Worst experience imaginable
I have never experienced anything like it. Today they forgot to pay the entire UK team. It’s not the first time. Most of us owe thousands to the tax office every year because they don’t update our tax codes as required. Significantly increases compliance risks with very real impacts for employees whose automatic direct debits default because they haven’t been paid on time. Avoid at all costs.

Late payments and incorrect payments…
Late payments and incorrect payments have plagued my company since Papaya took over payroll. They consistently pay on the wrong date or pay the incorrect amounts. For example after returning from maternity leave they decided to lower my pension contributions despite receiving no approval from me to do this. I then realised they had not changed my tax code for well over a year and I was overpaying tax. When I alerted them to this they said I was wrong in spite of sending proof of repeated tax code notices being sent. I also made direct contact with HMRC to confirm that they were paying tax code changes repeatedly because they had not been applied by the payroll provider. It took me making a complaint and 6 months of back and forth to get this corrected. Two months later and today is pay day but multiple employees report not receiving any payment. Papaya Global claim to be a global payroll provider but they operate like an absolute joke.

The worst possible experience
The worst possible experience, ever. Their responsiveness rate is almost zero. They do not read your emails, and reply with a complete irrelevant answer, few weeks later, if you are lucky. If you are looking for a company to waste your own time, this is your address. If you value your time, please go somewhere else.

Papaya global is wonderful for the goal to have single point of contact and ensure aligned process across multiple regions to the same (or as close as possible) timeline! I do recommend preparing for any transitions but once that is complete the process is smooth and payments are very convenient.

Be careful with this app, because it steals your money! No one resolves issues, and the customer service is the worst imaginable. They say that everything is fine, but they never send the money. They steal, so be very careful. Use it if you want your money stolen.

Very poor experience, please stay away. They have no clue what they are doing, nothing is compliant, payments dont arrive to the employee, they cannot provide a clean payroll summary. No transparency at all in invoicing with many fees that come out of nowhere. STAY AWAY.

Don't trust anything they tell you
Don't trust anything they tell you. Assume every information you receive from them is fundamentally flawed in a way that is legal, but against you. Ask for an external law firm to review every and all contracts. After a few reviews, you should start to understand why you should never have engaged with them and why you can't trust them. We are stuck with them for our EOR. I hope nobody else make this mistake.

Everytime I deal with these guys it's a slow, painful process - even for the simplest request. Same bad experience this year as last year. One week later, still waiting for last years invoices, which should take under an hour to extract......

Avoid Papaya at all costs!
I am a contractor whose client moved to Papaya last year for payments. Since then, I have had a backlog of 5 months worth of invoices finally paid in one lump sum but STILL have some invoices now 4 months overdue! Followed up multiple times on email but each time I get a 'we will look into this' and no action. Shocking service!This never happened before they moved to Papaya and my invoices were normally paid monthly and on time.If you are a finance department considering Papaya save yourselves and your contractors the headache!

Just when you think it can't get worse . . .
The service continues to degrade. When we have a question or need in-country expertise, we get conflicting answers (if we even get answers). I've also noticed recently that the Papaya CSM seems to be trying to answer our questions without relying on the local partners. Much of the misinformation we're getting seems to be stemming from this. They have raised their rates and added additional fees for every little ticky-tack item. Employee payments are late, and our tax payments were done incorrectly in one of our countries. This resulted in us contacting the tax authority ourselves to resolve it, as Papaya was completely unable to resolve it. We are seriously considering looking for another provider. Also, I find it interesting that all the five-star reviews sound like AI written marketing.

You know when the reviews are only 5 stars or 1 star that there is a problem. And there is. We have had new account managers virtually every month.We have payments consistently delayed and not paid to employees.We have frequent requests for incorrect invoice payments.The costs for this service are excessive and the service is terrible. Overall - avoid.
