They Lied About Everything — My Belongings Never Left the City, Much Less State

AVOID NATIONWIDE MOVING INC. AT ALL COSTS.My experience revealed multiple red flags that consumers deserve to know. After taking my items and deposit, the company sent irregular, inconsistent phone calls and text messages that never aligned with the truth. I later discovered that my belongings— which I was repeatedly told were “in transit” — had actually never left the pickup area. They were held within two miles of the original location for weeks with no delivery date, no updates, and no accountability.During this ordeal, I learned that the operator is not licensed for interstate moving, despite using a legitimate DOT number to win customers’ trust. Once they have your items, everything shifts to a shell company, and communication becomes nearly impossible. After weeks of deception, I had to travel back across state lines to retrieve my own belongings myself. I was also promised a refund of my deposit that has never been honored. This experience was costly, stressful, and avoidable. Do not trust this company with your belongings.

This so called moving company is a…

This so called moving company is a complete fraud. They mislead you into thinking they're managing your move when in fact they are the go between and hand your items off to other unqualified, dishonest, stealing individuals. By the time my things arrived, there were items missing and a lot of stuff broken and damaged. After filing a claim, I only received about $100 measly dollars for all my lost/stolen/damaged valuables. If I could give a zero rating, I would do so. DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE OF HIRING THESE SCAMMERS!!!

DO NOT BY ANY MEANS RENT FROM THIS…

DO NOT BY ANY MEANS RENT FROM THIS COMPANY AT ALL! I thought this was the moving company but they’re actually a broker (Nationwide Moving Solutions) and by the time I found out who the real movers were (Seventh Generation) I had already paid nationwide a deposit. If I had known and seen the reviews, I would’ve taken my business elsewhere. When the movers came to my home, (all my items save for my bedframe, a small armchair, coffee table and two storage bins, fit in one single bedroom). They took one look and immediately decided it would cost way more. I asked how did they know, they stated the company (nationwide) who hired them knows nothing about moving and you don’t know what you’ll pay until they tell you. I was quoted approximately 2400 and told the only way my cost would increase is if my inventory list increased (and it didn’t) I went over my final list with Richard and everything was set. The movers miswrote information on my inventory list for example calling my small arm chair a “sofa” proceeded to ask me uncomfortable questions about whether or not I live alone and if I’m alone in my city. (They asked this several times in different ways) by the end of the day they padded my invoice with an additional $1,200. They will absolutely scam you out of more money any way they can, including having drivers charge you an obscure additional fee because by some magical shift your items take up more space than what you were told. (They damn near doubled my cubic square footage) if you hired them for cross country be prepared to be told after the fact that they use 18-wheelers and If they don’t fit down your street (which essentially guarantees that they won’t always fit down your street, even though they will have your address in advance and know whether or not you live in a home or apartment building) they will charge you a “shuttle” fee but was told by a young woman on the phone it’s not a flat rate, I was told the driver decides what he will charge me. Then another individual I spoke to calculated what the shuttle fee would be for me and I was told an additional $600. I tried to seek help and work through this amicably before delivery but You can expect to have your phone calls and emails ignored until the last minute. I have email chains, I even have video footage of the movers wrapping the so called “sofa” I shared all this information days prior to delivery and was told they’re (nationwide) is working on it, but it appears nothing was every actually done. Then the day before delivery was bullied into an explanation of my contract by multiple people from Seventh Generation including a gentleman who threateningly told me I better pay or I’ll have a problem. I’ve already filed with the BBB, the CA Department of Consumer Services, I have contacted the CA Attorney General’s office and I will be reaching out to other proper authorities as well to have seventh generation as well as nationwide investigated for false advertising, fraud, and predatory practices. I notified both the broker and the moving company about the inappropriate line of questioning that left me feeling extremely unsafe and did not even get so much as an apology. Go with someone else and do not schedule your moves with a broker.

RUN!

