Vast choice of quality new books at unbelievable prices

This site was mentioned and linked on a Aviation forum. I'd not heard of them before, but clicked the link. Wow a vast selection to cover all interests and I ended up ordering 3 books at unbelievable prices in the sale. Flat rate postage and they've come through today. Very well packaged and the 3 brand new books travelled well. I can't express how happy I am. Subscribed.

Great value and very well packaged.

Just received my latest order of books. I have used this company for a few years now and always found them to be excellent value. My latest delivery of 5 hardback and one softback books arrived today at a total cost of £32.99 including postage. All perfect condition new books which were excellently and safely packaged. ( not all companies are as careful with shipment).First class value, packaging and service.

Rude owner

Phoned up to see where my order was; it was supposed to be a Christmas gift and as the day is fast approaching I wanted to make sure it would be here in time. I spoke with Chris the ‘owner’ who was incredibly rude and accusatory. I simply stated that the website says it would arrive within 2 days of dispatch and as it hadn’t been dispatched yet (ordered 3 days ago) I was beginning to get concerned. He then went on a rant about how the website didn’t say that, however when he eventually found it did he backtracked and said that it takes 2-5 days for it to be ready to dispatch. This could not be helped and was the reason for my call… to see how much longer it would take for dispatch and if we could speed the process up, but Chris went on to be extremely accusatory and rude stating that was my problem not his. He did not listen to me and was immediately defensive when all I asked was a simple question about dispatch times. When I asked to cancel my order as it wouldn’t arrive in time I was told in no uncertain terms no! There was not an ounce of empathy from this man, he instantly tried to place the blame on the customer and accused me of interpreting the website wrong. Several times I said I was not here to have an argument but to ask how much longer it would take but he continued to be hostile, defensive and incredibly rude shouting over me whenever I tried to speak. It’s no wonder that small businesses are being out marketed by bigger corporations when this is the customer service you receive… I have just bought the same book ready to arrive by Friday. I always try to shop small but I will never give this obnoxious and patronising man my money again and urge you to shop elsewhere. Perhaps it’s because I am a woman that he felt he could talk down to me in such a way!

Took money under false pretences

Charged 20GBP ($A39) to ship a book from the UK to Australia - then they sent a request to an on-demand printer in Australia, and had them print a copy and post it from a location that costs $A10 to post from there to me (after I specifically told them I did not want a copy). Appalling communication about the type of book on offer. Confirmed it was not what I wanted after they posted it. Insulted me when I complained about that. AVOID or if you think they have what you really want ask LOTS of questions before parting with any money. I was totally scammed out of $A61 believing I was buying an original book from the UK. Buy with PayPal so you can create a claim because NMP will not communicate. I bought with PayPal and even after I escalated they NMP argued I should send back the book at my expense - which was printed in Australia - and that locked all communication with PayPal. So even PayPal cannot help you if you deal with this company. Just don't do it.

Gouging postal rates for Scottish buyers

According to Naval & Military Press Royal Mail don't deliver to Aberdeenshire (which means our postie and local post offices should be out of jobs!) and so add £2.50 PER BOOK surchage onto their flat rate £4.25. Have NO idea how they can justify this when Royal Mail deliver across the WHOLE of the UK.

Great range of books

Great range of books available at good prices. Mine came within a week, well-packaged with a refreshingly low amount of plastic. Would definitely use again.

Excellent packaging and service

Just purchased a couple of specialist and difficult-to-find books in the Winter sale that made them cheaper than anywhere else that I could find them. Very good email communication on order processing, and genuinely one of the best-packed deliveries that I have ever received! The books were protected inside several layers of tight-fitting, zip-locked, entirely recyclable cardboard, which ensured that the books were unscathed on their journey to me. Great example of an independent bookstore that is going the extra mile to provide an excellent customer experience. Thank you.
