I was, will now say, dooped. I have heard nothing from ATS. I call, and call, and call ...and all I get is CRICKETS. As of right now, I have no idea where I stand.Granted, even to collect the last $300.00 I owe them has been uphill ...guess that can be seen as "a positive?"
⛔ WARNING: Total Scam - $1,700 Stolen and Zero Service in 8 Months!Review Text:I am writing this review to warn others about the fraudulent practices of American Tax Service. I signed up with them for tax assistance [mention the month, e.g., 8 months ago] and paid them a total of $1,700.To date, they have provided ABSOLUTELY ZERO SERVICE. They have not filed any paperwork, provided any consultation, or delivered on any of their promises.For 8 months, their strategy has been constant delays and empty excuses. Every time I call, I get a new story: "It will be done this week," "Our specialist is unavailable," or "We're checking on it." It is clear this is a systematic scheme to take money from customers and provide nothing in return.DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY WITH YOUR MONEY OR YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION. They are unscrupulous and operate in bad faith.I have kept all records of my payments and every communication. I am now taking legal action and filing formal complaints with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).Save yourself the immense frustration and financial loss. I hired ATS to get tax/back taxes resolved. They haven’t done anything they said they would do nor, do they answer the phone or call you back promptly. [I mean mouths] I’ve sent an email to the seller and got a email back saying. “The email address doesn’t exist”.So after calling them 12 times getting sent to voicemail where nobody calls you back. Going through all their phone #s I could find, I found one where the operators answer the phone, calling another 14 times. I’ve received 4 calls. 2 of them where a person tries to make you feel obligated to their service or treats you like you’re an idiot, and play the blame game. The lies are never ending, they try to convince you that they called you 14 times. Or how the guy selling me the “service” wasn’t telling me the correct info on the “service” he sold me.1 of them telling me they would send an email with forms to fill out, and wouldn’t answer the phone when I had questions.I even emailed this person with, zero response. That’s when I started to figure out how to resolve the issue myself.I have explained to them that I don’t need them as, I have figured out my own tax issues, and that, I want a refund. Due to lack of communication and action.I borrowed from the banks to get this resolved, now I owe $21,000.00 plus interest. They told me that sending corespondents to the U.S tax court and the irs wouldn’t work, and how much I need them for their “protection” from the irs. That’s not true either. Why wouldn’t you give back something that isn’t mine or yours? Letting me pay for nothing? Not doing what you said wouldn’t be making money, it would be stealing money.I will reach out is, bullcrap, I know how they “reach out”. With bullcrap. Nobody has called me or emailed me. Just another fear tactic.Does the irs send official correspondence with your name and address hand written ? Google says…“Official correspondence from the IRS will not have your name and address handwritten; it will typically be printed and include specific notice or letter numbers. If you receive a letter that appears handwritten, it may be a sign of a scam”“To spot fake IRS mailings, look for specific features such as the IRS logo, a clear reason for contact, and a notice or letter number in the top right corner”.Welp, that’s interesting isn’t it?I erased my last post due to not knowing the facts about the matter. We must bring this to the grand jury, if everyone gets involved that. ATS has ripped off, it will help to stop these criminals from stealing money from people out of fear. The grand jury can investigate anything they want to. Nobody can manipulate them. If they even try you can ask them yourself, who gave you this information. Then whoever gave them the information will be under investigation of the grand jury. Please look at this closely… I told ATS I wanted a refund. Privately and publicly.ATS response was, false documentation supposedly from the IRS. ATS have sent me lawyers to figure out what I know. They think everyone is stupid. If everyone says this is bullcrap, it’s bullcrap.As I have said before in this message. I’m paying $21,000. For nothing. They have declined their service by, not serving me.I paid them in full via. credit. I was contacted in June by Steven, their salesman, who sold us a dream. Unfortunately, the reality has been nothing short of a nightmare. Since then, we’ve been handed off to multiple account managers because the first two left the company, and here we are in September with my taxes due on the 15th — and absolutely nothing has been accomplished.This has been a complete waste of time, money, and energy. I truly regret not paying closer attention to the other negative reviews before signing on.
