POOR QUALITY - POOR SERVICE - DO NOT RECOMMEND

We purchased a sofa and two chairs in October 2023. We finally got them in December 2023. The chairs came damaged and we had to have them replaced right away. They are easily marked up due to really soft wood used in the frame work. For the sofa, after just over 2 years of periodic use, the fabric has recently started tearing near the seam. We purchased their Life Happens Plan which, according to their own paperwork, includes coverage for "Punctures, cuts, tears, or rips from a specific event"; however, they are refusing coverage and cited this "Based on our findings, we regret to inform you that this claim is not covered under the service contract. The condition reported involves seam separation, which is identified as a non-covered condition under the service contract." So, they're calling it seam separation to avoid covering the poor manufacturing quality of their product. This has been a HUGE disappointment in their furniture and it's quality for something that is rarely used.

Steer Clear: Joybird Doesn’t Stand Behind Their Products

We bought a Joybird sofabed in October 2024, and the experience has been extremely disappointing. The customer service was great before we purchased, responsive, helpful, and attentive, but once the sale was done, that completely disappeared. For a sofa at this price point, I expected far better quality and support. We had guests stay with us and used the sofa bed only three times before the mechanism broke. Three uses. That’s unacceptable for a product that’s literally designed to function as a bed.Despite how little time we’ve owned the sofa and how minimally it was used, Joybird has refused to help or take responsibility. No meaningful solution, no accountability. What’s especially frustrating is how differently Joybird seems to treat customers. Influencers appear to get amazing service and support, but everyday paying customers? Apparently not worth the same effort. If you’re considering Joybird, I strongly recommend steering clear and spending your money elsewhere. The quality does not match the price, and the post-purchase customer service is terrible.

Intense Fruity Chemical Smell

My first couch from Joybird from 2018 is amazing. But the Lewis Corner Sectional I had delivered in December 2025 was absolutely terrible. Damaged foam, wobbly frame, stain on one cushion upon delivery. But for me, the absolute biggest concern was the horrible smell of the cushions! Not a typical off-gassing or "new furniture smell." It was an intense chemical fruit smell that would permeate your clothes and blankets. I started getting migraines.Luckily, after a week of back and forth, the company agreed to pick up the defective couch and give me a full refund. Maybe it was a Christmas miracle, but they did cancel my Affirm loan, so I got back everything I had paid. For that, I give Jackie in the Warranty department 5 stars! She made it right. But I will never buy a Joybird again. And since they are owned by Lazy Boy, I do not think I will buy from them again either!

Shady Practices, Zero Accountability

Buyer Beware: Shady Practices, Zero AccountabilityOur experience with Joybird was deeply disappointing—because of how the company operates once they have your money.Joybird is optimized to get you to buy—and then leave you stranded. Even if the color is wrong. Even if the product can’t physically be delivered. Even if the mistake isn’t yours. We purchased two couches from a Joybird store. At no point during the sales process were we told that the orders were non-returnable. When the couches arrived, one of them did not match the fabric swatch we were shown in the store. The other one never even made it into our home—the delivery team could not get it up the stairs. When we reached out to Joybird, they refused to accept a return, refused a refund, and refused to take responsibility—on either couch. Instead, they pointed us to fine print on their website about their company policies. It would be one thing if:- The sales associate had clearly explained that all orders were final. - We were pointed to explicit fine print before purchasing.- The product delivered actually matched what we were shown. But none of that happened. There are many other furniture companies that treat customers far better and stand behind what they sell. I strongly recommend choosing one of them instead.

Sleek design and great shelf space

Sleek design and great shelf space. The finish looks beautiful in person. It wasn’t quite as easy to set up as I hoped, but overall it’s a stylish, sturdy piece that works well in my space.

Nice marketing effort, nothing behind it

This company does not communicate. I deliberated and spent quite a bit on a chair that had to be custom made. The status of my order never changed, though I was charged the full amount. Week before it was to be delivered I called numerous times for my delivery date/time. No one knew anything and said it would take 5-7 days for info to be made available. Um, what? They would be after their outset delivery date and why don’t customer service people have access to shipping dates. Turns out they did. It was shipped a month ago and they just left it. Never told me or I’d have called right then. The escalation person who was not inclined to talk on the phone said it may or may not be lost so would I like to order a replacement (another 6 weeks and the exact same level on non communication) or just cross my fingers that after a month of being shipped it’ll just somehow show up. It’s a freaking recliner, not a tube of toothpaste. Customer service was undertrained, unempowered, repetitive and patronizing. I canceled the order and will never do business with them again. I’m you going to go find someone that copied their design and buy from them for way less.

Bought a chair

Bought a chair. Pillows just stink. Been over a week. Cheap glue cheap manufacturing with no quality control clearly. They basically ignore the issue and say they will send you a charcoal bag. I guess this happens will all their chairs.Anyways, if you going to spend money on something this is not the place to do it. Since the pillows being manufactured by companies that joybird purchases from absolutely stink.

