Wanted to buy a touareg, as I've wanted one since I was a kid. Phoned an enquired about the vehicle and found out all the info I wanted. James seemed genuine at the start. He stated delivery would be free to my door, so I payed and waited for the vehicle to go for an MOT, which was done a month before according to DVLA records, and no advisory. James said the MOT failed and the vehicle needed 3 bushings, to which I agreed a delay while they replaced them apparently and a new delivery day was agreed. I made him aware I needed a car ASAP as my current one at the time had blown its head gasket and I couldn't drive it much longer and it was getting scrapped soon. After the bushings were "replaced" another issue came up and the glow rods needed to be replaced as EML light has come on all of a sudden. Waited again for the rods to be fitted. Then after that and another few days wait, another issue came up. I stated I wanted a refund, to which he agreed. I waited the 5 business days for the money to come in, nothing arrived. Contacted James yet again and he just kept coming up with excuses and lies. I've reported him to my bank, Monzo, who have been in contact with his bank and suspended his business account pending further investigation. I'm now trying to wait patiently for my bank to get my money back, been waiting a week. Avoid this conman. Just lies lies and more lies and delays. Now I've been without a car for a month, been struggling to get to work. Can't take the family on a trip to see great nana.
Bought a car in January 2022 which broke down once we drove it off the forecourt ,after a couple of weeks the car wasn’t changing gear properly been a automatic . So James said return the car back to them & they would repair it after weeks of lies he said the car couldn’t be fixed so he would swop the car for another one which I agreed .When the other one was meant to be delivered I had a phone call to say this car was faulty so James offered a full refund to which was agreed .This was back in March & im still waiting .After weeks of lies & fake documents sent to me . So to all them people out thinking of buying a car from Midlands Sports & Prestige … do not attempt to even getting involved with this company .James is nothing but a compulsive liar & thinks he’s smart by doing what he is doing to customers .He just doesn’t care as long as he has your money in his pocket .
sent a Breach of contract letter and a Letter before court claim..they are still ignoring me. this is a very bad company, they need closing down
I don't know where to begin I bought a car from james diffey the director of midland sports and prestige it broke within a month of buying it the aa towed it back with a faulty dpf and oil pump he said it would be fixed since then it hasn't come back they had it for over 6 months before james agreed to give me a refund I've been chasing it for nearly a year and still no money have now got bailiffs involved and he hasn't paid them either now going to court I'm now nearly £6000 out of pocket after having to borrow £5000 from my 78 year old dads pension fund to get a new car as james didn't pay my refund in when i went to pick my new car up and even after telling him my dad was now short still hasnt paid me so i could pay my dad back so effectively hes refusing to oay dads pension back causing a lot of stress and anxiety for my dad and me avoid at all cost this is the man he is proving to be
If it would be possible to leave a zero star review I would, these guys are nothing short of criminals. A long story that has rambled on since February where I returned a faulty vehicle, I haven’t seen the car since. Multiple attempts to reason with the director James Diffey who is a compulsive liar just don’t attempt to involve yourself with this man you’ll regret it for as long as you live. After months of chasing and receiving multiple compulsively untrue responses I attended the premises where James offered to but my car back of me for almost £2000 less than I paid for the car which in itself is a joke but I wanted free of this nightmare so reluctantly agreed to his proposal. The conman took my bank details back in May and told me the payment would be in my account within 3-5 working days. Unsurprisingly the money never arrived. I now have debt collectors acting on my behalf to retrieve my money. I urge anyone and everyone who has ever dealt with this individual as it appears there are hundreds who have had the misfortune of his company to share your stories with everyone and drag his name through the mud. Avoid small claims court at all cost, this guy knows every trick in the book and even if you win, you’ll never get your money back anyway so save yourself the hassle. I have debt collectors acting on my behalf who will retrieve my money back eventually and will hopefully harm his business’ reputation as they persist in their efforts. Let’s hope one day that James’ luck runs out and he ends up where he belongs, behind her majesty’s cosy prison walls.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! I bought a zafira vxr from here. I live miles away so bought it unseen. I phoned them and was told it was in fantastic shape and needed nothing mechanically so I bought it and they delivered it.After it was delivered I checked the car out which was covered in rust, paint flaking off everywhere, smoking and spluttering, steering wasn't working.I messaged them and explained the issues and said I wanted a refund and asked them to collect the car. They said it needed to be checked by a mechanic first and to get quotes on the repairs. I did this wasting time and money getting this done. My local garage were shocked at how unsafe and in bad shape thr vehicle was. They said there was no way it would have passed a real MOT as they found at least 10 MOT fails amongst the other long list of issues.I sent them the info from the garage and have been ignored for a week now since sending the requested info and still requesting collection and a refund.Looks like I'm heading down the legal route now!I case they reply to this and try and spin further lies, if anyone requires proof of all of this I have everything documented from the purchase of the vehicle, transcripts of messages between me and James Diffey the director and all the diagnostic reports and quotes to repair the vehicle. Please feel free to contact me I am happy to prove these scum bags are a bunch of crooks!