In July 2024, I hired American Tax Services at 101 Convention Center Drive, Suite 1225, Las Vegas, NV 89109, to assist with resolving my tax debt. I paid $2,495 for your services and promptly provided all requested financial documents.Despite my repeated attempts to contact your office, I did not receive proper communication or assistance. Eventually, I was sent paperwork instructing me to complete the same forms again within 30 days. By that time, however, my account had already gone into default, and I am now in collections.Because of your company’s inaction, I was forced to hire another firm at an additional cost of $4,500 to address the issue. This has caused me significant financial hardship and stress.
BE VERY LEARY OF THIS BUSINESS!!! I WAS SCAMMED!American Tax Services did nothing for me in the year they were supposed to fix my tax issues and charged me 2500 until I stopped payment. The company kept sending me redundant paperwork requests from 5 different case handlers who for some reason had no contact with the other previous case handlers. (I suspect that this is a stall tactic while they collect your $).I found out that the office of ATS has never contacted the IRS about my case and now my wages have been garnished, due to lack of action. My last contact from them was a letter stating that they could no longer do business with me after I told them that my wages had been garnished.I am now stuck doing almost the same paperwork for the IRS to see what my payments will be on taxes and interest that I should not owe. I found out that the BBB has revoked their accreditation due to fraudulant business complaints and reports of the ATS scams. I have also recieved an alert that my SSN and personal info was reported to be found, ON THE DARK WEB, the exact week that I started sending in my first paperwork/personal information to the ATS office.There have been two atempts of fraudulent charges, on my bank accont, but they were thankfully thwarted by my bank.PLEASE HEED MY WARNING and THINK TWICE before doing any business with American Tax Services. I'm sending good luck and prayers out to all of you who are going through any IRS tax issues.God Bless.

I wish I could give no stars! This business is a scam! The make a million promises and even promote early payment, would guarantee expatiated great results! I came to them to help my taxes. After numerous calls and emails with no responses I asked for refund! I ask to speak to manager no response! I reported to credit card company then all of a sudden my identity was stolen this was the only company I gave all my information and even my bank accounts got hacked! I reported American Tax to FTC and now they are investigating this fraudulent company! Take this message serious please so know one else would have to experience this nightmare! All promises are lies even the 35 they claim as complaints! I have met 100s that have not did reviews all where robbed by this company that’s now under investigations of fraud!
Major scam! Fake investigation $500 to tell you nothing except to lure you in when you are in fight or flight & scared because you are getting nastygrams from the IRS. They ask for huge upfront payment & say they will communicate w your IRS agent & take care of everything for you. FALSE, they then dont communicate, miss deadlines & appointments where you are left hanging & could get in major trouble. I had to reach out & communicate with my IRS agent myself, who was more helpful than they were. I cancelled all services, asked for my money back, waiting for deposit back. Run, run, run......
Do not , I repeat go with these fake scammers . They did nothing for us and charged 4000 . They took 4 months to do our taxes and never called IRS for the money we owe . We reported them and they sold our information. Our bank accont was jepordized . We had to call all 3 credit bureaus to freeze our account . they are theives . The initial contact representative is very talented in selling you a dream. He gets you hooked & sets up their full payment upfront while still guaranteeing me that I would get a 100% Forgiveness of all IRS Tax Debts. He says that he examined my financial statements & is certain that I will qualify for a Fresh Start. When you leave him there is a big change in the level of responsiveness you get. They ask for my documents & then they came back to me saying I owed $5K for the 2023 year & that I can pay them an additional $3500 so they can do my taxes for the next 3yrs (after $6500 that has been put in a 3yr Payment Plan with another horrible agency United) or pay IRS $5K now. I urge them to reevaluate them & include my LLC information. It now comes back where I am entitled to a $1200 refund.After they realize that I am no longer dealing with Chemo Brain & can see clearly, I get nothing but delays. They wait 2yrs from April 2023 until April 2025 to talk about any real solutions. Their solution is an inflated Payment Plan of $715 per month for 72 months which is the total $50K that IRS is saying I owe. So being a Cancer Survivor on a fixed income, I can not afford that large amount. Also where is this IRS Forgiveness Program I qualify for??? They now have 6 months of Bank Statements that show no monies left over but hand me this nonsense like its a true good faith offer. Mind you I am able to drop $3K in penalties in one phone call to the right person at IRS. So actual they just added an additional $8900 ($6500 over 3yrs) to my $50,000 owed to IRS. I don’t see that as help but as a Criminal Act so I will pursue the steps necessary to have my day in court with the ATS company working out of Las Vegas. I ended up having to refinance my 18yr Mortgage up to a $500 more per month & go back to a 30yr Mortgage. They set me back with their lies. The only one worth anything is the Tax Preparation person Melody, the rest of them criminals need to meet justice!!!
