Absolutely NOT what it says on the tin!

Absolutely NOT what it says on the tin! It’s cry it out sleep training at the end of the day. It’s stroking your baby then phasing that out. Or talking to them through a speaker then phasing that out too. I wish I knew at the time ALL sleep training, including the ones dressed up as ‘gentle’ ‘supportive’ ‘no cry it out’ at the end of the day revolve around withholding comfort. Whether it’s cuddles, feeding or rocking. They all end in leaving them to cry which obviously doesn’t teach them to sleep, it only teaches them that you won’t respond to their cries. It’s absolutely heartbreaking how many babies suffer at the hands of companies like this who are blatantly lying to parents.AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!Follow heysleepybaby or happycosleeper for actually helpful advice.

This company is a scam

This company is a scam. Paid around $1600 for the so called sleep school that was supposed to provide support for a few years. They were responsive originally but no longer reply. If there are any lawyers or other parents who have been scammed by Batelle, I would like to join a class action lawsuit against these crooks.

Company is not being truthful.

We purchased the programme that was to provide support for our daughter up to 6 years. Our toddler was going through a regression so we reached out to Batelle through the app - over 2 weeks and no response. The email listed on the website bounces back. We paid a huge amount in return for ongoing support that we are not going and I doubt we will. Something has happened with the company which they are not disclosing and acting like everything is BAU on the website. I would suggest to avoid at all costs now.

Batelle is bust

This company has gone bust so avoid at all costs.Note also that Trustpilot has flagged that Batelle is in breach of its guidelines:"This company is breaching our Terms of Use by displaying Trustpilot content in a way that could be misleading. This could look like showing an inaccurate star rating in sales materials, displaying reviews they’re not permitted to use on their site, and more."

We started using this programme with my…

We started using this programme with my son when he was roughly 7 months old in 2022. It was not a miracle cure as they claim it to be but it was super helpful. The system at the time was very supportive and interactive. We paid the one time free and were promised assistance with sleep until my son turned 5 years old. When we transitioned my son to a big bed we ran into some sleep issues and tried to reconnect with the service. I was so disappointed with the quality at that point. The advisor was super paternalistic and essentially told us the method wasn’t for us as I didn’t feel comfortable locking my son in his room (this, despite the written material stating that door guards are parents choice.) We disengaged with the service at that point and navigated the big bed transition without a door guards, door lock or gate using chat GPT advice and our own instincts. Recently, our son has been dropping his nap so I tried using the AI chat function and the messaging service with no response. When I contacted the email advice I got a response saying “ Dear valued customers, Thank you for reaching out!In honor of the festive season, our team is currently away. Your inquiries are important to us, and we want to assure you that we'll prioritize responding to your message as soon as possible. Warm regards. Batelle Team” Both my emails were sent in July and August so I can only conclude that they do not actually monitor their emails. On balance, there are some good things about the program but honestly, just save your money and use chatGPT as Batelle does not offer the follow up support that they claim to.

They got to big and don’t seem to care anymore

We loved batelle when we first used them for my son in 2022, but we were promised help with sleep all the way up until my son turned 5. Well, here we are not even 4 and they won’t return any of my emails and took my app log in away. I believe they got to big and lost the true sleep school they once were. We were going to do it with my second son and when we went to register him it was NOTHING like the system that we did with my first.

Didn’t think we’d make it. Thank you, Sam

Our situation was not easy. Our 2yo son was dealing with severe separation anxiety after a cruise where we spent nearly a week sleeping together. When we got back home, he could no longer sleep by himself. We coslept for a few weeks before realizing it was unsustainable. Tried to retrain via Ferber but his ability to climb out of the crib, open doors, and stand at the baby gate for several hours made it clear that we needed a more gradual approach. After reading more about Batelle, we signed up and met Sam. It was a grueling 4 weeks. While we almost didn’t make it and there were periods where we were really questioning if we could continue, I’m happy to report almost a week of good sleep. Sam not only helped us wean off the pacifier - something that he had been addicted to since infancy; she also helped us get him to sleep by himself again. That means we say goodnight, shut the door, he doesn’t go crazy, maybe there is a night waking, but he is able to fall back asleep with a few messages over the baby monitor. It truly was an incredible journey. We are beyond appreciative of Sam’s firm but loving support. She helped us through what we thought was impossible. Our entire family’s sleep has been restored.

