How dare they charge me for telling my…

How dare they charge me for telling my 'new' doctor of diagnoses made by other physicians/specialists. I have also received a not good faith estimate where they did not consider insurance coverage and had the audacity to send me an email to PAY the estimate. They refused to cooperate with the Better Business Bureau or the State Attorney General's Office and they REFUSE to provide validation for the debt.

Cancelled my appointment without confirming with me

Normally I don’t have any issues but I had an appointment scheduled that I was waiting for all month. They cancelled my appointment the day of and rescheduled it without confirming with me to the next month. I show up to my appointment and the receptionist acts as if I’m stupid and don’t know what date my appointment was for. She kept printing forms showing me the rescheduled appointment and I kept telling her that the original appointment was changed. I did an echeck in on Friday 4/26 for the appointment and that wasn’t even in their system. They didn’t even have it in their system as to why the appointment was changed or when so I looked like the incompetent one when really it was missed steps on their end and a waste of my time. Now I have to wait another month before I get seen. I booked the appointment at the beginning of April and I have multiple calendars and reminders for all of my appointments. I would not just show up to an appointment, leave work early all to be told that I had my dates wrong.

Lack of respect and care

I showed up for my 12:50pm appointment at 12:30pm as instructed after driving 30 minutes to my appointment, I pick my kids up Mon-Fri from school and have to be at the school by 2pm. When I did get back to a room, a "student Dr" came into my room and told me I would be seeing her, she would take notes and then I would see my actual PC Dr, I wasn't asked if this was Ok and this is the 4th time now that I've had "students" present during my appointments. I didn't see my actual Dr until 1:43pm,live 30 minutes away and have to get my kids from school at 2pm. So now my kids have to wait for their (what looks like) their irresponsible dad to come get them from school because a student learning takes precedence over my picking them up on time. I am also on a medication that I can't go without but my PC Dr doesn't allow it to get filled until the day that I need to start taking it because it's a narcotic, so on days like this that I have an appointment, I don't get my refill until AFTER I see her and then get the prescription filled. I had to walk out of the building to go get my kids because I'm already late, so by the time I got my kids and I got to the pharmacy, I didn't take my first dose until 5pm that day. I expressed that I had to get my kids from school, but it didn't matter, they still acted like they were the only ones with responsibilities. And the things you discuss are confidential, nobody wants a completely new stranger in the room EVERY time you discuss your health with your Dr or or discuss it with the complete stranger with your Dr not even present. Is this a thing? Am I just old school and feel this is very unprofessional and disrespectful on many levels? Not to mention holding my prescriptions hostage and making me go without a medication I depend on, what is the purpose of that other than power and control? I give urine samples every time I'm asked and they are always negative, so it's not an abuse or safety issue! Needless to say I am looking for a new Primary Care Dr and I'm not sure if I'll be staying with Metrohealth. I also don't like how they find new ways to spend your or your insurance companies money on unnecessary tests and medications. I'm sure they are prompted by the "powers that be" to do that in order to bring more money in to their company, but it's all gotten to be too much.

Dishonest and kept most of my money

I ordered Abri Diaper supply thru Amazon. They sent me an inferior product which I did not order. I returned the product unused to them and they refused to give me a complete refund. They kept 60% of my money

The absolute worst!

The absolute worst!! My Dad was admitted through the emergency room, which he stayed in the emergency room for 2 days before a room was available to him. He went because he had a stomach virus that was causing him to not have control over his bile, and he's also a dialysis patient. Now I totally understand that some things are out of your control such as waiting long periods of time for a room in the hospital. I understand that but to let a patient sit in their own waste!!!! for days might I add !!! and that's not it . The staff even proceeded to give him his dialysis treatment in that condition, wheeled him up to his room still covered in his own bile!!!!! UNACCEPTABLE METROHEALTH!!!!!! All of that remodeling to the hospital just to have uncompassionate employees there means absolutely nothing!!!!!!! Nothing was noted in his chart from the emergency room. Just the thought of your staff wheeling him to his his actual room from the emergency room through the hallways soaked in his own bile makes me sick to my stomach!!! When I went to visit him!!! in his room 1 of your nurses was on the computer shopping. I saw her screen!! The bells were going off crazy it was one nurse busting her butt going back and forth between room while your other employee made sure she got her last minute Christmas gifts I suppose. This is not the end of this matter please don't bother sending a generated apology!!! Do better METROHEALTH

As a patient you will become part of…another face in the crowd. Where excuses are their best product.

