This is one of the best AI tools out on the market right now. If you are a line producer or a project manager on a film then you need Filmistage. It is going to make your life all the more easier and integrates perfectly with movie magic. after a short learning curve, you’re gonna find that this is going to save you tons of time and give you a great breakdown of your budget and schedule.

Still needs a lot of bugs fixed or some better programming. Spent more time editing the breakdown then I expected. AI really doesn’t know how to schedule properly. Hopefully this will improve as the concept is good but they need to put a lot more AI training to be able to do it. I’m sticking with MMS.
Alina was terrific! I was having trouble uploading my pdf file to Filmustage and she helped me get that done, as well as explain some of the tasks I would be doing, such as merging duplicate characters. She was very patient and knowledgeable.
The concept is the future but the amount of editing I had to do with the details and the schedule, almost made it more work than what I would have done doing the old way. I’m on the fence with this. Probably won’t use it again.
The experience of having AI significantly shorten the process of script breakdowns, scheduling and budgeting was fantastic. However, I found out quickly that I was not able to rely even just a little bit on AI to make the scheduling and the budgeting accurate. I spent more time editing than I had planned for, and that quickly became frustrating. For students who are just learning the process, I do not think this is beneficial unless they are working on a short film and small budgets.

BEWARE FALSE PROMISES ON THE UPGRADES - I upgraded because I thought Budget would export to Movie Magic Budget but it only outputs PDF which splits the page mid-row and to excel which is useless so I've spent hours of work for nothing. I would have been better off using Movie Magic and build the budget from scratch. Very frustrating - the support chat wakes up very infrequently to answer my queries - very inconsistent.
The software improves every time I use it. I've been working with it for years. It really comes in handy when I need to put together a rough schedule really quick.
Filmustage was a very valuable tool for me making a first pass on breaking scripts down to then build budgets off of. However I became more impressed recently with their customer service and their understanding of the tough times film industry employees are going through. When my yearly subscription was renewed I was not in a place financially to afford it and they were able to issue me a full refund and understood my situation. I really enjoyed the product and look forward to renewing my subscription once I have my next gig in place.
This is an excellent, well designed and very useful product for production planning. I am the writer/producer of an historical fiction streaming series. Filmustage was crucial to developing a budget for the production of the pilot episode using a virtual production methodology. By automating the breakdown of the script by scene, sets, costumes, props etc. and assign specific imagery I was able to disseminate detailed information to vendors who could provide quotes that I had confidence in.
I came across Filmustage two or three years ago. Having worked in film and mostly television production as both a VFX Supervisor and Director for forty years, this AI tool is absolutely amazing. It is such a help. For those who know, if you're an AD finishing an episode on a Thursday night with your next episode's concept meeting the next morning, prepping can be challenging. With Filmustage, it can do a breakdown of the episode in minutes while you read the script. It will hand you the necessary departmental documents to come in to that meeting better prepared and ready to discuss this new episode. Because it can do a breakdown, stripboard, along with a host of other tools to check legal and now with a budgeting tool and VFX as well, Filmustage is such a help with the ability to be pliable and adjustable for more detailed notes and information compiling during prep.I have used it on four of my own projects and am always loving the ease and help that it provides. The good news is that Filmustage is being made more robust with each version that is released. That translates into greater efficiency and more time saving. If you work and live in production, then you know time is money. There is no time to waste and the more efficient one can be the more prepared and the more options the show will benefit from. I truly love Filmustage.
