Raw in the middle.
I'd been wanting to try this cookie for years. Today there was no line and I was hungry and in the mood to drop a penny. Ohmygoodness the first bites were so scrumptious. But then I got to the middle and it wasn't cooked 😞And then I got a stomach upset that lasted the rest of the day. I'm sad. And will never eat from there again and can't recommend it.

Favorable experience with Levain Bakery; not perfect, not extraordinary, but good
Good experience with Levain Bakery mail order and website. The Levain Bakery cookies that we sent to a few business clients were well received. I thought the Levain Bakery cookies would receive accolades, but, they didn’t, so I wonder if it was the cookies, or the recipient, that are shy of enthusiasm.Email communication from Levain Bakery, with order updates, was good, but, not consistent between orders. Unfortunately, Levain Bakery does not have a Customer Service/Customer Support team that you can talk to, by phone. I don’t like that! Levain Bakery tells you that it may take a few days to get an email reply from them, to an email inquiry. Between Levain Bakery not having Customer Service representatives, to talk to, by phone, and a 3 day turn-around, on email, that, to me, is a deterrent to doing business with Levain Bakery. However, for mail order, Levain Bakery is a million times better than the awful people at Wolferman’s Bakery mail order; Wolferman’s have allegedly live people to talk to, but, I don’t think there is anything in between their ears. Avoid Wolferman’s bakery, at all expense. On the mail order/customer service side, Zingerman’s mail order is the best, but, they did not quite have the cookies that I was looking for, Levain Bakery did.