We are beyond grateful for Sam and the 1-1 Package

We are beyond grateful for Sam, our sleep consultant at Batelle. From the very beginning, Sam went above and beyond to support our family through what felt like an impossible sleep journey. Her approach was warm, compassionate, and so incredibly thoughtful — she didn’t just hand us a plan and walk away. She was with us every single step, providing guidance, reassurance, and the most helpful tips to get us through every tough moment. What stood out the most was how empathetic and understanding she was. Sam truly listened to our concerns, never made us feel judged, and approached everything with such calm and kindness. Her support was never one-size-fits-all — she tailored everything to our baby’s needs and to us as parents, which made all the difference. Thanks to her (and the amazing Batelle program), our child is now sleeping independently and peacefully, and we’re sleeping too! Sam’s dedication and care truly changed our lives — we couldn’t recommend her or Batelle more highly. If you're struggling and feel like you're at your wit’s end, Sam is the person you want in your corner. We’ll forever be thankful for her guidance and heart. 💛

Not remotely the same as 2023

TLDR: about 20 days, $1400 later, hours of crying every night, our six month old is still waking up 4+ times a night. The whole experience was incredibly disappointing and incredibly different from 2023. I honestly hate writing this review because we did Batelle in 2023 and LOVED it. Without hesitation, I signed up again and paid $1400 again for my 6 month old. The new program is NOT the same, the support is not helpful, and overall, this is super sadly not worth $1400 at all. They've changed much about their program - no more Hug, no more real-time camera help. Now, rhe base program is just the class with an "AI" that is an incredibly basic chat bot. Unfortunately, I do NOT believe it works as well or is remotely as worth it as it used to be. I honestly wish I was wrong because I would gladly pay $1400 again for how amazing it was the first time! If you look at reviews, from a few years ago, it's nothing but 5 stars. Now, look at the last year, and it's full of 1 star reviews. 1)Way more crying than beforeNot only were the recommendations from the sleep consultant different than what was in the Batelle app, it included recommending our 6 month old cry for 80 minutes. (example: told to do 10 min of engaging, quick break, 10 min of engaging, quick break, 10 min of engaging, quick break. Our baby fell asleep for maybe 3 minutes - and we were recommended to start OVER again and do another 40 minutes before we should pick him up - that is 80 minutes of crying) I committed for at least a week - and was literally up 4-5 times a night with my baby crying for an hour or more. This is when I started to get discouraged and felt like we weren't making any progress. 2) Paying for the one on one sleep consultant is not worth it- The sleep consultant asks for updates every morning and then would respond with everything we did wrong...ended with "but you did great!"- After a few days of just feeling like I was being scolded every morning, I finally asked for different feedback, saying "I would really appreciate some motivation and encouragement that he's making progress instead of a laundry list of everything I'm doing wrong every night." - Half the time, she asked questions that I had already answered in my morning update, making me feel like she wasn't reading anything in depth.3) There is zero guarantee of money back refund like there used to beAfter over two weeks of trying (keep in mind I'm sleeping maybe 2 to 3 hours a night with him screaming all night - and being told I'm still doing something wrong and he's "coping well") I say I like to stop and get a refund.I'm super polite about it, saying I don't think it's working and I would just like a refund. (Keep in mind, they used to offer a complete guarantee and money back promise… They no longer offer that) Their response is to suggest I "graduate" from Batelle and end the program....what?! I just told you how it didn't work, my baby is still up four times a night, I'm out $1,400, and you offered to have me "graduate" the program, signaling success. I say "This feels very tone deaf to offer graduating with success to a mom who's now out $1,400 and waking up multiple times night."They get super rude at this point and go off on me. I send screenshots of where it says on their website that they offer a refund. They say "We just removed that today; it shouldn't be there." 🫠Super disappointed overall. This was a TON of crying (that they recommend btw), expensive, and not remotely worth it.

