The relocation of my retail inventory was handled with great skill. These young men are fantastic and worked quickly. Sincere thanks for making this change feel so easy.
Moving from a shared space meant keeping things separate and clear. Everyone was respectful and easy to deal with the whole time. I'd use the same service again if I needed to move.
Price doubled when movers showed up and started loading , then when my furniture showed up, there was over $7000 in damage and rendered most things useless. Multiple phone calls led no where and insurance doesnt reply.
Not many companies follow through on their promises, but this one did. The guys stayed focused and handled my glasses with real care. I felt completely at ease with how they worked.
I repeat what has been said by others. I would not recommend this company. After mark ups it was not a lower cost option and it was stressful to complete this process. I Was given an estimate, when a little less than what was on my original ist was picked up my sq footage was about 60% higher. Paid the initial increase and told there would be no more increases unless there were stairs or long distance to off load. My delivery was at a storage facility to which the parked 5 feet from thedoor and facility was double the estimated sq ft, so plenty of room to just roll off items and put them in. Yep, extra charge for delivery to storage facility. Communication, swift shift customer service responded in timely manner when i reached out to findvout pickup and delivery dates. They contracted with Metro van l8nes out of chicago, who subcontracted with local movers, company name unknown. My delivery "window" was dec. 18 or 19. After many inquiries i recieved my shipment jan. 17th.
A great result was achieved when this team helped me clear out my house for a repair job. The crew only loaded the specific items that needed to go and stayed away from the parts of the home under construction. They carried the bulky pieces through the open areas with a lot of care. At the temporary spot, they set my things out clearly so I could find what I needed quickly. This helped keep the whole project from feeling too hard or stressful for me.
This company will not disclose they are a broker. They gave empty promises, false delivery dates, despite me mentioning the importance of the need by date, and quoted me a bogus amount. They never once disclosed my items would be transferred multiple times, and handle with negligence. I was quoted under $2600 but somehow ended up paying $5200 and left with over $2000 in damaged items. Mind you, I only paid because my belongings were being held hostage.
I kept wondering if it hiring movers was worth it. Now I know it totally is. Having those professionals handled the heavy lifting and the logistics was worth every single penny. I was able to focus on other things. Best decision I made for the whole move.
We only moved a few blocks away, but we had a ton of boxed books. They also had to deal with a very narrow hallway in our old building. The team from Swiftshiftvanlines worked incredibly fast. They got all the boxes and furniture loaded up in under two hours. person name) kept checking in to make sure everything was handled right. They saved us so much time and effort.
would strongly caution anyone considering Swift Shift Van Lines to proceed very carefully. Before booking, I specifically raised concerns with the salesperson about reviews mentioning multi-week delays. I was reassured those situations were the customer’s fault and was told my belongings would arrive quickly. I was also told drivers travel up to eight hours or 500 miles per day, which led me to reasonably expect timely delivery. Based on these assurances, I chose this company. Had I been told upfront that delivery could realistically take weeks or that my belongings could sit in a warehouse, I would not have booked with them. After pickup, I discovered my belongings were sitting in a warehouse in Chicago (I had AirTags in my items), despite my delivery destination being San Diego. When I contacted the actual carrier, I was told delivery could take 7–21 days. This was never clearly explained to me during the sales process. There were also serious issues with inventory and pricing. The initial inventory was incomplete, and when this was identified, I was told it would cost over $2,000 more to correct. The inventory call was ended abruptly before we could resolve it, and I was forced to leave behind personal belongings at the last minute. Attempts to contact my salesperson for help went unanswered. Eventually, I discovered my number had been blocked — confirmed when friends and family were able to reach him immediately. When my belongings finally arrived, another issue arose: I was told I needed to pay additional money for the movers to bring my items inside, despite this service already being included in my contract and paid for. After significant back-and-forth, they ultimately dropped the demand, but it added unnecessary stress at the end of an already exhausting process. Throughout this experience, communication was poor, accountability was lacking, and responsibility was repeatedly deflected to the contract rather than addressing the misleading information provided upfront. Moving is stressful enough without feeling misled, ignored, and pressured for additional payments.
It was a very smooth and impressive experience. My antique dresser was handled with great care. Happy to hire them.
