Scam
First off, a lot of the *sparkling* reviews here for Direct Textbook are obvious padding. I registered for my account today with the promise of 10% cashback. I should know better than to blindly sign-up for accounts without checking Trust Pilot.Even though my browser automatically saved the password I setup at account creation, my password is suddenly "incorrect." Any and all attempts to recover my password produce no emails in my inbox to reset my password. I also cannot create a new account again using my email. I should have just let my course work be paid through my college and I wouldn't be out of the money, personally. What is most likely is that the owner of the website is being paid sponsored money when we click on the links for "10% cash back." We never see any money but Direct Textbook does.

Cash back isn't real
They show a cash back option for a percent of your books. I purchased a $153 book/access code mid august and my account still shows $0 as of today. Still waiting to hear back from them about the issue. Don't offer it, if it isn't going to happen.

Poor customer service
This site is run by some crook who does not have any sense of customer service. He does not have any phone number to contact him, and he does not take care of issues by email as well. I used to buy a lot of books through this site and accumulated some points which he refuses to let me cash. I sent him a lot of emails and even tried to contact him by phone. All in vain. He refuses to oblige.

Excellent money saver
I'm surprised this site has such a negative overall rating here. The guy who gave it 1 star because he said it was deceptive should have known that nobody will buy back an excessively damaged book. Period. What a stupid reason to rate this site poorly!Direct textbook has saved me so much money when buying books and also when selling books for the most money. Most students complain they spend thousands on textbooks. I think over the course of 4.5 years in college, I didn't spend much at all. I sold back books nearly for the price I paid using direct textbook.

Deceptive
I was misled by the information DirectTextbooks displayed on their site. They prominently displayed that TextbookDollars would buy a damaged book for $80. After I sent my book to Textbookdollars they claimed that this price was only for brand new books and since my book was damaged it had zero value. They even refused to send my book back.

Easy to use website!
Direct Textbook is my go-to website when I need to buy books for school. The website is easy to use and understand. I like how the website is lag free. My favorite thing about the website is the ultimate search bar. I can type in an author or a title and the book I need pops up with all the prices from various companies listed below it. I have used direct textbook for all my book purchases in college. Direct textbook has saved me over hundreds of dollars on textbooks.

Textbook shopping--all the prices on the web in one place together!
I'm not sure I've actually bought anything straight from Direct Textbook, but I have used its search function to find my textbooks and compare the prices at various locations around the web--Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and so on. It's helped me find the best prices on books. I don't know much about renting books, since I usually buy to own (most of my books will be used in multiple courses in my program). However, it's almost always cheaper than the "used" price at the school bookstore.

Best way to find cheap textbooks!
The direct textbook website is very easy to maneuver around. It shows the prices of all the competitive online stores in any easy to compare manner. I have used it countless times to purchase my textbooks, often saving over $100 than if I had bought them at my schools bookstore. It also saved me a lot of time from searching so many other websites separately for the best price. The MyDT option is a great way to save your textbook purchases so that at the end of the semester, getting buyback prices is easy and simple - no need to look up the ISBN's in the books again! The only thing that needs to be fixed with the site, is that for websites such as half.com/Amazon Marketplace, updated results of already sold used books should be sought after so that refunds are not needed.

Makes College Easier!
DirectTextbook is a fantastic website that allows you to search for textbooks in one place and gives you results from many different (reputable) sources. You can buy, sell, rent, and search for ebooks on DirectTextbook. They also had a feature last semester that allowed you to save an ISBN with their site, and they would automatically run a search on it every day to find new buyer/seller listings. This was especially helpful for me, since I had some textbooks that, even though I bought them that semester, no one seemed to be buying back. DirectTextbook helped me locate a buyer. This site's format allows you to compare prices from different sources all in one place, so you can see with the click of a button how much money 30-something different sellers will charge for your book, and it will even compare features on the sellers' sites. For instance, it will tell you if they charge for shipping and what payment methods they accept. Honestly, it's made the end-of-semester buyback process so much easier for me, and helped me recoup more of my losses.

Direct Textbook is the Best book shop ever!
Direct textbook is the ultimate easiest way to book shop. Every semester, I have made sure I get the best deal on my textbooks through this website. Its so much quicker than searching each individual website for prices and options. Direct textbook lays EVERYTHING out for you and I absolutely love it. This website is bookmarked in my favorites and is excessively clicked at the beginning of each semester. I don't think Direct textbook is the best way to book shop, I actually think it is the ONLY way to book shop!

Good price comparison website for getting the least expensive textbooks and selling them back.
I recently purchased textbooks through the directtextbook.com website. The website helped me find the cheapest textbooks, out of many available from around the Internet. Then when I was done with them, I used the site to find a company to buy it back at the highest price. It was easy to use and ensured I paid for, and sold, at the best price.
