awful company

awful company, do not do business. Bait and switch pricing, items arrive late, caused thousands in damages and refuse to pay the settlement claim. Their customer service team is completely braindead.

Worst company ever! Wish I had read the reviews before…

Wish I had read the reviews before hand. This company is SOOOOOO BAD! Customer Service will literally just yell at you and give you an attitude. I don’t think I could be any more dissatisfied with this company. They should be shut down! I’m hoping my items don’t come broken/damaged as others have said but honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if they never come at all at this point.

Horrible moving company.

If I could rate them a zero I would have. This company overcharged, did not deliver as promised, lost/stole, or damaged over $5000 in house furnishing, tools and antiques. They did not explain the paperwork I was signing and then after over 150 days only offered $268 as settlement.Lousy business.

Horrible experience

Horrible experience. Firstly we booked through a vendor called Frontier Moving Solutions. Never work with them! We were charged $2500 some dollars for this move from MD to PA. We did a full inventory with Frontier and booked a full pack including 75 boxes with Express Movers. They didn’t even show on the decided date due to truck breaking down. They came the following day with the truck packed with other peoples things leaving about 1/4 of the space empty. They told us then they will not be packing liquids and asked us our priority. They only packed kitchen and our bedroom. Pack job was horrible. There was more paper in the boxes than actual items they said they wouldn’t be able to take. There were roughly 5 total guys, 3 of which had to sit in the back of the truck so we shorted space for our things. Despite all the inconveniences we tipped them $200 for their efforts and highly regret even tipping them Horrible, horrible company, if you have booked with them just go ahead and cancel and save yourself the headache. If you’re looking to book with them, then don’t.

They suck

They suck! Over promise and under deliver! They broke stuff of mine and took off without any accountability. I called them to discuss their irresponsible and careless employees and they blocked me.

Very bad👎They scammed me

Very bad👎They scammed me! I paid extra to have my very delicate and fragile belongings moved from Philadelphia to Miami, FL, and they lied to me. They didn't keep their word about assembling all the furniture and installing my TV on the wall. They arrived and just dumped the boxes like trash! Most of my things arrived broken, and they didn't take responsibility for any of it! They snuck away like thieves while I turned my back to send an important work email! When I came out of my room, they were gone, and they left everything unassembled, even though I paid extra for that service! They are crooks! Don't hire this company of shameless, despicable, abusive people! They charged me almost $6,000, and everything arrived broken! The nerve of them! And I have all the proof!

DO NOT USE---TRUST THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS

Extreme Coercion, Deceptive Pricing, and Breach of Contract - A Moving Nightmare with Brightside Moving Group/White Room Moving and Express Movers Services Inc.***Brightside Moving Group is the same as White Room Moving---their Licensed Moving Broker DOT and MC numbers are the same: DOT: 4139079 | MC: 1586606***Date of Service: June 27-29, 2025Job/Order Number: M2147272Companies Involved: Brightside Moving Group, LLC (Broker) and Express Movers Services Inc. (Carrier)I am filing this complaint to warn other consumers about the egregious and allegedly unlawful practices of Brightside Moving Group, LLC (Broker) and Express Movers Services Inc. (Carrier) during my interstate move from Woodbridge, VA to Charlotte, NC.The nightmare began with the broker. After providing a detailed inventory, my initial binding estimate of approximately $6,000 on June 23, 2025, was drastically and inexplicably increased to over $16,000 on June 25, 2025, with no new information on my part. Due to severe time constraints, I was essentially forced under duress to accept this inflated, revised binding estimate, paying a total deposit of over $6,158.34.The unprofessional carrier service and breach of contract followed. Express Movers Services Inc. was nearly 3 hours late for the scheduled pick-up on June 28, 2025, and attempted to increase the cost again on-site. This led to a heated, recorded call with both companies, where a critical agreement was reached: the remaining $10,200 balance would be split into two payments (50% on arrival, 50% after delivery/setup). However, the coercion escalated at delivery on June 29, 2025. The carrier was 3.5 hours late for the agreed-upon delivery. Immediately upon arrival, the company manager unilaterally abrogated the 50/50 agreement and demanded FULL PAYMENT IN CASH/MONEY ORDER within 20 minutes. The manager explicitly threatened to take my property to a local storage facility if full payment was not immediately received. As a senior citizen in my 70s, I felt under extreme duress and feared losing all my possessions. My wife and I were forced to drive to multiple stores under immense pressure to obtain money orders to pay the balance in full, despite the prior agreement and prior verbal assurances that Zelle/Venmo would be accepted. In summary, this constitutes a serious Breach of Contract due to the violation of the recorded 50/50 payment agreement. It also involves Coercion/Unethical Practices through the use of explicit threats and a tight deadline to compel immediate, full payment, which is an unacceptable and potentially illegal business practice. Furthermore, there was Misrepresentation as Brightside Moving Group provided inconsistent information on accepted payment methods (Zelle/Venmo) that the carrier refused to honor, and the company showed a blatant Failure to Adhere to Agreed-Upon Timelines with significant, unannounced delays for both pick-up and delivery.I strongly urge anyone considering these companies to look elsewhere. The combination of deceptive pricing from the broker and the coercive, threatening tactics from the carrier resulted in a highly stressful and unacceptable experience.

