Arrogant, overpriced, and with particularly poor service

My camera was serviced by the Nuremberg branch, but the service was particularly poor! I had already emailed them stating I was on holiday in China and wouldn't be home, requesting I collect the camera from the store. Yet they proceeded to post it directly to my home! Thankfully a neighbour collected it for me; otherwise, had it gone missing, it would have been yet another waste of time! When I enquired about payment for the repair costs, they still haven't provided any guidance to this day. Moreover, the repair quality was abysmal! My camera screen broke during normal use, not due to external force. The screen casing wasn't properly secured during repair and is visibly crooked.Overall, this repair experience was utterly dreadful! I own a 1960 Leica M3, and that M3's build quality is far more reliable than modern Leicas.

Unexpected - LEICA with a shockingly bad Trustpilot score??

Who would have thought that LEICA would have such a bad Trustpilot score?THINK VERY CAREFULLY BEFORE BUYING LEICA.I've been a loyal Leica customer for years - with over 100KUSD in purchases across their different products.I bought a Monochrom TYP 246 from them a while back. And now several years the later Leica does not sell the batteries to make the camera function.I'm sorry but this lack of support is utterly unacceptable from Leica - or any other supposed luxury or professional-grade brand. What utter amateurs. WTF am I supposed to do with my Monochrom TYP 246 now?? Turn it into a doorstop maybe? Here is a copy of my response to their staff in London who parotted the corporate line:"My current experience with my Monochrom is not "long-lasting" and far from a "first class experience".Further, if "To ensure the long-term and reliable usability of Leica products, the company is committed to ensuring the availability of essential accessories and spare parts over a long period of time." then could you supply me with several batteries for my camera?? Apparently not. So your words are hollow. So basically I have to wait for Leica to get it's shit together before I can continue using its product?? What an embarassment! Lastly, telling me and all the other people in my position "We therefore regret to inform you that despite our intensive efforts and close cooperation with reliable suppliers, the battery for the Leica (Typ 240-246) is currently not available." Is a display of sheer incompetence and lack of forward planning. You have to ask yourself, if Leica can't plan for a consistent supply of batteries for its cameras, in what other areas is Leica falling short? Camera design? Firmware or other bugs?

Disappointed with Leica UK.

Sent in my Leica Q3 for warranty repair due to a faulty AF/MF lock button — likely a manufacturing defect, similar to the well-known corroding sensor issue in older models. Despite valid warranty, Leica refused the repair, citing minor cosmetic wear. Appeal was rejected without real investigation.Leica doesn’t participate in UK ADR schemes, so customers are left with no fair escalation route. For the price of their products, I expected professional support — instead, Leica once again avoids responsibility and leaves loyal customers out in the cold.

Contacted Leica in search of eyecups…

Contacted Leica in search of eyecups for a 1980ties trinovid binoculars. They emailed me back the next day and send me, a couple of weeks later, 2 new eyecups, for free. I only mailed them to find out where i could find them. Now that's great customer service!Great binoculars for a lifetime.

The D-Lux7 is really great, but Leica Inc. customer service is terrible.

The D-Lux7 camera is really great, except they should have made the battery compartment door metal, not plastic. I have heard a lot of complains about it. Mine broke recently.Absolutely terrible customer service:My camera was still under warranty and it has been registered on Leica Inc. website. When I contacted Leica Camera Inc in NJ for repair, they told me that my camera is indeed still under warranty and I need to send it to them for repair. I paid $45 for shipping and later was informed by Leica Inc. that the repair will not be covered by the warranty because I purchased the camera through Amazon. They presented me with an estimate for $350 for the replacement of a plastic cover on a battery compartment. If I knew that the repair would not be covered, I could have replaced it myself for $16. I contacted the Leica Inc. customer service several times and asked them to come up with a solution to repair our relationship. They bluntly refused. I am really frustrated with the supposedly reputed company being so unconsidered to their customer.

Purchased Leica Q3 on 12/15/23 Breaks in 2/24 Part in May?

Purchased Leica Q3 on 12/15/23. Loved the Q3. Used it exclusive of my other cameras. Stopped working. Dropped off at Leica headquarters for repair in early February. Did not get in queue until Feb. 16. Notified March 18 that part( mother board?) is backordered to at least May. Leica offered a loaner - when they have one. Glad I have my Nikons and Fuji. Not worth the hype. Maybe better solution is buy a Panasonic and get a Leica lens…or just stay clear of Leica. My 6 grand plus another grand in batteries and new cases could have been in an account collecting dividends or invested in the market. Never have had an experience like this in nearly 60 years of shooting.

Problem with the Boston Leica Store

On 15 August 2023 while I was visiting Boston, Mass., I traded my used Leica equipment (M10 camera, SL1 601 camera,50mm Summicron-M (v5) and a 35mm Summarit-M (2.4) at the Boston Leica Store located at 74 Arlington Street | Boston, MA 02116. The store valued my equipment for $ 6,650 which they promised they will deposit in my bank account within 2-3 weeks. I provided the store with my bank account and all other information as per their request. Unfortunately, I never got my money as promised till today even though 6 weeks have passed. I contacted the store manager and the other store staff several times by emails and phone calls but with no result. They recently started ignoring and not replying to my emails. I have since then left the USA and now I am back in Kuwait so I have no way to follow up personally with the store or even return my equipment and just cancel the deal. I have copies of all receipts and documents that prove my case and I would appreciate if anyone can help. I also urge whoever in Leica to help me get my money. Thank you very much for your understanding and cooperation

Leica is supplying optics to kill children in UA

Leica is supplying Russian forces with optics to kill civilians and children in Ukraine. Their profits rose by 16% during the war due to extra exports to Russia. Avoid at all costs, this company has only profits in mind.

Avoid at all costs

Bought 2 x M-A bodies and a Summilux 35mm. Both were shipped with dust in the viewfinder. Sent both back and was assured they recalled all stock from the stores in Germany as this was very odd. I was assured that the replacement would have been thoroughly checked and signed off from the technicians. Received the replacement after over a month and again dust. Yes, that took over a month from this so called luxury brand!! No express courier and they tried to tell me that UPS didn’t offer this service (Did you ever hear such absolute lies) Any Japanese brand I have ever bought can have a camera back to you in under 2 weeks repaired/serviced. I had spent €15k and they didn’t give a damn. Refunded everything as their QC is absolutely disgraceful. I wonder how they can even charge 8k for a digital M. Analogue M cameras at 5k each and they can’t even get dust out of a viewfinder or have it sealed properly. I have had multiple cameras from 3-4 Japanese brands and never had such a ridiculous issue in many years of use. I called the Berlin store throughout the whole process and one of the sales people even stated “Yeah we have been having a lot of problems with analogue cameras”. So what the hell does that tell you! 15 years I waited to be able to afford a Leica and lenses and was buying 2 as they were seeped in history and when I finally had the funds it was a complete and outright utter disaster. I emailed head office 4 times and didn’t even get as much as a reply. They don’t give two f@&ks about customers - I had read about their diabolical repair and service times and thought I’d take a chance… I didn’t even get that chance as I didn’t even get out the gate with them. Avoid this brand/company and don’t even waste your time as you are a nobody to them no matter how much you spend. I was a NEW customer ready to be part of the family but they are too up their own back end to even want to try and fix my issues and just ignored me. I’d never recommend them to no one from this experience. Disgraceful. Simple fixes overlooked and they call themselves a LUXURY manufacturer. I have point and shoot cameras that have better quality control!!
