I took a vintage motorcycle fairing for renovation and spraying at G&D. It had poorly attached old paint layers and some obviously prominent casting marks. The price quoted was (in my view) high, but I expected a professional service in return. No mention was made of any “cash only” arrangements. Three proposed completion dates were all missed with a selection of reasons including “we ran out of hardener”. At no point did the company contact me, I always had to phone them. On completion the work appeared to be of poor quality. The casting marks were unchanged and no attempt had been been made to sand them down despite them being in a prominent place.There appeared to be a piece of dirt set in the paint. On querying this I was told it was inevitable when spraying fibreglass (which I’m told is untrue) I was then given a slightly lower price for cash only. The owner declined to take a card payment. My impression is that the fairing received very little preparation, no quality checking and a quick spray in a dirty environment. Since then the company has made no attempt to contact me or resolve an obviously sub standard piece of work. For this reason I would advise you to avoid G&D Smart repairs.
