Absolutely a nightmare to sign into
Absolutely a nightmare to sign into, even a password change is a mammoth task of which they send constant verification emails all expire immediately. I signed up last year but haven't used it, needed to reset my password absolutely a turn off. Will look elsewhere at this point as time is money. After reading the 3.5 star reviews in forcing paid memberships, think I shall pass.

Company makes it very difficult to cancel any subscription. It literally took me months and there is no life person or a direct phone number to call and get answers.

Worth it, but with caveats
The good:The software itself is impressive and is fairly reliable. I've been using it consistently for over a year now.The bad:The lack of bulk options is frustrating. My main use requires creating hundreds of individual pieces of content. I have to create a folder for each one of them manually. It takes me hours to do so, just creating the folder. Similarly, you can only export one by one, which again adds hours of manual work. On top of that, after a few hundred folders, the UI gets slow. But again, if you want to delete said folders, you have to go one by one. It's extremely frustrating given that we are living in the age of AI. The software itself allows me to do stuff I couldn't by generating all this amazing audio, yet I have to plan for days of manual work.Another thing, sometimes you have a voice that is dialed and is 100% what you want. Then the voice gets 'enhanced' and then starts doing weird stuff. It would be nice to lock down a version of the voice that works for you.

First, but not least, I want say thank you. I really appreciate your efforts in giving small startups like us that chance of creating amazing experiences. You are gamechangers. I am using it in our main startup called airi.chat, and for several other things:1 - Airi.chat with ElevenLabs becoming more airi.voice :) I am using conversational, agent APIs to enhance our customer service experience.2 - I will host a tutorial session by teaching OpenClaw with ElevenLabs to create "Jarvis" next week.3 - My wife will create a Kazakh voice in your lab, those , making it first Kazakh voice in ElevenLabs :)

They responded quickly and handled the situation in a very professional and understanding way. FORCED to pay!
This is an update to my October 2025 review:I've been using this service for 'Text to Speech' for a little over a year or so. I'm an educator, and I write my own textbooks for University level language classes. Part of those texts include long-form reading, and role playing. I found the 'Creator Plan' was sufficient for my needs, and I currently have 200k credits remaining. BUT, Elevenlabs now wants to FORCE me into paying for a MONTHLY subscription, to continue using those credits that I ALREAD PAID FOR! Otherwise, they're going to reduce them to just 10k! No user should be FORCED to pay a subscription fee for something they've ALREADY paid for! I see absolutely no reason why they can't allow credits to be used until exhausted, without forcing us to buy ANOTHER month! And as for customer service? Forget it! You get lumped with an incompetent AI assistant, and if you do try to contact a human support operative, you'll be waiting days or even weeks before getting ANY response!This is a total rip-off!

rubbish, i only joined as i wanted to clone my own voice for a project, it was good at first shot, then after the first try, it was not, there is no option to check the voice. as you only have the option of downloading it. then you have to keep generating to get it right, then takes your credit too. Its a con!

ElevenLabs is top notch
ElevenLabs is top notch. The product is amazing. So many voices that sound human. The ability to add emphasis makes the voices feel so real. And the number of language choices available is cool too. There doesn't appear to be a limit to the amount of customization you can do. Or you can keep it simple and be up in running in no time (literally, you can deploy a functional conversational AI agent in under 30 minutes).And the support team is wonderful. Detailed answers, not just canned responses captured from their own knowledge base.

Unstable platform, Terrible Customer Service
Unstable platform - since launching with them 2 months ago we've had 3 business-hours outages that set us back. We have 3 major open defects with them that support just hand-waves around with "oh that can happen" with no sense of ownership of the issue.Sales is arrogant and elitist. I'm currently spending around $1,500/mo but going into a growth phase that would require an enterprise license soon, but they will not give me the time of day because they are currently only interested in the large deals. They are clearly trying to pad the bench with big logos and get bought. Do not depend on them for production systems!

The deal between Publishdrive and ElevenLabs is one of the greatest scams of the latest years in the book industry. ElevenLabs got the books, but the authors got NOTHING!

Absolutely terrible business practice
Absolutely terrible business practice. I've been using 11 labs for 2 months already using the voice narration and they are already charging me two times The Voice rate for the voice that I chose because it's a premium voice. Fine whatever, but then the day after they charge my account they changed the charge for the voice that I've been using for continuity that I am now stuck with for my media to three times the amount of credits for the same voice same settings same everything. They wait for you to see which voice you're using they wait for you to get deep into your project then they upcharge the voice for no reason out of nowhere because they know you're stuck having to pay and use that voice that is just burning through credits.The moment I am done with this project since I am now trapped by 11 labs and what I've already built, as soon as I'm done, I'm going straight to their next competitor and I'll even pay them double just out of spite.

Usually when being a student you don't have the time to respond to emails or do anything outside of school. BUT with ElevenLabs they were able to assist me and bless me with their student program! When things are so rough, ElevenLabs gave me a giant boost knowing all what i'm about to accomplish with their tools!