The company holds you hostage and…

The company holds you hostage and triples moving costs when they arrive for the move. At this point you have no other choice due to the moving dates. We had over 30 items, some of which are irreplaceable, broken and damaged. If you want to be scammed and a company that has no regard for your belongings this would be your choice.

Total circus

A broker took my inventory over the phone and kept assuring me they were “experts.” When the movers arrived—Express Movers, the company I was brokered to— immediately said I needed double the space and started adding charges for items the broker had said were included, like my exercise bike and sectional sofa and stairs. The price more than doubled on the spot. The coordination between the two companies was a total joke. The broker and Express clearly never spoke to each other, and neither took responsibility. Express played dumb, saying, “The brokers told you wrong.” Then they're on site and you're all packed up and you can tell them to leave but can you really? It's ridiculous.Delivery was another nightmare. I was told my items would arrive within 2–12 days per contract. Upon pickup I was told - 4 days. When I called for an update (3 times), Express kept saying, “We’re loading the truck now,” for days on end. I finally got the driver’s number—he told me he hadn’t even left New Jersey yet. My belongings didn’t arrive for two weeks, and when they did, several pieces were damaged, including a very sturdy coffee table and an iron lamp. The whole operation is a circus—one company takes your deposit, another picks up your stuff, a third delivers, and nobody is accountable. I would never use either company again or any brokered mover, ever. Save yourself the stress and go directly with a reputable company, even if it costs more. You’ll thank yourself later.

Brightside Moving/Express Movers

1st time hiring a moving company. Brightside is a broker who gets a list of items. They take a down-payment and then hand off to a third party mover in this case Express Movers.Apparently the movers go by square footage which Brightside doesn't tell you and should and, imo, prepare you for an upcharge by the actual movers when they arrive to pickup your items.Do not expect the delivery day to be the day quoted. Expect delays. Fortunately Express called and gave me a time frame but there is miscommunication between the office and the actual movers themselves. I was pleasantly surprised when they delivered within 7 days from pickup. Then there usually will be an additional upcharge at drop-off if there are stairs or any other obstacles or criteria. I would try ones best to avoid hiring movers as they are expensive and do as much of the moving personally as possible. Even renting a truck can get expensive, but you will not have any financial surprises and be responsible for your items personally (no loss, no damages, time frame, etc...) I understand that is not practical for many, but it is recommended.

Do not Use!!!!

The staff that delivered my stuff attempted to increase the price with their truck outside. I am missing items and some of my items were damaged. They also left garbage outside of my front door. Stay away from this company!!

Worst movers ever - scammers!

I contracted with Brightside moving who subcontracted with Express Mover Services. The two companies are in cahoots to underbid moves, make you sign a contract and put down a deposit, then they show up and tell you the price is double. This is despite and item by item review and pictures of every item. The only reason Express Mover Services would give for why the cost doubled was because my items “couldn’t be stacked”. When the truck finally arrived days later than promised at its destination I took pictures of my items all stacked in the truck. I have moved 7 times and these were by far the WORST movers I have ever had. Their phone lines don’t even go through and they are a complete scam. Will charge you extra fees beyond what you are quoted. Stay away!!

DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY

DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY. They are the worst. They came to my house 3 hours late, workers were in slides and sandals. We had already a quote that we had already paid but once there the foreman contacted his manager nicknamed Anthony and right away he told us that we needed to pay more without giving us explanation of the reason why the increase. Then they said if we didnt pay it they would not do the move. After asking to give us details the manager Anthony said he didn’t have to give us any explanation and said if we didn’t want to pay the additional cost they wouldn’t do the move and said he didn't care for our business that he had a lot more. In this process we had already lost 3 more hours. They DAMAGED our floors, walls and carpet. We were in a rental house and lost our deposit. They didn’t take any responsibility for anything. They were treating our stuff without any care even items that were fragile. If this wasn’t enough once they took our belongings. They stopped answering our calls, we had no idea where our things were stored. We had to hire a lawyer to get answers. Everything was a lie their customer service is non existing. Finally after working with our lawyer and over two months of not knowing if we even had our things we finally received our belongings they left trash tape and boxes and said they didn't have to pick it up. Overall this was a horrific experience. Please please DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY THEY ARE THE BIGGEST SCAM EVER.

**Do Not Hire This Company** GM Anthony has no customer service skills

**Do Not Hire This Company** if I had an option to go negative stars this company would get it. My move with Express Movers was horrific. To say it was a nightmare is putting it lightly. Horrible customer service, even worse customer support and the General Manager Amer “Anthony” Zubidat has no customer service experience or values. Yelling and telling his paying customers that this company does not need my money. In the end I had to get a lawyer involved just to get my own things returned. Express Movers Services kept my belongings hostage until I paid the created amount owed. No receipt. No proof of payment. No documentation on why they increased payment. They hire unprofessional movers that arrive three to four hours late, arrive in sandals and shorts, and damage your property when moving. No wall coverings no floor coverings and no protection of your personal belongings that are being moved. They spilled black paint on my rugs and took no ownership in cleaning. Stating that it was my fault for leaving paint. If you want to be scammed and overcharged; plus treated completely horribly by a laughable customer support go with them. My two cents pay the same overcharged price and go with a better company.

