Terrible experience. The car is faulty, including engine management issue and clutch. Communication and collection arrangements have been difficult, and the matter is now being handled through my credit card provider - avoid.

Totally bogus.Yes, "brake checking" is dangerous. Is it illegal? There are numerous valid reasons for suddenly applying brakes. The duty to maintain safe distance (normally 2 car lengths) falls completely on the driver of the fallowing car, thus if a car in front suddenly brakes, the safe distance allows for the car behind to stop in time to avoid collision. Tailgating is illegal, not braking.
