Stay away, don’t pay any money upfront, no communication.
After paying this company $3400 upfront, I was contacted one time about my case, asked for additional information, and they went dark for three months. After repeated phone calls, emails, messages, and I even went on LinkedIn to get Logan‘s email address and emailed him four times, crickets. Nothing. I have not heard a word from them in three months. I don’t know about anybody else, but my expectation is at least a courtesy. Follow up phone call after the first two phone calls asking for information. Other people may have had a great experience with this company, but I can guarantee you mine is nothing short of pathetic. Would not recommend them to my worst enemy.

Veterans Beware – Deceptive and Negligent Tax Services
I hired Choice Tax Relief to handle my federal and state tax filings from 2020 to 2023, including correcting North Carolina state returns impacted by a military retirement tax exemption. I’m a 23-year U.S. Army combat veteran, and North Carolina exempts military pensions from state taxes starting in 2021.Despite clearly explaining this, Choice Tax failed to apply the exemption, resulting in a $9,000 tax bill and a $185/month payment plan I should never have owed. They claimed my returns were accepted and that I’d receive over $650 in refunds—none of which ever came. They later dumped the responsibility for a rejected 2023 return back on me and stopped responding altogether.I provided all requested documents, approved filings, and followed up repeatedly—only to be ignored after they got paid.This company is disorganized, unaccountable, and dangerously unqualified to handle tax matters for veterans or anyone with complex filings. Avoid them at all costs.

Bad Customer Relations
I contacted this company to assist me with filing an amendment (adding a missing W2) to a 2021 tax return. Since I am in a foreign country, the 15-16 hour time difference was not very conducive to phone conversations. I asked to please establish communication, initially via email. They tried to call me about 15 times during my Midnight hours!!! All I wanted to do is first explain the situation, so when a phone call could be scheduled, no wasted time. Nope, they would not do it. FINALLY, after a few emails FROM ME, they sent me a quote for nearly $1000 for a very simple fix that I could have done on my own, if I had the original return in my hand. But being overseas, and away from my documents, I wrongly thought it would be easy for them with a power of attorney to access my return through the IRS, get the year in question's return, file the amendment, done deal. but NO! So, I essentially 'fired' them. Or maybe, they fired me with their crazy high fee. Doesn't matter. H&R Block took care of it in 1 day, for $50. There are other places who are not totally in for just the money to get help. I cannot give Choice Tax Relief a favorable review. By the way, the date of my 'experience' is approximate.

Logan has a strong "call center" feel
Logan has a strong "call center" feel. It's obvious you're talking to a call center who takes contact info & hands you off to a "tax consultant." Mary Wilson was mine and couldn't have been less interested in describing the services. She was typing so loudly the entire time I wondered if she was typing every word I said or working on something else and completely disinterested.

Disclaimer :-D I very happy with their answers because it was exactly what I was hoping for. I could reasonably hope for the answers i wanted was because of the excellent YouTube videos they made. The second thing that was outstanding was the super quick response. Two very strong pluses... well explained and quick response.

Grateful for Choice Tax Relief
I found Choice Tax Relief through Logan Allec's free YouTube videos, which impressed me. From start to finish, I felt Logan and his team had a great deal of competency and integrity, and were more responsive in their communication than other CPA's I previously worked with, especially during peak tax filing times. His team successfully prepared and filed an SFR Recon return for me, and the return successfully cleared an outstanding SFR assessment with the IRS.