Missing box - Express Movers does not respond

I contracted with Brightside to move some items. Brightside contracted with Express Movers. BOL M2142397. We insured the items for $12000. They delivered the wrong box. The box they delivered was filled with cleaning supplies. I contacted Express Movers and have had no satisfaction, no communication, no results. Express movers stated that I must file a claim with CSIPROS. The claim was submitted July 13. Claim number 1529-2120. 52 days after the claim was filed, CSIPros state that they cannot process the claim until they receive paperwork from Express movers. I have tried calling express movers and no one will answer. I tried sales, customer service, billing and their operator. Brightside answered their phone and said the only thing they can do is to contact Express Movers. CSIPROS said the only thing they can do is contact Express Movers. So, the people who answer their phone say that Express Movers must respond but Express Movers do not respond.

Terrible Experience

We wanted to write to tell you how displeased we were with your service. First the gentlemen spoke nearly no english. They did not mark/tag each box/item. You were obviously hired as a third party with Frontier Moving. We have a missing TV, Chrome ceiling fan, missing irreplaceable framed cub scout uniform with awards and a Virginia Tech campus framed sketch from the 1970’s. A broken coat rack and most of the boxes were either badly banged up or the plastic cracked. We have placed a claim with CSI. I hope you will be honoring the basic coverage of replacement value included with the your service. The only thing I can say positive about them was they delivered on time. Terribly expensive.I will also be pursuing with the insurance company if the drivers were actually legal or illegal immigrants. They spoke practically no English. They had to play a message on their phone. I want to know if they actually pass their drivers license test. I don’t know if you need a special one for the size of truck, they were driving.

Moving is stressful enough, they will add to your stress!

I’m only choosing to give them 2 stars because the drivers we got were very friendly. That’s the only good thing I can say. My husband and I went with this moving company because we thought they were a reputable company. We were wrong and should’ve done more research. We moved from New Jersey to Florida with barely anything (literally just an tv, a dresser, some bags of clothes and boxes) and still ended up paying around $4000. Not only that but the movers came July 18th (WAYYY AFTER THE TIME THEY SAID THEY’D BE THERE) and we didn’t get our stuff until August 07th at 11pm. Between the time they picked up our stuff till the time they dropped it off they could never really tell us directly where our stuff was. They had a hard time keeping track of our things and while my husband tried to contact them several times about it they would take days to respond back. When the boxes did arrive, they were smushed and looked like they had been wet or something and they ended up giving us the wrong tv! So we don’t even have ALL of our things. We filed a claim a week ago and still haven’t heard anything! This is totally unacceptable and I’m sure whoever’s tv we have probably feels the same way. If you’re looking for a moving company I’d advise you to look elsewhere! Save yourself the headache and stress. Moving is stressful enough.

Terrible. Do NOT hire.

Terrible moving company. Hired them through a broker. Got an estimate. Movers arrive after midnight after rescheduling multiple times and looking at the same list of items (actually less!) and somehow the estimate jumped 250 cubic feet and they designated normal sized furniture as bulky for additional fees and add-ons. Then, they arrive late and of course my items look like they’ve been thrown around. They didn’t want to take their trash to the dumpster claiming it costs them extra to do so (never heard of a moving company not taking their trash out). I finally unboxed my television and see that they somehow dropped or threw my TV around so hard that it broke through the styrofoam cushions, protective box, additional protection and shattered the screen. Do not hire them and if they somehow wind up as your movers after booking through a broker, CANCEL. Do NOT hire this company. Please. They do not care about your items.

The company picked up my things on July…

The company picked up my things on July 31st. After nearly two weeks there is no delivery details, I have no idea where my belongings are, and I am sleeping on the floor with no clothes for my new job since I was told the items would've arrived by now. Do NOT recommend this company if they can't keep track of the items they move and deliver on time.

You'll probably get your stuff eventually

Two stars as move-out and move-in were streamlined and easy---this is no reflection of the drivers. However, the in-between was like pulling teeth. My earliest delivery date was 7/15. I made it clear multiple times to customer service that I needed to know as soon as possible when the delivery would be, as my apartment building is quite strict on move-in timing. One week before move-in on 7/9, I called Anthony, and he told me that the truck would be there on 7/15 morning, and I made arrangements as such. The night before, I called to confirm and was told the truck had not left yet and would be leaving tomorrow. This happened for 5 straight days, where I was told the truck would be leaving, and it did not. When the truck finally did arrive on 7/20, I was told I would have to pay an extra $500 for a "shuttle fee" as an 18-wheeler can't reach my apartment, which no one made me aware of despite having my new address for 6 weeks. I'd consider other companies in the future.
