Terrible Customer Support - They break your system and don't fix it

I had a tech come out to replace a motherboard on a WORKING system on Monday, 12/15. No part of my system has been working since.I was just told by Work Orders that they cannot get anyone out to my property until the new year, AND they can't even schedule it as of now. As such, I went from a WORKING system to a 100% broken system, and I have no recourse at all for minimally the next 2 weeks. They won't even schedule me. No wait! Worse than broken. When there is a grid blip, I now need to do a manual process to reconnect my house to the grid when utility power comes back!There should be accountability and responsibility taken by Blue Raven, as they were the ones that BROKE my WORKING system. I'm just getting excuses right now.My current state of my system is:- NO working panels- NO working controller- NO working batteries- I need to do a MANUAL reset of the entire system if my power goes out because of the error state it is in.

Communication and System definition issues

We started our process with Blue Raven back in May. Initially we were offered a standard solar install that did not use the solar panels when the grid went down. This was not acceptable. We kept pushing and then was offered a product called "Sunlight Backup". This system using the panels for backup when the grid is down but only during daylight hours. This system was not recommended because it required isolating certain circuits to prevent overload issues. After several more months we were finally offered a 10K solar backup system to match the 10K solar output. I still was not satisfied so I finally got the Residential Rooftop Solar Permit Package. It provided a lot of information about the solar panels but limited information about the electrical system. Fast forward to November and we finally got our solar system installed. Unfortunately this did not start off well. The solar panels were installed on time and the crew was great. However, the electrical system that manages and monitors everything was started but delayed for 4 days. None of this was the fault of field technicians that installed the components. It was a lack of communication from the management team. First of all I had our electrical panel replaced. The field technician that installed the panel did a great job but when I told him we had battery backup he was surprised because this was not communicated to him and he would have done the job differently. This issue surfaced when the 2nd field technician came to install the electrical system. I told him what the first field technician told me and he spent the first 4 hours trying to figure out the logistics of the system. Neither field technician was the issue. The issue was a lack of communication from management. They depend on independent inspectors to take pictures and measurements to evaluate the system requirements. Unfortunately this approach has a major flaw in that the inspectors do not have the technical skills to really evaluate the final system configuration. If a Field Engineer would have evaluated the site requirements in person most of the issues that field technicians had would have been identified. Our system was started on a Monday and was not finished until the following Friday. Really poor planing. The execution and knowledge by the field technicians was outstanding. Now I am waiting for the final inspection. This system has an app to monitor the solar system. I have requested information about the app but no reply. Holding my breath to see when the final system will be inspected and signed off.

Bloomfield Installation

The installation took less than a day. The crew faced a rainy morning but still managed to finish the installation by the end of the day. The electrician also finished installing the electrical components by the end of the day. All packaging materials were removed from the site and the crew left the site as they found it. So far the solar modules haven’t produced any power because the utility and/or building inspector hasn’t given their final approval. I’m not sure if I need to light fires under them or if it is Blue Raven’s responsibility to make sure that gets done. That is a major frustration for me.

The crew knew what they were doing and calmed my anxieties.

The crew were on time, and easy to communicate with. They cleaned up thoroughly. They seemed to enjoy the company and competence of each other which greatly reduced my own anxiety. Blue Raven took care of all the permits, and re-roofing construction details. I am ever so grateful that I made the investment with Blue Ravel Solar.

Its always the person or persons that…

Its always the person or persons that determine wheather or not you have a good experience in anything doing with services being rendered. They sent out a crew that was friendly and professional. Good combination. I'd like to say that one person stood out in both areas,(Zack) i did experience some power surge issues but there already dealt with.

Everything went well except the…

Everything went well except the following observation. After Solar installed, I did a private vendor inspection, they said insulation got distorted in the attic When Solar guys walked on attic to setup the solar system.It would be nice if insulation readjusted once the work is done. Can you please send someone and fix this issue?

Install was quick once permits were completed.

Greg(main point of contact) was very helpful throughout the process. Other than the minor inconvenience of some siding needing to be replaced, which Blue raven covered, the only downside was the permitting and WE Energies delays. Solar panel install took less than a full day and the electrical was done in roughly the same timeframe.

Good company to work with

Jordan was great to work with. Friendly, knoledgand always returned calls. The workers were friendly amd polite and the site was decently cleaned once they were completed with their project

Tido was awesome/ electrician not so much

Tido was awesome! The best experience of blue raven. The individuals setting up the solar panels seemed nice but we actually never chatted with them. The individual who ended up being the electrician was not a people person and that definitely put a damper on the whole experience. So overall with Tido being so so so great and the electrician being someone we would not like to see again we have given an average of 3 stars.

I am particularly impressed with the quality and performance of the selected RCM panels from RECOM Technologies. Furthermore, the execution by the installation crew was phenomenal. Their professionalism, efficiency, and expertise were evident throughout the entire process. Observing the intricate and demanding nature of the assembly firsthand gave me a profound appreciation for the skill and precision of your team members.While the operational aspects of the project were exceptional, I wish to provide some constructive feedback regarding the initial sales process. I experienced notable difficulties when first attempting to make contact and secure a quotation. I believe this initial stage of customer engagement could benefit from a strategic review to ensure a more seamless and responsive experience for prospective clients.Despite the initial communication hurdles, my overall experience with Blue Raven has been overwhelmingly positive. I am thoroughly satisfied with the final installation and the high caliber of work performed by your technical crew.

Installers were very professional

Installers were very professional. Arrived early and respected property. Cleanup was good but still found quite a bit of mess left in gutters I could see or access, but nothing major to worry about. Recommended.

Installing was really quick

The installation was put in really fast. It looks good up there on our roof. They did however leave a few things and a tiny bit of garbage, but that didn't bother us much.

Poor experience overall even as there were some bright spots

Like - the person supporting the sales process was very knowledgeable and responsive. Like - the electricians. Ok - the installs crew. There is a damage to one of my gutters, the lead person said they will report to the corporate for replacement and no actions thus far. Dislike - process after the sale was done was rather disjoined and lots of delays. We signed this agreement in Dec 2024 and the system was finally live in late Sept 2025 after originally slated for completion in March 2025. There was an issue that needed remediation (new electrical unit design, approval, implementation, inspection) etc and just like that 6 months passed. I kept getting the same thing shipped multiple times (labels/decals) and finally none of it was installed.There was no handover of the system / how to access the app for monitoring production etc.There is supposed to be a sealing of the disconnect and it’s unclear when that will be done. Just like that, the process is over with loose ends ( uninstalled labels, documents in ziplock bag that is hanging by the meter, no follow ups on the damage, sealing the disconnect etc)Rather frustrating experience overall. Yet to see how the experience with applying for tax credits goes.