The best $1,250 spent this year --…

The best $1,250 spent this year -- $1000 was for a month of help from Sam, our sleep consultant, and $250 was for the app. The consulting fee included 30 min slot meetings with Sam twice a week for a month, messages on the app directly with Sam where we gave her updates in the morning, pre-/post-naps, and how bedtime went, and email instructions every night. She would always give very helpful feedback and constructive criticism where needed, and tailored specifically to our situation. Just like everyone else considering Batelle, my son has always been an awful sleeper his whole entire existence. It only got worst after he turned 1, and it went from 50% sleeping through the night to practically 0% for half a year straight with wakeups sometimes lasting up to 2 hours. So when he turned 1.5, we were desperate and needed to find a solution. We've done some form of sleep training several times, but it just didn't really stick whenever he got sick or went through a regression. I was also not a huge fan of CIO methods. Also tried cosleeping but he would still cry a few times a night by my side.My son is now a pro-sleeper. He knows the drill at bedtime and knows that wake up time is at 6:30am when the birdies chirp (from the Hatch machine). Before the birdies chirp, he just rolls around in his crib and entertains himself with his stuffies or with his babbling. If he wakes up in the middle of the night, 99% of the time, it just takes a quick mantra for him to go back to sleep. We even tested Batelle with some traveling/regression. We stuck with what we learned from Sam, and we got back on track relatively quick. I would highly recommend this program. It does require you to put in the work to read through the materials, stick to the program, and be consistent. The first two weeks were really tough (constant wakeups, a million mantras, a lot of crying but with us sitting right by him), but he started to understand what was expected of him around weeks 3 and 4. The outcome was 100% worth it for us.(My sister also used Batelle a few years ago and had success. Her daughter was 14 months old when they pulled the trigger.)Thank you, Sam! From a mom without undereye bags anymore :)

The hardest thing to do is now so simple.

We were referred to Batelle through a friend who had a baby 1-2 weeks apart from our daughter. We were having trouble with her going to sleep for naps and night time. It was getting worst and worst every week. It got to the point where we’d spend literally hours trying to do all the tricks we could to get her to sleep every nap and night time. She was also sleeping in our bed and her crib and bedroom were unused other than using her dresser and closet for her clothes. Finally, we had had enough and tried out the Batelle sleep training. We were in touch with Sam. Sam had some questions for us and we had a discussion with her. She had us on track real quick and our baby girl by the 1st week was sleeping in her own bed and sleeping through the night. It was nothing short of AMAZING!! We now don’t have to do any tricks to get her to sleep. We just do her bed time routine that Sam and Batelle taught us. Now our kiddo has been on this program for 4 months and everything so far has been totally worth it! We highly recommend Sam and her team at Batelle. They are very experienced and are there to help.I will say the AI piece is not very helpful. Especially when you have a great partner like Sam. She gave us a customized approach based on an extensive 20 minute survey. Highly recommend the one-on-one support with a Personal Sleep Expert for anyone that is sleep deprived and at their wits end to get sleep again.

It works! Great team support but a few glitches

The positives: Our team advisor, Sam, was incredible, and with her help, the Batelle method has helped us move from co-sleeping and on-demand nursing to our son sleeping in his own bed in his own room, often (although not always) the entire night. So 5 stars for Sam! The meh: Elle was not super-helpful for us and mainly just repeated things I already knew. Definitely pay for the team support if you're in a similar situation to us. The negatives: I had a lot of trouble with the app the first few weeks and was overcharged. It was hard to contact customer support and I ended up relying on Sam as my go-between, which isn't really her job. So, Sam FTW - 5 stars - but 4 stars because Elle, the pricing structure, and customer support made a stressful time a little more stressful.

A MUST

I cannot recommend Batelle to enough parents struggling with sleep. We started this while I was pregnant with our second and have not had any issues with our older sleeping. The program makes so much sense and there was so much support. Seriously a life changer and worth every penny

Worth every Penny!

Batelle was and will continue to be the most amazing tool for us a first time parents. Every night when we put her to sleep we’re still in utter amazement of the ease of bedtime and the sound sleep our daughter gets through the night. It’s taken away such anxiety around bedtime and the fear of how many times she was going to wake up. It’s so remarkable I would do it again in a heartbeat- worth the money without a question. We worked with Sam who was so supportive and wonderful and honest and knowledgeable and we cannot thank her enough. Have recommended batelle to anyone who will listen basically!

Would give 0 stars if I could

Would give 0 stars if I could. It helped at first but the second it worked they pushed me through the program and basically left me hanging through any following regressions. They say they will be with you for the first few years and no one is available to jump on a call. They just have AI responding generic responses. Please read all other bad reviews. They are spot on.