RUN!! RUN!! They are Brokers! Mark is the nicest guy until you have paid your deposit, and he's has received his commission. Your shipment will be sold to the LOWEST Bider. Who most likely is using a rental truck from Enterprise, or U-Haul to transport your shipment. RED FLAG. Writing from experience. Presently has a lawsuit against National Moving Services and their contractor Alpha Moving Services, LLC out of Navada. My four-bedroom, 3200 sqft. home of 42 years of military travels of memorabilia, antiques furniture, with Japanese silk Aubusson Rugs and Ceramic Vases were all stolen. We say stolen because no one can tell us why our shipment was sent and stored in Nevada and not in Delray Beach, FL as discussed and paid for. We were told in January, after two months of awaiting delivery (Nov 28th, 2023) our shipment was actioned off because the owner of the shipping company (Alpha Moving Services LLC 877-0519-0599) neglected to pay the storage fee as per contract. No can tell us the location of the storage company where our furniture was stored. When its auction off, and who bought it. After 24 years of honorable active service in the U.S. Navy there are items and uniforms I would gladly pay to retrieve. No replies. We haven't received any of the many promised updates since January 10, 2024. In fact, our phone calls are going straight to voice mail. We are surprised our cell numbers was not blocked. Google the address of the house we sold and was under pressure to vacate because of our pending closing. 1601 Carmen Way Oxnard, CA 93036 to see what we have lost. WARNING: You will be required to pay your deposit before the company shows up, which I guarantee will be a smaller truck; then you'll be required to pay more for a larger vehicle. Once your goods are on the truck, the insurance won't be as quoted, but pennies according to the weight of the shipment. This was to be done before anything was loaded. We found out that is the scam. Unfortunately, my husband and I are now hearing all the horror stories of moving. Rent a POD, yes it maybe a little more out-of-pocket expense, but your shipment will be safe. I am giving 1 STAR to ensure this is recorded. RUN!!! P.S - There are other pending laws suits on both of these companies. DON'T SIGN A CONCTARCT ANY CONTRACT WITH NATION MOVING COMAPNY

Negative 5 Star they damage my Furniture and House!

Negative 5 Star they damage my furniture damage. The doorway couldn’t move an item I had pointed out from the very beginning was the key thing I needed moved, use them, because got a discount through the realtor, and wasn’t worth it. Tried to charge me more money, then wouldn’t give me money back on the damage they cost to my furniture, they did send somebody to repair the door frame on the house sold to somebody else. Don’t recommend these people very unhappy. I regret using them because of the damage they’ve caused to my brand new furniture.

To WhoTo Whom it Concern: National Moving Service's Seventh Generation Moving & Storage, LLC We hired the National Moving service

To Whom it Concern:National Moving Service'sSeventh Generation Moving & Storage, LLCWe hired the National Moving Service's on Tuesday April 18, 2023. We had paid the down payment of $5,508.60 to secure the moving services of house hold goods from Clinton, Utah to Medina, Tennessee. We were contacted shortly after that time, stating that National Moving Service's had miss estimated our bid. NOTHING stayed the same after that date. We were unable to contact Brandon on his personal cell number or business number. We were unable to contact ANYONE after signing and paying the deposit. The business number, no one answered. We did leave several messages with no response. The movers arrived at our home the evening of May 26, 2023 with a smaller truck. They packed & filled up the truck with in a few hours. The mover's had packing supplies, but never used a packing list or a log sheet of the boxes. None of the boxes were numbered in any way. They waited until later that night to get another truck that was available to load. By the time the movers were finished, it was after midnight and they informed us that we owed an additional $9,793.80 more due to the amount of items we were moving. We paid that with a personal check. (#5294)After arriving in Tennessee, we Contacted the Seventh Generation Moving & Storage, LLC, driving supervisor to give him our new address. We were told, we would have to wait until a truck was available and coming to Tennessee. Found out at this time, our household goods were being stored in California. We waited two weeks for our items to be delivered. On June 26, 2023 a single truck arrived at our home and were told the truck contained everything. We were also told we needed to pay a remaining balance of $9,793.80 before the driver would even open the door of the truck. We paid with a cashiers check. (receipt in paper work)We were overwhelmed with horror to see what was inside of the truck!!! Some of my most prized possession have literally been destroyed. I have included pictures and a description of damage on specific items obtained in your care. We question why my household goods were moved a total of three times? Some boxes were wet, destroyed, and smashed. Nothing in the truck was secured in place. None of the boxes were inventoried or numbered. No one knew what was in any boxes or where it was to be taken in the house. (See receipt of delivery papers) We are missing several boxes and many of our house hold items as they are not here. We have boxes of home goods that are not our items, they belong to someone else. We have called the Seventh Generation Moving & Storage, LLC and told them of the situation. They informed us, there was no way of knowing who or what or where they belonged to. Those misplaced boxes are not numbered either. We know someone else has my possessions of which are valuable to me. I'm sure whom ever has things of ours feel the same way about their personal items they are missing. We are feeling defiled at this point and disgusted with the lack of care and professionalism your employees took when moving our possessions! No amount of money will ever replace the many missing, broken and destroyed house hold items. We are truly heartbroken! We are seeking fair compensation for the lost and damage items! They deserve 0 stars

They deserve 0 stars! They just outsource the moving to a third party. They give you a date and then don't show up on time. If there is a single additional item, or they have to walk 10' further than they expect, they up charge about 50% more than the original quote. I was absolutely shocked at the B.S. they know they have you if you are stuck and need your items moved and you are on a schedule. It is very difficult to change movers at the last minute. They ought to be run out of business. There is no excuse other than pure greed and dishonesty for their business style.

