CHEM 151/152 tutoring
Dr. Lori was a great tutor! She explained everything in a way that was easy to understand and truly cared about our experience. Highly recommend to anyone needing some extra help.

An amazing service and value that meets the needs of college students
My son listened to one of Dr. Lori's Chem tutorials for a test once his freshman year and he thought it was helpful. I followed her on the UA parent page and always found the information helpful. When it was time for my son to find an MCAT prep course nothing was working out timewise. He either had classes or work. I had him check out Stem Excellence and was blown away with what you got for the price. It was less expensive than anything we had looked into and it was more tailored to his needs. He found the check in sessions very helpful and the resources were great. He happened to get his Fresh. chem teacher as an advisor. I would highly recommend their services. They really have it dialed in and know what is needed for UA classes and MCAT prep.

STEM Excellence is the Real Deal
Lori, Dr. Hidalgo and the entire team at STEM Excellence have been instrumental in my son's success. We initially found them through the UA Mom's group FB pages and my son began working with their tutors. We then discovered that Lori and the team also offer an academic coaching program that helps my son really learn how to learn in a way that works best for him as he recovers from a severe brain injury and pursues a degree in medicine. They have helped him understand the concepts and find ways for him retain the information and continue to identify new and better ways. They get to know their students and become personally invested in their success. I highly recommend.

I highly recommend Stem Excellence and the MCAT prep course. I worked closely with Dr. Lori to make sure I was on track and progressing. I followed the program intensely and increased my practice exam scores by 30 points over time. I feel ready and confident to take the MCAT.

Just do it! So worth it!
I've been working with StemExcellence for three semesters, and to say I wouldn’t have succeeded in my chemistry courses without their support is an understatement. School has always been challenging for me, and even when I put in the work, I wasn't seeing the results I needed to thrive as a pre-med student. My journey started with Dr. Lori in my Chem 151 class, continued through Chem 152, and most recently, I finished Chem 241a with Dr. Turk. Thanks to StemExcellence, I am thrilled to share that I received A’s in both of my last two chemistry semesters. If you’re struggling and traditional tutoring isn’t helping, I highly recommend scheduling a consultation with Dr. Lori. Her program and team will exceed your expectations. My biggest takeaway from this experience is the incredible boost in my confidence—not just in my academic performance, but in test-taking as well. It’s beyond what I ever thought possible for myself.

I legit could not have made it for a second in Chem 151 if it wasn’t for Dr. Lori’s help. She was super attentive and really cared for her students. She always checked in and made sure I felt confident before my exams. I couldn’t recommend more.

Really helpful tutoring service
Their tutoring for Chem 151 was so helpful, they were able to simplify and explain the content so well in a way that just clicked for me. Dr. Lori is so kind and encouraging, and her explanations made chemistry much easier to process. They also offer so many practice tests and practice problems that the exam content can’t catch you off guard. I would highly recommend STEM excellence for anyone who wants a little extra help getting that A in their science courses!

The Reason I Passed Chemistry
I loved working with this company and they’re the reason I passed Chem 152! I barely skated by with a B in 151 so the fact that I passed with an A this semester was amazing and I understood so much more of the content than before, to the point that I was actually able to explain the concepts to others! 10/10 recommend

Chem 151 Tutoring
At first, I was genuinely scared to take Chem 151 because I never understood chemistry in high school. However, Dr. Lori and Stem Excellence Tutoring truly helped me succeed by teaching me how to properly study. I found the lecture videos beneficial because the dense content was taught in a simplified manner. Also, the week before a test we took multiple practice tests in order to be thoroughly prepared (there will be no surprises on the test because we have gone over the different types of questions expected!) On exam 2b, 3b, and 4b I got a 100%. My overall grade for the class is about a 97%. I 100% recommend STEM Excellence! Dr. Lori is AMAZING! The resources provided will help you truly learn and understand chemistry, and your grades will reflect that.

Personalized and Effective MCAT Guidance
If you are a premed worried about the mcat this is the right place to be! I work with Dr.Tori and she is the best. Every week she creates a schedule that is personal to me and adjusts the plans according to what I need. Her support has made such a positive difference and impact on my journey! Huge help from STEM Excellence

Lifesaver for Chemistry!
I was struggling learning from in class lectures in chem 152. Started tutoring with Lori for this new unit and am blown away by how well she teaches the content. I’ve managed to turn my grade around and just got 100% on my most recent in person exam!

I would not have received an A in…
I would not have received an A in chemistry if not for Stem Excellence. Dr. Lori puts everything into bite sized chunks that are easy to understand, and truly makes the topics much easier to digest.

Phenomenal
This really helped me through a really tough semester. The Key Topic videos were the best feature, and the live lectures were really helpful and important for me as well. This program might have been the difference between two letter grades in my chemistry class.

I Can't Thank This Program ENOUGH!
I started taking Chemistry at the University of Arizona for the full year of 2021-2022. I was taking both 151 and 152 along with both having labs. My first exam in the Fall Semester of 2021, I completely failed it. Rushing to my parents, I bawled my eyes out completely and felt so belittled by such a bad grade. In doing so, my family reached out to Stem Excellence and found a tutor for me. Her name is Lori and she absolutely changed the way I thought throughout this class. This was not just a simple "ask questions, and you'll get answers," type of format. It was basically another class with less than 20 students who got to learn the material twice, but this time, from her own perspective. From being with her for only a couple weeks, I managed to get the worst grade of my life to almost acing my second exam. She goes off the syllabus the professor's use when it comes down to what lessons we're learning and explains them thoroughly instead of skimming through. The time this program puts into their students is absolutely amazing. They even have "Check-In," calls where you can update your tutor with how you're feeling and doing. I promise you, this was definitely worth it in the long run and helped me get the grade I deserved. Can't thank you enough Stem Excellence!

Beyond my expectations, wonderful chemistry tutor!!!
I am writing this review as a student who worked with Dr. Lori Culberson as my tutor during the spring semester of my chemistry 151 class at the University of Arizona. I had lost confidence in my abilities and was frustrated with my test grades despite my study efforts in the class. From the first session, Lori made an immediate impact on my understanding of the materials. I was able to message my questions to Lori prior to our sessions and she was always prepared and knowledgable on the specific topics so that the session time was always put to its best use as we went over content that aligned exactly with my chemistry 151 course. Lori was articulate, friendly, encouraging and patient as she worked with me during the spring semester. The written recaps/notes and topic reviews that she provided after each session were like an additional tutoring session in themselves. I could write notes on the recap and refer back to it at school when needed. In the end, I was able to raise my final grade and finished with an A and Lori’s tutoring played a significant role in this outcome. This was my first attempt at using an online tutoring platform like Stem excellence and I am fortunate to have found Lori. I would recommend her without hesitation and I will continue to work with her as I navigate my future chemistry courses!

Awesome experience with awesome results
This program really helped me do well in my chemistry course. Without it, I definitely would have done a lot worse. I really enjoyed how helpful everyone is and it made chemistry a more enjoyable experience overall. I highly recommend it.
