Avoid as much as you can. After I have discussed with them about an issue that occurred at my car in the first month, they sent me to the garage to have the problem diagnosed and to ring them back me or the garage later on. After I got the diagnostic for my car they have completely ignored all my phone calls. I have tried multiple times but no answer what it left me with a bill to pay to the garage for what was supposed to be covered by them. I have worked with the warranty companies during the ears but this one is the worst. After my experience I have checked the customer's reviews and then I saw that this is how they operate. NEVER AGAIN.
Thank you for your helpful customer comments. It has prompted me to carefully review all the conditions apertaining to these policies and having made further enquiries of the company decided to put the £850 premiums in a savings bank to meet unforeseen expenses, knowing I will be able to meet my claims!
Customer support staff unhelpful. When I asked if specific part is covered they told me to read a leaflet.Called multiple times and they never answer their phones, gave up after waiting 10minutes. Would not recommend this company, very difficult to make a claim. They want a garage to call them and each garage said that they don't deal with warranties. Every single garage specified that they fix it and give all the details and I claim the money back, but AutoTrust wants to deal everything with garage.
Alloy Wheel Insurance - con!Bought this with new Volvo 2.5 years ago. Wheels have some corrosion which Volvo won't cover and because of the corrosion this CarCarePlan insurance won't repair any scuffs. What a joke
Dreadful service.Wish I had never purchased this cover.Work on my car approved but still waiting for payment 2 months later.
Absolute jokers. £450 ‘policy.’ I’ve called to get ‘portal’ log in. Waited for email confirmation, to now log in to said portal. Logged in. Doesn’t work. Pics too big, then too small. Called them- lovely chap advised he’d deal with manually as a problem with my account. No email received. Wasted 4 hours of my life. Now paid for wheel refurbish myself. Do not use these con artists. Shocking service- they just don’t honour their offering.
Beware the small print! Submitted a claim for a cosmetic repair that met the criteria of the policy (small dent and small scratch to paintwork) only to be told by repairer that “he doesn’t do dents”. From there it became a repair that the repair company said they wouldn’t repair (initially they falsely claimed a distorted panel, then something about it being a straight line dent… too small / not deep enough…) and they also wouldn’t do a partial repair to the paintwork only. Was offered £150 instead by the insurance company towards the cost of taking it to the bodyshop. What a waste of money. Been paying just under £40 a month for cosmetic repair policy. Utter charlatans. No wonder insurance companies have such a poor reputation. My advice based on experience of this company is to a teer clear and self-insure!
It takes a lot for me to give 4 stars let alone 1! I had some minor damage to two wheels. Called immediately, took multiple photos as requested, submitted them then had an email to say case closed with no reason I have been unable to contact the company since. Phones not answered and emails not replied to. They can’t have gone bankrupt as the car dealership is still selling their insurance. I will be advising the dealership not to touch them.
I purchased this extended warranty for my son's car, nevertheless, the garatge erroneously placed it in the name of my wife. Admit, not Autotrust's fault. When it came to the MoT, a fault was found with the emissions, which was covered by the MoT warranty. It was checked by the garage, and the diagnosis was it was either the lambda or the catalytic converter. The former was a cheaper fix than the latter. The garage contacted AutoTrust, who said they wanted to send their own engineer, the garage accepts, but they felt that it was certainly the lambda. The garage said that they felt that this would eliminate the problem. Autotrust, for some reason agreed a cost of £157.20, if that is what they agreed, even if a variance of £1 on the invoice, they weren't paying any more. The actual invoice was for £158.21.The Lambda was replaced, and this cured the problem and MoT passed.I sent a copy of the invoice to Autotrust, and they wanted my bank details. I attached a password protected Word document, clearly stating "Encrypted file attached with bank details. A separate file will follow to enable access. NOTE it is case sensitive."I then sent an e-mail with the password. As a week had passed, I rang to find out what was the delay. They said they paid within 21 to 28 days for a transfer to a bank. I wrote to said company with the following thought: "Further to my e-mail below, I have learnt that you are likely to pay my claim within 21 to 28 days. I do find this rather extraordinary currently as we have more advanced electronic transfers available. On the 27th March 1977 there was an airline disaster in Tenerife; underwriters at Lloyds paid out £64 million, for hull losses, within 10 hours.I leave you to contemplate that piece of history."No reply. A bit later a letter arrives addressed to my wife using her shortened first name, as it appeared on the warranty. Inside was a cheque for £157.20.I queried this with Autotrust, and they said they had done it to make the payment quicker. So, they had read my e-mail. Amazing. Yet they go on to say later that my original mail, with the scanned invoice, did not have an attachment of my Word document. To prove it they sent me a screen shot. Now call me cynical if you like, but anyone can detach the attachment and then do a screen shot. I did a riposte with my screen shot with the attachment. Added to which I also sent a screen shot of the follow up e-mail with the password, which they denied they had received that too. Now, would you say that if you saw this in the e-mail and there was no attachment, you’d write back and say it wasn’t attached?"Encrypted file attached with bank details. A separate file will follow to enable access. NOTE it is case sensitive."There screen shot even shows those words in the e-mail. Yet they also included a copy of my original e-mail which contains the Word document. When I wrote back with my screen shot, I suggested there clearly is something wrong with their e-mail system. They recommended I make a formal complaint via their system. Damage already done, and no acceptance of guilt.I guess the company will come back with some platitude and ignore all of the above.
This company expects you to pay monthly installments to then say you have to pay the bill yourself and reclaim the money from them, they then withhold your money for 28 working days effectively having all your instalments plus the money owed in their accounts.Poor service and poor customer care.
I have had two occasions over the year of this policy when I have needed to claim from this company, they refused to pay either time, I`d have been better off without the warranty because it would have saved me time on admin. In the most recent case a door lock solenoid was failing but these guys say I have to wait until it fails and the garage have to potentially damage the door card to get to it for repair. This warranty covers next to nothing and isn`t worth the paper its printed on.