Nationwide dosen't move or store…

Nationwide dosen't move or store anything. They simply take your deposit and go out for quote to actual movers to fulfill your move. You have no say in who they choose, and they wait to notify you with the name if the company that will take your move, well past the deadline to cancel. And if you do cancel say goodbye to your deposit.

Job #1 is getting you to sign their contract and collect a 50% deposit. And they will tell you ANYTHING to get you to sign and pay. After that, you’re on your own.

I wish I could give a 0 star

I wish I could give a 0 star. Limited communication before what was supposed to be the move. Movers didn’t show either day. I was never told what company was coming. Was never given a contact number (like hey expect a call from this number 24-48 hours prior to your move). Dont use them at any cost. I’m now scrambling to find an affordable way to ship stuff across country within the next month. Luckily they didn’t get all the money

BE AWARE OF THEIR CARRIERS!

I knew that Nationwide Moving is a broker when I signed a contract with them. However, when I researched the carrier that they assigned to my move, I was freaked by the horrible reviews on the BBB that other customers gave. I asked Nationwide Moving to assign me a REPUTABLE carrier, and the one that they then assigned had even worse reviews (The BBB gave them an F rating). I was lucky that I canceled my contract within 72 hours of signing it, so I did get my full deposit back. Whew! I am writing this because I want to alert potential customers of my experience. Nationwide Moving shamed me for asking questions and voicing concerns about my contract matters. One guy even told me that I was "a really nervous person who needed to take a deep breath and settle down." Folks, do your homework. READ THE CONTRACT. Know every single item on your inventory and triple check it. READ THE REFUND POLICY, and trust your instincts. You MUST realize that an 18 wheeler will arrive with your belongings at the destination point and, if they can't access the drop off, you will be charged A LOT more. Yes, moving is very stressful, but take the time to read your contract carefully. Nationwide Moving contract is very explicit, BUT they hire horrible carriers to actually do the job.

THIS IS A BROKER NOT A MOVER

First and foremost this company is a BROKER and NOT a true moving company. They own no trucks, storage facility, or anything. They DO NOT have a UDOT# which is what you need to move freight in the USA. They do not disclose any this when trying to sign a contract with you and talk about their availability and all sorts of this. They are basically using a bidding site with transporters who are going to take a cut of the estimate and scamming you. I'm sure because they never outright say anything about their status that this is a grey area of something being legal/illegal. If you are reading this - RUN FAR AWAY. The actual person transporting your stuff is likely going to have several fees that they add on that were not discussed in your estimate to increase their own cut and this is where you will lose even more money. Further, Nationwide calculates in cubic feet which from what I have learned over the last month IS NOT the way moving should be done and is predatory (trust companies that use weight, not dimension). We realized this too late and were stuck with them because we paid a deposit. A lot of moving is done through brokers but beware many are predatory and if you can find a direct shipper this is your best bet. As for our moving experience: This has been a nightmare and while I blame the transporter I also blame Nationwide for setting us up with this predatory company for a quick buck. The company they initially brokered was changed the day of without notice. They sent our final estimate 24 hours before our item pickup on 06/30 with a transporting company that had good reviews. The day of our move a different company with horrible reviews showed up --- 4 hours late. They did not take all of our items the same day and made us wait 24 hours to collect the rest (after collecting additional payment of course). I am not disclosing the name due to fear of recourse because I still do not have my things but that will be dealt with separately. Currently, my items have been sitting in San Tan Valley, AZ (at a third party storage facility that I did not request) while I sit in an empty apartment in upstate Ohio. San Tan Valley is 40 minutes SOUTH of Phoenix (my starting location) and roughly 100 extra miles out of the way from my destination across the country. My items were promised delivery on 07/09 and have not moved a single inch. The transporter is dodgy and said they had a 38 truck fleet but suddenly doesn't know how they are going to move my things because they are "so busy." These are the type of transporters Nationwide will broker your things to. I'm sure this transporter bid lower and got the job at the last second - Nationwide didn't care because it made them a few hundred extra bucks. Do not trust these people and if you have signed a contract and made a large deposit make sure you force them to give you appropriate service. Make sure your estimate is accurate and you know exactly how much stuff you have. Place AirTags in your packed boxes to track them. Ring their phones nonstop until they get sick of hearing from you - they deserve the inconvenience for what you are going to go through.