I would give Batelle a thousand stars…

I would give Batelle a thousand stars if I could. I read a couple of bad reviews and thought it sounded laughable as the service has excelled. When I emailed customer service they responded within 20 min. Their customer service and sleep guides helped so much when I needed it. It sounds like some parents don't read the service terms of agreements they sign at purchase which sounds like a them problem. My toddler was up every 45 min, the process is tough of course and so hard on me as a mom but she is now sleeping soundly. The sleep guides were like mini therapists for me when I needed reassurance, they deeply cared about getting me through to the other side and they were my cheerleaders. If I had an app issue customer service was on it. If you need a fresh start this company saved my life, my family and my sleep.

Two years later and still going strong…

Two years later and still going strong with Batelle! We have enjoyed just over 2 years of amazing sleep! We started sleep school when our baby girl was about 8 months old. She is now doing 2.5 hours during her nap time, without any support and sleeps from 830pm to 730am. When she does wake earlier than 730am, she will just stay in her bed and plays on her own until the cue for wake up time comes on.Transitioning her from her cotbed to bed was really easy with Batelle's support and also the strategies we implemented when she was a baby from Batelle. We also travel often and Batelle's method has helped us feel in control and maintain consistency even whilst travelling. Timezone changes and jetlags are something they've really supported us with, so the transition from going from the UK to Australia only took a day to get over when we made the trip back to see our families back in Dec 2022. She's since been to 15 countries and it's still as seamless. The support from the sleep school to after graduation as an Alumni has been amazing. Our point of contact, Polly, was just wonderful, but Batelle has also evolved since. Even the information on their app continues to get updated and changes as your baby grows. 100% would recommend!Thank you so much!

Not the Batelle Sleep School it used to be

We signed up for Batelle Sleep School last year and were told our son is too young for sleep school so we would have to do Batelle Babies first and then sleep school when he was old enough. We were told Batelle Sleep School would always be in our back pocket and thats totally fine and honestly why we paid so much ($1250). Batelle babies went well and he was good at sleeping for a bit, but never through the night like was guaranteed he would, but whatever that’s babies, we didn’t mind. As babies do, he eventually got bad again and none of the Batelle babies stuff worked anymore and we wanted to do the sleep school. Little did we know, they had completely changed their program and no longer offered 24/7 live chat or video monitoring for their sleep school; they now have an AI chat robot that responds to you and tells you to review some lessons for help and a real person will get back to you within 24 hours. So my baby is screaming in bed, a robot is telling me to read some PowerPoint slides, and the next afternoon a person will get back to me and give me some vague response that is not all that helpful and may take 24 hours to get back to me again. Batelle is offering this downgraded service for $199/year. I paid $1250 (with a referral discount) last year and they don’t see what is wrong with this. They refuse to give even a prorated refund and try to claim it’s just as good of a program as what we signed up for last year, but if it’s just as good, why does it cost less than 10% of what we paid? The facts is that we paid for Batelle Sleep School, never got to do it, and were not allowed a refund even though their original sales promotional documents they sent before we signed up were covered in money back guarantees. Their solution was to offer me a “service [they] typically don’t offer, typically valued at $1,000, includes two video calls each week, daily chat support with quick response times (no need to wait 24 hours for assistance), video feedback, and a customized plan tailored to your family's needs” but while that’s all fine and dandy, we’ve already gotten our kid to sleep through other methods we had to figure out on our own and that offer is exactly what we paid for one year prior but paid $1250 for it. Might do it next time there’s a regression or something but honestly Batelle customer service has been soured to me now. They sold a service, completely changed it without telling us, keep all the money and refuse to even admit that it’s inferior to what we paid for.

Batelle did not work for our daughter

Batelle did not work for our daughter, which is fair game - they never promised that it would work for everyone. We cancelled within the 30-day window, and were confirmed a full refund back in July. Two months later, we have not received a refund, and Batelle did not reply to two recent emails. As for the phone number on the invoice, it is disconnected. Very poor customer service.

Complete bait and switch

Complete bait and switch. We paid $1500 for this program in early 2023 and they promised support until age 6, but guess what, they no longer honor that promise. I have been telling all my parenting friends NOT to even consider Batelle for this very reason.