They will lie to get your business. I got a call from swift shift on a day while I was at work. The girl who called me was pleasant and friendly and acted understanding and sympathetic to my situation. I explained to her everything about my up coming move, my inventory of items and exactly how I was envisioning the move to take place. I have never moved out of state before and this girl was so accommodating and disarming. She agreed with everything I said I needed making it sound like it wasn't a problem and I could trust them to do this right. She disparaged other companies I was getting quotes from saying Swift Shift would beat competitors prices and saying things like the trucks and movers they have work directly for them. And the offer they had for me was only good for that phone conversation, take it or leave it. I took it. I touched base with my "moving concierge" (the same girl I was contacted by) a week before the move saying I was nervous about how things would go and she was quick to assure me everything will go as planned. Day of the move I get a call from a company they contracted with telling me the movers would be there between 4-6 pm. - I specifically requested the morning, they basically told me I was sh*t out of luck. I had planned everything around this morning move. I had to pull all my favors to get a friend to come over and let the movers in. On top of that the mover didn't actually arrive until 9 pm. I owe my friend a kidney. Once the movers got there they went over the inventory with me, they put stickers on everything that won't come up and leave the sticker behind, I'm missing stuff (paintings, cork board, art supplies). I asked them, "ok so should I wait up for you guys to get here?" and the mover said, "oh no.. you won't get your stuff for at least 3 days." When I booked this move I said I needed my stuff same day hence the morning request. The movers came on Friday I received my stuff the following Monday. No apologies, and when I tried contacting swift shift to ask what the hell is going on, THEY GHOSTED ME. If I would have known ahead of time I wouldn't receive my things for 3 days I would have packed differently. I would have taken my medication specifically with me, I would have packed a bag of clothes and toiletries.. but when I booked the move the girl Lee Ann told me everything I wanted and needed to hear just to get my business. They will lie, lie, lie.. beware of this moving company.
We booked a full-service move across the state. The crew arrived with plenty of warning and labeled every container accurately before it went on the truck. It was a smooth move and great service at all by the swiftshiftvanlines.
I used Swiftshiftvanlines for a same day office shuffle. Desks moved from one floor to another. Chairs, monitors, and whiteboards followed. The movers labeled floors before lifting anything. Monitors were wrapped and carried upright. We moved 12 desks in a few hours.
I hired them for a film shoot wrap. Props, lighting rigs, cables, and crates. We had 2 trucks on site. The movers followed the call sheet timing. Gear was loaded by scene number. Cables stayed labeled. Crates were stacked evenly. When we reached storage, everything came off in order
I had a very serious and frustrating experience with Swift Shift Van Lines and the moving company they brokered. After major issues during delivery—including erratic and unsafe behavior by movers they literally hired from Craigslist, unreliable delivery timelines which caused us to have to sleep on the floor of an empty house for a week, damage to property and belongings, and pressure to sign paperwork without proper verification and they left without me signing the paperwork which leads me to believe they may have forged my signature (swift shift has still not confirmed they have retrieve this paperwork which is either not signed or bares a false signature)—I attempted multiple times to resolve these matters directly with Swift Shift. They have since stopped responding entirely. I have spoken with attorneys who advised that while the situation appears clearly criminal, the cost of pursuing legal action would likely exceed any recovery. Because of that, the most realistic option left to me is to warn others publicly. This review is written so future customers can make an informed decision and understand the risks involved when using this broker.