Contract was with nation wide moving…

Contract was with nation wide moving and storage to move my 86 year old father Inlaw that is blind and deaf vet from ca to Kentucky! Then they gave it toNext stop moving and storageDate of service TBD / 6/19/23 or 6/20/23The service was moving service. Cancelled on 6/07/23Reason for cancellation was! We called to upgrade our service.. was told by national wide to call Next Stop moving and storage. We called next stop and wanted the P.G.S service as stated the the contract.. we called and they had no records of us or are moving. They didn’t know who we were or anything about the upgrade that they offered. At that point we didn’t feel comfortable going forward so we canceled. The very next day nationwide called us. And she stated she understood and would feel the exact same way! Then the next day we had a conference call with Nationwide and next stop moving and storage. They also said they didn’t have our contract and didn’t know who we were and they couldn’t offer us an upgrade.. and again, Nation Wide understood where we were coming from and again she said she would feel the same way. We have received no services at all from them. I feel they do this to a lot of people just to scam money. We gave next stop moving and storage our job number and they still couldn’t find us or know who we were. We signed the contract on 5/17/23 you would think by 3 weeks later they would know who we were! We were moving in another week and a half.. this just isn’t how business should be handled when they take $1044.75 ! I am disputing this charge and will keep disputing it. They should not get paid for no services whatsoever they didn’t even know who we were. Signed 2421 Production Dr Ste 208Indianapolis, IN 46241-4995317-565-6319

THE ABSOLUTE WORST company I have every…

THE ABSOLUTE WORST company I have every been a customer of, sadly. Leo, Todd, Veronica and Chris in the "customer service department" run a crooked operation full of lies and deceit. My experience recommends you STEER CLEAR of this debacle of a company!! It is a scam of a different nature. Their original quote is a giant lure. When the truck they send is "magically" too small they're only remedy is to have you pay for another truck. "Simple fix", they say. The bigger problem with that is the quote for the second truck is double or triple (in our case) the original price. There isn't a big enough negative number to give this company!! They don't deserve anywhere close to a 1-star. But what do they care? They get to steal people's money and get-a-way with it and then move on to their next unsuspecting victim. That is the only "moving" they are good at.

If I could give zero stars

If I could give zero stars, I would. After contract signed, the costs increased, the packing was slip shod and the relo was late and time consuming. Simply the worst customer service in the industry. The subcontractors were cheap and inexperienced and several items were broken, damaged, torn or in worse condition when they arrived. No help from the executives or the management. I cannot recommend them at all.

Worse customer service

The customer service were never help me when a estimate was taking wrong . They make you believe they take care of the situation the first day. Before you sign up the bill of lender with the deposit ,after they get the money you are fxck off , and they never will give you the refund back . Never take the calls . A guy called Mike make you believe he give you his personal phone number to you for comunication but he never reach to you ,this people are miserable . Dont sign anything or pay anything to them.

There is a special place in hell for these guys and all their shady vendors. One of the most awful experience of my life. Run don’t even stop. Awful dealers who take no responsibility for their third party vendors. Awful just awful. Don’t be fooled by their fake estimate. They mean nothing. They get you in just for the vendor to show up and double the cost. The vendor stole, doubled the price and broke my belongings and I have no recourse.

BROKER and Scam! Nationwide Moving = National Moving Services

this is called National Moving Services now and has a 4-star review on the internet (probably paid for) but is the same as Nationwide Moving Services!!! It’s a broker company and a scam!!! I would rather be robbed at gunpoint rather than robbed by what they did to me. The broker company they used was Cobra Van Lines and also so horrible. Please for the love of god do not use this company. If I was wealthier, I’d sue them for the way that they treated me. They were insanely unprofessional and rude and impossible to contact. I was moving from FL to PA for school. I was only contacted about pick-up and delivery of my items 16 hours in advance which is absolutely not acceptable since I had to plan when to empty my old apartment and when to arrive at my new (empty) apartment. They arrived a day later than promised without letting me know until 16 hours beforehand (they assured me they’d let me know 2-4 days beforehand but then no one picked up my calls). Upon pick-up, charged an extra $800 (despite being late and forcing me to work harder to clean the apartment before my lease was up) for hidden fees. Upon delivery, they kept changing the date of delivery 6-16 hours beforehand (keep in mind I had to CANCEL my flight in because they expected me to WAIT IN AN EMPTY APARTMENT FOR 30 DAYS TIL THEY DELIVER — my furniture has been sitting in a warehouse near my Florida apartment for 1.5 weeks). Then when they finally arrived, they charged an extra hidden fee for a “shuttle service” that no one agreed to. And then more for elevators etc — in the end I paid over twice as much as expected. I signed the contract for $1850 and ended up paying well over $4000. For the extremely rude customer service (especially Heidi at CobraVan lines and Jennifer at National Moving Services) and hidden fees and late delivery/pick up, this has been the worst moving experience of my life. And I hired them to make it easier. I wish I just packed my stuff up myself, so please save your money and go somewhere else. I wish I could sue these companies but I hope you all see this and put them out of business.