SOFA BROKE WITHIN A WEEK, NO REPAIR Timeline or Compensation

We bought a sofa, which was delivered on October 23. It broke within a week because of faulty installation. We contacted the customer service and initiated a warranty claim on October 30, we are still waiting for a final response on when they will fix it, and on what kind of compensation will they provide because we will be without a sofa most likely for over a month. Making things worse I have folks coming for Thanksgiving, which I'm supposed I guess to sit on an imaginary sofa. I have contacted them every day, only to get a different customer service associate repeating that they can only discuss compensation after the claim is closed, and to not provide me with a clear date.DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SHOP. IT LOOKS PRETTY but it depends on work in Mexico, which makes for even replacing the foot of the sofa a nightmare. They forgot to put a bolt, which meant the foot broke and displaced enough, that it was impossible to replace the missing bolt and fix it on our own. Also, the wood on the base broke, so it looks not like the amount of money we spent.

I spent $6000 on furniture made sure everything was available when they could deliver it now it’s in two weeks early. They left me a message to call them. I have spent over six hours on hold none of their phone they call me back and if I don’t catch the call, I keep missing them. There’s no way to get a hold of them. It’s frustrating I wouldn’t give them another dime.

3x price of competitors same product

Joybird is making profit from overpricing by double to triple their competitors for the exactsame items, charging “restocking fees” on in-stock items, and overpriced shipping fees. I wanted to share my experience below with details so you don’t waste your money shopping with this company.I purchased the Aggy Rug for $356 plus a $55 delivery fee through the joybird website- the rug arrived and unfortunately it just wasn’t a good fit for our space. I go to place a return and was shocked to learn there is a 25% restocking fee on this item- not a custom item, a rug that is in stock and not produced by joybird. This exact rug is available in the size that I purchased on multiple other websites at the following prices-Home Depot $196.94. $0 in delivery fees, $0 in restocking fees.Wayfair $199.99. $0 in delivery fees, $0 in restocking fees.Bed, bath, and beyond $164.00 plus an additional 10% off coupon. $0 in delivery fees, $0 in restocking fees. With Joybird’s first delivery fee of $55, the 25% restocking fee, and and an additional $55 return delivery fee – that brings the total amount that I paid for a rug I will return to $199. This is approximately 55.89% of the price of $356 (their original price is $548!), which is particularly outrageous compared to all of the other prices above for the exact same merchandise.I would advise that you shop elsewhere based on my experience- I escalated this matter to management and they refused to reverse any charges or work with me to provide a solution of any type.

Cat Parents, DON'T Buy From Joybird!!

Let me start by saying I never write negative reviews, and I usually only go through the effort to write positive reviews for small businesses. So it's bad. I'm shocked at how delicate this "Pet-Friendly" velvet fabric is. Less than 2 weeks of owning my new (expensive) furniture, and the cushions are covered in cat scratches/marks; meanwhile my other pet friendly furniture from Burrow that I've had for over 3 years is in great condition. If I could return these couches I would. Please save your money and look elsewhere for cat friendly furniture! You might think "well i bet their cats are just little gremlins" but no. I've had a Burrow couch with velvet upholstery for 3+ years now - no visible marks or scratches save for usual wear from sitting on it. My cats like to jump on and off couches to nap, or when they have the zoomies, and sometimes they try to do a little biscuit on them, but that's it. And I always provide them with plenty of cat posts and scratching options. I've never seen furniture fabric get ruined so fast like I have with Joybird!I was so excited to recieve my first Joybird furniture set after purchasing during a sale in July 2025. I got the Hopson Couch, Loveseat, Chair, and Ottoman in the "Pet-Friendly" Royale Apple and Royale Peacock velvet fabric. Less than 2 weeks of having my furniture (delivered August 12th, writing this August 21st), and they are COVERED in cat scratches and marks. The style is beautiful. The reviews were great. But the "pet friendly" velvet fabric is the least pet friendly velvet I've personally ever seen. Expensive couches (over $4k, $6k with insurance) shouldn't look like this after a week.I tried reaching out to customer service immediately, and they basically told me all I could do was file claims with the insurance through ServeCo. I don't know what they will be able to do for me if the issue is with the quality/durability of the material. I'm hoping to find a more sustainable solution to this problem, but it feels unlikely. Again, I know the furniture looks pretty but it wears like cheap furniture if you have pets (i can only speak to the "pet-friendly" velvet materials). Try buying from somewhere else.

Ships slow but worth it

As is the case with many of these companies, the couch took FOREVER to ship and get to me. Waiting 4-6 weeks is insane in 2025, I don't know why they haven't figured that out yet. That said, the couch is 10/10, the best couch that I've ever had, and a terrific value for the money. We went one of their showrooms and fell in love. It's the perfect fit for our space, well-built, good material, etc.

Huge disappointment

Huge disappointment. Flat cushions that slide around. A $4600 dollar sofa that one year in looked like junk. Complete waste of money. They refused to do anything.
