JOKE of a Web "tutoring" system

If you're thinking about signing up as a licensed Tutor --- DON'T. Their "testing evaluations" are bunk, or very poorly sustained. I'd taken their English, Science, and Math testing evaluations which I've personally tutored AND Sub / Taught for nearly 6 years. For them to 'score me' 60% or failing, when I KNEW the correct answers! The site stating at the top "Congradulations you passed" While the mid-page reads 'Sorry, but you scored at 64% and need an 87% to pass' Laugh my butt off. Whatever - - - Don't bother emailing their Support about it. You'll get dumb runaround.

I was given the wrong paper

I was given the wrong paper. I am not even sure my paper was reviewed. I have had papers lost. I have had papers reviewed and not been able to access the feedback. I have had very inconsistent reviews after submitting the same work to two different tutors. I have had submissions for review that disappeared completely after submitting and getting on screen verification.

This is the worst website when it comes…

This is the worst website when it comes to giving information and providing bad tutors. When making a complaint, they make it impossible to speak out. I think this is one of the worst tutoring websites I have used.

Think twice before joining this outfit!

If you are contemplating joining Tutor.com, be warned that it is an over-administered organization that is not necessarily staffed with people who are qualified to evaluate tutor perfomance in certain areas, at least not in mathematics (calculus). My performance was criticized for "doing too much work" while tutoring students who were struggling with basic concepts and simply needed to be guided once through the process of applying a technique for solving a problem. After this stage, practice is the key. And fixing all session durations to either 25 minutes or 60 minutes to help a first-year calculus student to derive a formula (e.g., for things such as the Economic Ordering Quantity Model) is worse than short-sided, it's counter-productive.For $15 an hour I, as a retired electrical engineer, considered this more a labor of love than a source of income. The Tutor.com management obviously invests far more money in administrative things like their labyrinthine and un-navigatible website as well as for their staff of performance review agents who have questionable backgrounds in the areas that they review, at least in math/science.Also, be prepared to receive emails from administrators who explicitly list their pronouns with their signature...however if that's the kind of organization you want to work for, this is the place for you.

Tutors leave the chat platform so you…

Tutors leave the chat platform so you don't get to grade them, and wait until the last minute to disconnect, so they get paid. I believe my tuitions and fees could have a better use. I don't and will never recommend tutor.com to my advisors and peers. Waste of time. If you complain, they basically ban you from their platform, that would be nice to get back the tuitions and fees that paid for the service.

Terrible pay

Only thing good about this is that it’s online They don’t pay enough and expect tutors to have a lot of credentials when they only pay 15 starting off, I can go to Panda Express and make more money there don’t waist your time with this company only pays 12 starting off you can go to burger king and make more

scheduled session never happened.

I scheduled a tutoring session with a specific tutor and not only was it difficult and confusing on how to connect with that specific tutor, but every time I clicked connect it led me to a random tutor. I guess no one likes to use mic anymore.. I'm sorry but a chat box is such a pain and I don't really see myself learning that way.... Super disappointed the college chose this service. I mean the app and online reviews in general speak for themselves though. If you can - AVOID this service and definitely the app, because it's useless.

Their technology team is absolutely…

Their technology team is absolutely awful. They send a response that doesn’t help or resolve the problem and then close your ticket even if you respond to let them know the issue isn’t resolved. This has happened to me so many times.

Absolutely disgraceful

Absolutely disgraceful. The administration don’t give you any respect despite the fact that you have worked for them years and undergone disrespect or profanity from the students. When the time for a promotion comes, they change your supervisor to avoid increasing salary. No company benefits. No extra consideration. They pay barely to the tutors. There are many other welcoming websites which gives you many students and you get a premium rate. Hope and pray that all tutors leave their platforms very soon and join the other rewarding platforms.Thank you.

stay away if you are a school admin

I can almost never find a tutor and when I do they cannot help me with simple math. They also type in broken English. There is no video capabilities even tho they claim to have it.One tutor told me they pay their tutors less than $10 an hour so what do you expect. Thankfully I don't have to pay a dime, because my school was dumb enough to pay for their services...

Helped a lot!

Time to find a tutor took a few min long, but once I was received one I was understanding my material. The tutor was very knowledgeable and showed me multiple ways to find my solutions. We were going over a guide for a decently large test, and I almost received an A. In that particular class that was my highest grade of the year.Having another person to assist in studying improved my grasp of the subject drastically, and I will incorporate it into my routine. Thanks Tutor.com!

Applied for a tutor position

Applied for a tutor position listed on Indeed for the Adobe Suite. I could not get past the automated application process... noted "rejected" next step: "none". I have 25+ years as a video professional and 8 years working freelance full time. Is this site simply data collecting?

Can't ever find a tutor same day

I could never find a tutor within a reasonable time. And when you finally do, the quality is horrible. There are so many services out there that are better. I wouldn't recommend this to my worst enemy...