Swift Shift Van Lines is one of the most unethical companies I have ever dealt with. This nightmare began with Brandon, the salesperson who sold me the move. He presented Swift Shift as professional, transparent, and reliable. That was false. The quote he provided bore no resemblance to the reality of what followed. Once he secured my $4,178 payment, accountability disappeared entirely. Maria, who worked on the operations side, was fully aware of the delays, confusion, and lack of delivery and chose to do nothing meaningful to resolve it. Communication was evasive, dismissive, and condescending. At no point did she take responsibility or provide real answers — only deflection. My belongings were delayed more than 21 days past the promised delivery window. When they were finally delivered, I was forced to pay an additional $645 in cash under threat that my belongings would not be released otherwise. This was not optional. This was not a misunderstanding. It was pay or lose your belongings. The movers refused to provide a receipt for this cash payment. Swift Shift then attempted to distance themselves by blaming a subcontractor. That excuse does not hold. Swift Shift took the money. Brandon sold the move. Maria managed the process. Subcontracting does not remove responsibility — it exposes how reckless and unethical this operation is. Brandon and Maria deserve none of the dignity or professional credibility that comes with honest work. They should not be allowed to quietly move on or preserve their reputations. They owe direct, public apologies and a full acknowledgment of what they did to the people and families they deceived. What makes this unforgivable is that this is not an isolated incident — it is a system. Brandon and Maria knowingly participate in a process that harms hundreds of people every month, fully aware that families are misled, financially trapped, and left without their belongings — and they continue anyway. If they had to read this review out loud to the people who raised them, love them, or trust them, it would be humiliating — and it should be. Their actions reflect not confusion or bad luck, but a complete lack of judgment, ethics, and basic capacity for accountable, honest work. This outcome is not surprising; it is exactly what happens when people who are incapable of meeting the standards of honest labor choose deception instead. There is nothing dignified about what they did. Nothing respectable about avoiding accountability. And nothing about the harm they caused should be forgotten. I have filed formal complaints with: • FMCSA • Better Business Bureau • Florida Attorney General • My credit card company (dispute ongoing) If you are considering Swift Shift Van Lines, do not make the mistake I did. Once they have your money, you have no leverage — and apparently, no rights. Avoid this company at all costs
Move from NJ 10/29-11/02 Started with a reasonable quote of +2,100 that turned into +3,100 and then +450 due they couldn't bring there truck into my complex, the $450. was for them to rent a home depot truck ($19.99 for the first hour) after they left I found a TV that had screen damage (replaced for 191.00) sofa was damaged, had missing items (which were not listed) Alexa Echo dot, missing chair screws all boxes and debris left in hallway on top that they gave me a pick up time of 8-12pm then 12-3pm that I called to see if they were still coming arriving before 4pm. My only surprise was the speed of delivery, BEWARE
Contracted for a small move for my elderly parents and finalized the list a week prior, but when the movers came they had a different list and wanted more money, then was told the delivery would be on a certain date and two weeks later still no household goods and they are without a mattress and walkers and there is not estimated date of arrival. Terrible experience so far.
After experiencing Swift Shift's services firsthand, I feel compelled to warn others about this company's problematic business practices. What started as an affordable moving solution quickly became a nightmare of hidden fees, poor communication, and accountability issues. Swift Shift initially provided an extremely competitive estimate that was significantly lower than other companies I contacted. This should have been my first red flag. After paying the required non-refundable deposit to "secure" my moving date, the real problems began. On moving day, the actual movers (who, I later learned, were from a completely different third-party company) arrived and immediately informed me that the price would be nearly double the original estimate. They cited additional charges for stairs, distance from the truck, packing materials, and various other fees that were never mentioned in the initial quote. With my belongings already loaded and limited options available, I felt forced to pay the inflated price -- how can you back out on moving day? Tenants were moving in two days after my moving day. Swift Shift knows this is typically the case and exploit. Once the move was underway, getting any information about my shipment became nearly impossible. Phone calls went unreturned and when I did get through, I was hung up on. Promised delivery dates came and went without explanation, and when I did manage to reach someone, they seemed to have no knowledge of my specific situation. The lack of tracking information and constant delays added tremendous stress to an already difficult process. What Swift Shift fails to make clear upfront is that they operate primarily as a broker, not an actual moving company. This means they're essentially a middleman who contracts your move out to other companies. When problems arise - and they will - Swift Shift points fingers at the third-party movers, while those movers claim they're just following Swift Shift's instructions. This creates a frustrating cycle where no one takes responsibility for the issues. Swift Shift was unresponsive to my calls and emails about insurance information. Getting documentation and information about where my items were and when they’d arrive was like pulling teeth. Moving is stressful enough without dealing with misleading, predatory business practices and poor customer service. While Swift Shift's initial estimates might seem attractive, the hidden costs, lack of communication, and accountability issues make them a company I cannot recommend. There are honest, reliable moving companies out there - Swift Shift is not one of them.