As a patient you will become part of cookie cutter medicine. It is rare you will see a doctor, Most are transferred to a nurse practitioner. Your diagnosis and treatment come from a computer screen. I was involved with the cardiology department. 3 doctors available with a multi complex of a huge hospital. Your choice

I've seen trucks loading animals into…

I've seen trucks loading animals into the basement of the Rammelkamp Bldg. They use them for animal research and torment them to test their pain tolerance. Then, I watched the news and saw that bones were found in a dumpster at MetroHealth. Then, they try to 'rest assure' the public by stating the bones 'weren't human'. Yeah, because they incinerate the sentient beings before discarding their bones in the dumpsters like trash. I can't stand this disgusting hospital.

MetroHealth is a Deceitful Employer

While working for MetroHealth, I received an email from Alan K. Nevel, Senior Vice President, Chief Diversity and Human Resources Officer on March 16, 2020 at 2:41pm stating (in part) 'As a precautionary measure given the COVID-19 situation, MetroHealth's leadership is assessing possible work-from-home arrangements and which employees may be eligible. For this analysis, our IS department is surveying employees to better understand their at-home electronic equipment and capabilities, so we ask that you respond as soon as possible'. I clicked on the link that was provided in that email. I responded to each question that asked for the details of my personal laptop computer name and operating system. It, obviously, passed the screening test because soon after, my manager told me I could use my personal computer to work from home (as nearly everyone else in my department was already working from home and others were using their personal laptops, as well). I was provided specific instructions for downloading MetroHealth's program, Citrix Receiver, on my personal laptop. The instructions included the following suggestion, 'If you need help please contact the IS service desk. 216-957-3280'. While I was successful with installing Citrix Receiver, it made my screen a blurry green and the icons were fuzzy. Before I had downloaded this program, my computer worked perfectly fine. I had no problems with it. I also had multiple documents and hundreds of pictures stored on my device. Weeks later, my laptop screen became a bright green and the icons were no longer visible. I researched online about this problem and it was discovered to be a known problem with downloading Citrix Receiver. That program hijacked my operating system and, unless I was a Citrix Administrator, I could no longer access anything on my computer! My computer is of no use now and is destroyed from that download. I complained to various upper management employees via email, telephone, and in-person on the following dates: April 17, April 20, April 21, April 23, April 27. Most managers ignored my emails. The IT department told me 'sorry, we don't work on personal computers'. Well, if they don't work on personal laptops, why would they tell us to download their software on our personal laptops? The instructions from Alan Nevel were to the point - we are to download MetroHealth's software on our personal devices. A company laptop was not offered prior to my personal laptop being destroyed. It was around this time that I had to leave work early each day to care for my son, as he could not be left home alone (as schools closed due to the pandemic) due to medical issues. I received protection under FMLA rights. Soon after, my managers continued to ask me how my work was going to get done. They continued to ask me what was wrong with my son, which really wasn't their business, as his doctors completed the FMLA paperwork - which is personal. Then the managers started bullying and harassing me. Using the computer problems as ammunition to make is seem like I suddenly turned into some problematic employee. Several days later, an HR rep, Stephanie Hodgkiss, called me and shouted, 'You are in direct VIOLATION of COMPANY POLICY for downloading our software on your personal laptop!!' I could not believe I was being accused of something that the VP clearly advised of. When I told her who sent me the instructions to use my personal laptop, she quickly changed the subject. Then she started grilling me about my son's issues and then offered a company computer to work from home. I told her I cannot ignore my son's needs while working from home. She was the nastiest person I ever dealt with. She yelled, 'You were on recording being told that MetroHealth does not work on company laptops!' Yeah, I was told AFTER they broke mine! So what difference did that make, after the fact? Stephanie acted like she cracked some cold FBI case by stating that. Did she not have a clue that this was not mentioned when we were told to use our personal laptops beforehand? What a nasty individual she is. Fortunately, I found a much better job - actually paying $7 more an hour and better hours - during this experience and put in my two week notice. This is the worst company I've ever worked for. This employer should not be able to get away with such deceitful acts. I am so glad I now work for a respectable employer who doesn't treat their employees this way. But MetroHealth needs to be held accountable for their deceit. I am going to continue to tell my story until I am reimbursed by this rotten employer.
