Complete scam, they do not pick up the calls, they do not wait for you at the arrivals as they claim, they give me a car with an expired insurance and I had to face issues with the police. They overcharged me without notice too... Worst experience ever.
The price was good, and the vehicle was in decent condition. Just make sure to read the rental terms carefully to avoid misunderstandings regarding insurance or deposits. Overall, not a bad experience.
This is a scam.. There is no car company. Just take your money. Ruined our holiday.
I've been scammed in Nador (Morocco). First of all. I didn't get my car on the airpotrt. I had to take a ride with him to another place. When it was time to charge the deposit to my credit card, I was told that the payment terminal was broken and that I had to pay in cash. I was assured that I would get the moeny back when returning the car. When I brought the car back, he wasn't there due to some vague reason. I had to leave the key behind the fuel cap and was told I would receive the deposit back via bank transfer.Since then, I've been trying to get my money back through both customer service and the Nort rental (Carjet) representative. All I get are excuses, one after another.Be cautious and only rent from the other companies that operate directly at Nador Airport with their own Cabin and carparc at the Airport.
What a scam company.Cheap price to begin, fees, fees, fees on pickup! Scam of the greatest proportion. DO NOT USE EVER!
If I could give them 0 stars I would. While I’m New Zealand we hired a small car for about a week. A few days later I noticed we were charged 6 times the cost of the rental. My husband tried calling, emailing and via WhatsApp every day for almost a month. The first few tries he was told they’ll contact accounts department but nothing ever happened. And it’s gotten to the point that even our credit card couldn’t get the money out of them. So… they basically just stole a couple of thousand dollars and no one can do anything about it!
Please avoid them. They are extremely unprofessional and thugs.
THEY DO NOT OPERATE OUT OF TORONTO PEARSON. They used to be on that site but it’s been replaced by jet car rentals who still take North car rental bookings without telling you who you’re really walking with. We booked a 7 seater SUV and jet car rentals DON’T EVEN DO 7 SEATER SUV s. So dishonest, so shady. They don’t deserve to be in business.
I rented a car through their website and called 4 days before my pickup date to confirm the reservation. The person I spoke with said they couldn’t find my booking and didn’t even have the car I reserved. He told me to cancel to get a refund. I followed his instruction and canceled — but it’s been over a month and I still haven’t received my money back.Every time I follow up, they just say it’s “under review.” They also ignore my WhatsApp messages and emails. This experience feels like a scam, and I won’t give up until this is resolved. Be very careful before booking with them.
Fake booking at Izmir airport.I made the booking 22-04-2025, paid a part and received the booking contract. I have asked several for the confirmation. It was confirmed by North car rental and Discovercars.As seen below:North car rental answer was: 06-06-2025 Apologies for the delay, your reservation is confirmed with us.Discovercars:01-06-2025 Yes, the booking is confirmed with us and the supplier for a pick-up at 23:30.Your company had all the chances to say the booking wasn't correct, instead telling me it was indeed confirmed.There was 2 months time between booking and reservation. On the same day as the flight i was told it doesnt excist anymore..
Turned up to collect the car which was a $35 hire and while ultimately I didn't notice in the small print on page 3 of the hirege documents, the requirement to pay a $2500 bond was completely ridiculous. I decided to cancel to hire as I also didn't trust to give them that much money as I didn't think I would get it back in a timely manner. Next hire car place $250 bond
Crooks never rent from them. They don't even own the cars which they do not pay them service is awful and they are thievesAshish Philip is a Crook never partner with him he will take the money and never provide a service.
Trust the bad reviews you read on here. Booked a vehicle with North car rental via discovery cars for 3 days while we was in Canada. We set our pick up point for Toronto Pearson airport as we were flying home from this airport so we could drop the rental back at the airport and then finish our holiday at the correct location for catching our flight.So let's see how things went.Basically they didn't go anywhere.So we prepaid for our rental prior to picking up roughly 8 weeks beforehand so not like it was last minute.Our pick up time was 5pm.We arrived at the pick up location as set our by the email instructions at around 4.15pm.We then rang our shuttle service number to arrange our shuttle to collect the car.In fact we rang that number quiet a few times and guess who answered...... Yep that's right no one. We did however get an automated message to leave a message for an agent to call us back so we tried that.... But alas the voicemail box was full and not accepting anymore messages. So what do you do at this point. We waited a bit longer thinking maybe the shuttle will just turn up, 5pm came and went, we tried ringing again and well nothing came of it, searched through the pick up instructions for other numbers, found some other phone numbers and rang them but they didn't even work anymore.Needless to say after being in Canada already for 15 days and this was our last 3 days left and we had spent the last few hours getting ourselves to the airport to pick this rental up we gave up and booked an Uber to the nearest ENTERPRISE.We made it there with around 20 minutes until they closed and guess what they had.They had the same rental car we requested for a cheaper price and they even had it there right in front of us.Needless to say don't bother with these idiots or discovery cars to book them.TRUST THE REVIEWS Currently trying to get a refund but from the reviews I've read now I'm not holding out much hope of ever seeing that againComplete theiving cowboys
Renting the car easy but I got $115 taken from my account and few weeks later saying it was a parking infringement.After lots of emails and calls they came back to say it was an accident and I would be refunded in a few days. 2 months later I'm still trying to get the refund.
This People are Scammers they have no Office they don’t speak English and don’t provide the service together with VIPcars.com

Apparelling rip off - ruined day one of holiday . Booked a car $159 for 12 days ( cheap i know) only to arrive after waiting for 1 hour to be picked up to told it was now $1390 !!! - reduced to $1190 … I had to walk away and get an UBER ( North car rentals) appalling scammers . VIP car you should be banning them - customers behind got the same treatment. They said i was late- they took 1 hour to get me from the airport !! DO NOT USE them . Couple behind us has reg same treatment . Had to book another car $350 no issues . Utter scammers
I had a truly awful experience with North Car Rental. After a long-haul flight, I received no clear instructions on how to get the shuttle to the rental location. This led to a major delay after being taken to the wrong site. I had informed the company in advance of my late arrival, yet was told my booking was cancelled and would cost an extra $100—completely unreasonable given I had kept them updated.At the desk, I was pressured into paying for a daily toll package with no clear explanation. I was told this was mandatory, even though my voucher clearly stated it was optional. On top of that, I was charged a sanitisation fee and additional taxes that were never mentioned upfront.The vehicle I was given was not the class I booked—it was older, smaller, only ¾ full of fuel, and within minutes of driving, a tyre pressure warning came on. The car also smelled unpleasant and was covered in scratches and dents. It genuinely felt unsafe to drive.Staff were rude, dismissive, and aggressive when I raised concerns. The experience left me feeling shaken, especially arriving late at night as a solo traveller. I contacted the booking agent (Discover Cars), but they didn’t respond until the day the car was due to be returned—far too late to be of any help.I would not recommend North Car Rental to anyone. Misleading, unprofessional, and completely lacking in care for customer safety or experience.
I tried renting a car through a broker, North Car Rental were the supplier. When I arrived to collect the car they wanted to charge me extra insurance, which I refused because I had full insurance through the broker. I ended up walking away without a car. They did not try to charge my card, but still refused to give me a refund claiming I had insufficient funds, without trying to charge my card
Absolutely shocking experience, just collected my car from the Orlando office. My quote was $80. After a 9 hour flight I was forced to pay over $400 in hidden fees otherwise I would have been stuck at the office with no transport. Do not hire from these people, go to a reputable car hire company