The bad reviews say it all. The worst ever company. Compulsive liars, massive con artists etc etc....no wonder they had to change their name previously. They'll probably do it again with all the poor reviews. Just watch this space!
Found a van on ebay. Went down to see it on Saturday, they had it moted and serviced ready to collect. I was happy with the van and the service. Cheers
I have been trying to get my *Fully refundable* deposit back since 2019. I went to purchase a black Focus ST estate, put a deposit down and then I had to change my mind and ask for my deposit back. To which, I never saw again. The only time they responded was when I left a negative Autotrader review. Absolutely disgusting and a complete con. They reached out to me to try and rectify this, but again, nothing came of this. I have never know a garage which SO many negative reviews. Devastated I never received my £200 back, but I guess they saw me as a mug and ran. Please save yourself and steer away from buying a car from this *company*.
Purchased a Insignia. Easy purchase. Just in the process of buying a car for my daughter through them to.
Purchased a car from this company during the lockdown i was told i couldn’t test drive it due to restrictions very convient because driving it home after paying for it the brakes were dodgy and discs (hence an advisory on a previous MOT 12 months previous). This car after sitting on the drive during lockdown had a major oil leak after getting it checked this had been leaking oil for a long time but a sponge had been put in the leak to soak it up. The car was collected by this garage which was with them 3 weeks in this time it was being used a full tank of fuel was used there was oil foot prints on my new mats and my phone holder had been broke??The first day after it’s return i nearly hit a wall when the battery - alternator died on me with no prior warning before it had left for the garage 3 weeks previous i do question what happened to my car during those 3 weeks. Also on further investigation after the rear camera stopped working it had been glued. My opinion is do not buy from this garage the cars are not road worthy mine was not and definitely had issues that they ignored and sold to me for top money.
Because of the covid restrictions I bought a car over the phone and was given to understand that I could drive it for 2 weeks before making a final decision. I have driven the car and find it very uncomfortable. I have a bad back and the seat was sunken and after a few miles my back was very painful. I phoned the garage to ask for a refund and was told that they would only refund it if it had broken down.
I purchased a Porsche Boxster from these guys just over 7 weeks ago. Firstly, i want to say i did read these reviews prior to purchase but i’m a true believer of ‘don’t believe everything you read on the web’. From the initial enquiry they gave a good impression and answered all the questions about the Porsche. They sent me a video of the car which made me more comfortable in the current pandemic. I left a deposit and viewed the car 5 days later with a view to drive it home. It had been mot’ed and serviced as agreed. The car in all honesty was in better condition than i expected & compared to the video. For a 2007 car (bare in mind it was 13 years old!) it had a couple of small stone chips but that was it! I’ve covered nearly 1000 miles since then and i’ve loved every minute of ownership. I’ve rang back to them a couple of times with general questions about the car and he answered them each time. So overall my experience has been very good and i would genuinely say to anyone, please speak to them and don’t believe everything you read as from my experience i would buy another vehicle from them.
This company cannot be trusted. They have a very poor service record and supply vehicles that are not fit for purpose. They do not give valid warranties, they do not have the staff or know how or decency to repair vehicles that have faults. My experience of this company has been that they sell cars from auction that look good but are faulty, In my case after a serious fault developed they took the car back but failed to attempt to repair stating that the car was fine. The fault remained and was obvious again within a week. They could not provide a courtesy car and refused to acknowledge the faults. Furthermore they have defaulted on refunding money that was owed after a court judgement. Avoid this company at all costs.
