Terrible service. My building uses this insurance, and after filling a claim for flooding (from a broken AC unit), they have taken almost a month and still no approval. So the work cannot start and we are stuck living with no drywall in various areas and a mess everywhere as we cleared out the areas with drywall missing.
I bought trip insurance in 2019 from USI for a planned 2020 tour with National Geographic Expeditions. USI is NatGeo's insurance partner. The 2020 trip was postponed due to Covid restrictions, eventually rebooked to happen in 2023. NatGeo allowed me to postpone the 2023 booking due to civil unrest (and US State Department warnings) at the time I was supposed to travel. USI had rolled my coverage forward initially, but refused to carry over my coverage for 2024. They didn't initially offer a refund or offer to apply the previously paid premiums to a new policy. They basically just told me I was out of luck. I finally got them to agree to refund my premiums since I never actually took the trip for which the premiums were paid, but they have since slow-rolled the refund. It was supposed to be credited to my Master Card, a process which takes every other vendor a few keystrokes. USI has yet to refund my money and gives all kinds of weak excuses for the delays. I travel as often as I can, and always buy trip insurance. I'll never again do business with these folks. I can only imagine what a nightmare I'd have with claims if it were unlucky enough to have to file one.