STAY AWAY! Ruthless scammers! They prey on people in financial hardship and facing tax burden. Like most lawyers they will use disingenuous empathy and manipulative conversation tactics to stress you into taking their deal as the best deal there is for helping you resolve your tax issues. They gather a lot of your information saying they need it in order to determine the cost of their services while this I later realized does not require personal information like address and ssn. If you are struggling financially they make it seem like they’re giving you a great deal to pay their law fee and you on a urge you to sign documents they email to get started but before you even get a chance to read over to what you’re agreeing to and even if you don’t sign anything and change your mind, they have already charged the charge card you provided on file in order to get the documents of service and breakdown. I spent a week, trying to contact the attorney (Grady Johnson) I spoke to and emailing back their secretary (Anna Smith) who sent the documents to please refund me the $200 they immediately charged me before I even had a chance to read them and without signing anything agreements. I wanted to wait to before considering to take their services because I needed to pay my rent first and needed more time to my next pay check to have enough to even pay their offered payment plan for services. I received no responses at all. I searched them and found reviews here where people described having similar scamming situations with American Tax Service. I am behind on rent and already faced a $100 penalty fee and warning for eviction because I still didn’t get the refund money from these scammers that have saved up for rent while trying to work, barely recovered from my disability. I got their number thinking it was the tax department because their made the notice look like a official letter from the state Tax collections that had the correct breakdown of what the tax dept. sent me before that owed and an official print and warning that said could be facing lawsuit and imprisonment. DO NOT FALL FOR THEIR GAMES! They add more stress and financial hardship to my life that is already in devastating shambles.

Don't waste your time or your money on this company. They take your money and will get ahold of you until they have it. after that you will not be able to reach your caseworker. then after 9 months of them sitting on there hands doing nothing and me canceling service in July 2024. this weekend they got into y bank account and emptied it. took 767.55 out I wasn't even a clint. I checked them with the BBB don't go by that, speak to a rep and you will find out why I say that means nothing. I'm trying to save someone the pain I have gone throughMichelle Warrick Ohio
Avoid this company at all costs! They are a scam. They took my money and did nothing for me. I called the IRS myself and they told me that no one from their office has contacted them in over a year. They do not return calls. They do not resolve anything. I don’t want to see other hard-working people get their money stolen from them by a company like this. Avoid these people they are negligent about taking care of your tax issues.
This is about the scammiest company ever. I recently had some tax liens (federal and state) but the federal was paid off a few months ago and the state is in a payment plan (so I owe, but there is no lien). I got a mass mailer today that looks like a notice from a court or government agency. The letterhead is a whole bunch of "official sounding" words -- "Tax Processing Unit", "Internal Processing Service" (trying to sound like "Internal Revenue Service", right??), "Nassau County [NY]" (trying to appear to be from a county government office), and "Public Judgement [sic] Records" -- but completely fictitious. There is no such government agency or office. The only identifiable information (besides MINE) was a toll-free number. I called the number and tried to get basic information from the representative who answered -- only told that the name of the company was "The Tax Group". I confirmed information (that was already in the letter, so not giving away anything confidential), said I didn't think I owed any taxes and the representative hung up on me. I called back 9 more times, and the treatment was basically the same every time -- I would ask questions to understand who the company was, how they got my information, who sent the letter, etc. I would get vague answers that they were a tax resolution company, with main offices in CA, CO, NV, and TX. That they were also called "American Tax Service" (the website I was given -- americantaxservice.com -- shows a company address in Las Vegas, NV). And then I would get "transferred" (i.e., hung up on). I spoke to a total of 8 people in 10 phone calls; none would give me the mailing address of the company and none knew who had sent the letter (some said a 3rd party non-profit, some said only a 3rd party). To be clear, the letter violated Federal laws on deceptive practices. Also, the various names of the company -- "American Tax Service" or "The Tax Group" -- are so generic that it's difficult to verify information about it. American Tax Service has at least 2 websites: 1 of them (atstaxgroup.com) provides NO COMPANY information except a toll-free number; the other (americantaxservice.com) is only slightly less scammy.
