Easy purchase of a Honda Shuttle. A bit disappointed they didn't fill the tank before sending me off even after asking for it. Car was vacuumed, but not cleaned.

Faulty pumps
Not sure what the car business is like but the fuel pumps they have outside the business are an absolute scam. I paid €60 for diesel as I was fairly low at the time, the pump accepted payment and gave me 25cents worth of diesel and then turned off and asked if I wasn’t a receipt for the fuel. Was not impressed in the slightest

I bought a car (Toyota prius) 2 years ago from great island motors and it has been the most reliable car I ever owned! Just back from the NCT and iIt passed with flying colours! Thank you to the lads at great island motors for fitting it in for a service on short notice - I am very grateful to you! Great choice of cars at a reasonable rate and the staff are always on hand for advice and regular servicing post sale!

Inaccurate information and appalling customer service
I bought my car from Great Island Motors which I collected 27th Jan 2023. I was assured that the car had a full service and 4 new tyres which I accepted as truth. The first issue was 2 days later the driver window snapped while the window was being lowered and the hassle trying to get this garage to address the issue and get them to return calls or emails. It was something that could have been easily sorted by them but turned it into a very stressful and drawn out process. On the advice of Great Island Motors I brought the car to a local garage to look at the window when they took the door panel off they said the cable had clearly previously snapped and a temporary patch up job had been done with superglue twine and wood, when I told Great Island Motors this their salesman acted like it was a complete surprise. The next thing that happened is more serious as there is a clear safety issue. My car went in for a full service on 22nd December to my local garage and following service they said car required 4 new tyres as a matter of urgency as they were a hazard. I explained that I only had the car since earlier in the year and 4 new tyres were put on it at that stage .. they said not possible as the tyres were Bridgestone which went out of production 10 years ago which is 2 years BEFORE the car was produced .. I would never return to Great Island Motors .. I wish somebody had warned me about this place .. like most people I worked hard to get the money together for my car… my best advice is Proceed With Caution with regards to the accuracy of information from Great Island Motors .. if there was a -1 rating option that’s what I would give Great Island Motors Cobh

Honda fit
If they told the truth when they sold a car I bought a Honda fit and was told no problem with getting parts I damaged the bumper and six months later still have no parts stay away from Japanese imports

AMAZING VALUE AND WONDERFUL FAMILY COMPANY!
I rented a BMW from Ray and it was a pleasure dealing with this company, great value, class customer care, great cars, and if looking to rent a top class car at good rates talk to this company first.
