they would not accept the gift card as payment to our credit balance. After 4 or 5 more calls to HSC we continued to get the run around from every claim person we talked to and all of them refused to let us talk to a supervisor or manager and even suggested they don't have access to the address or phone numbers of their corporate offices. Horrible, horrible service! So now I'm stuck having to go buy something else from Lowe's if I want to be reimbursed for our claim. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

I put in a claim as my heater was very loud,a technician came out and said it needed replacing he filled out what he had to sent photos on one it was wet from being sprayed with water and according to who ever mistakenly thought it had corrosion and rust even though it didn’t the denied my claim even after the technician called and said it wasn’t

Don't EVER purchase this insurance
This company does everything they can to deter your claim. There is a list of grievances but I'll just state the latest. I had the furnace looked at since it wouldn't turn on. After about two weeks I finally got someone they contacted to come by. They were able to get it going but said if it goes down again, it was the "mother board" (not sure the name. something like mother) that needed replacement. It did go down about a week later. I called HSC twice and each time was told they were going to OK the return of the heater company to finally get the "board"in, they still haven't done so. It's been another two weeks in the cold. The heating company themselves told me this is a common tactic to get you to terminate your contract when you might have years left on it. This is one of about four or five times I've struggled to get the work that they cover to be completed. My advice: DON'T EVER BUY THEIR INSURANCE.

Wish I could give them negative stars
Wish I could give them negative stars. Bunch of crooks. Don’t know how I fell for them. Absolutely ridiculous service. I already put in a cancellation as of today. They deducted whatever they paid me from my remaining refund. Any time you put in a request, it takes days and then send someone who is not experienced at all. And then deny your claim. This is their process. They claim best on their website for many years. B.S. Absolutely absurd.

HOME WARRANTY SERVICE CLUB IS THE WORST
MARTIN S. DAVIDFACEBOOK · Shared with PublicDO NOT SIGN WITH ( THE HOME CLUB WARRANTY SERVICES).ONE MONTH AGO OUR WASHER STOPPED WORKING. THEY KEPT PROMISING A TECHNICIAN WILL ARRIVE. SO FAR, IT IS JUST AN EMPTY PROMISE. THE WORST HOME WARRANTY INSURANCE I EVER DEALT WITH. AND THEY HAVE THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. WHEN YOU CALL THEM, THEY TELL YOU HOW SORRY THEY ARE ABOUT YOUR SITUATION, THEY SAY THEY CAN NOT FIND A TECHNICIAN TO DO THE REPAIRS. THE QUESTION IS: IF A WARRANTY COMPANY DOES NOT HAVE TECHNICIANS TO DO THE REPAIRS, HOW DOES THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA ALLOW THEM TO BE LICENSED IN THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA. THESE COMPANIES CHARGE CUSTOMERS THEIR MONTHLY FEE BUT, WHEN IT COMES TO REPAIRS, THEY ACT AS IF THEY DON'T KNOW YOU, AND THEY KNOW THAT THEY DON'T HAVE TO ANSWER TO ANY AUTHORITIES. I FILED WITH THE CALIFORNIA INSURANCE COMMISSIONER, THIS OFFICE IS JUST A NAME, THEY DON'T HAVE ANY AUTHORITY OVER SCAMMERS LIKE THESE WARRANTY COMPANIES.
