Customer Service Nightmare
Heads up to anyone shopping at Party City Langley - bought my child a child size Grinch Costume earlier this week. Got it home and took it out to find a large adult size costume with completely different writing (see pic) inside the bag. Frustrating but no big deal and went to take it back today for a refund. The “store manager” argued with me for about 20mins that he wouldn’t refund me for their incorrectly packaged item. Specifically told me it was my job to open the packages and make sure I was getting what the package was labeled as. He wanted to give me store credit - which after not apologizing and offering to refund (standard good customer service) I said no because I honestly don’t want me money tied up on a store credit I don’t need. Finally after pressing him over and over for a refund (about 20mins back and forth where he acknowledged the item was incorrectly packaged but it was my problem for not opening the package and checking) he did give me my refund, but only after being snarky and rude towards me. Moral of story - buyer beware at party city and this scammy behaviour and their awful customer service.

The images they put on their website are all AI the product I ordered looked like thick woolen knit, when it arrived it was like a sweatshirt, with a woven print on it.... nothing like the photo at all. I was gutted as it was expensive, which was why I thought it would be good quality. I paid £35 pound for something that in their words were a cosy knit mini hoodie.... the word says KNIT it wasn't it was cheap sweatshirt material.

Bad, pricey quality balloons
We purchased 12 helium balloons 2 days before Thanksgiving day. And on the main event day (Thanksgiving), 3 of the balloons already fell off on the floor. The quality is bad and pricey. Would not recommend this place.

Awful. The hair spray didn’t work and just made a mess, terrible stock of items and never a good place to look, it smelled like smoke and it looked disgusting not coming back.

No wonder their going out of business. The advertise a stand here for $10 and charge me $31 . on top of that they charged me full price for almost everything even though it was supposed to be 75 to 90% off . Tried calling customer service and they kept hanging up on me . Finally Contacted customer service they just gave me a runaround and refuse to help me . Scam artists.

Worst experience coming here. Came to pick up balloons for my son’s birthday on behalf of my wife, while trying to find our balloons while a supervisor by the name of Brooklyn got annoyed and started showing attitude. After they had made a mistake on our order, they did not want to rectify the issue or take accountability for anything, instead Brooklyn started making snarky remarks under her breath and everytime I tried to call it out she showed more attitude. She got so angry at one point she popped one of the balloons out of frustration, never will I return here and bring any further business to such angry and negative people.

I placed an order to surprize my son with a deluxe balloon package for his birthday for January 13. I called Party City every day talk to different people to make sure for correct deliveries. Not only wasn’t made ruin the surprise and make me miserable. I WILL NOT ORDER AGAIN and please who reads don’t order with them they will ruin your day.

Leave a zero if possible. Would not accept an unopened return. Said only had 7 day window. It was bought for volunteer fire department and we are 3 hours away so hard make special trip to return $100 item. No wonder going out of business. Local St. John’s manager very hard nose as well. Buy online somewhere else next time. Trying shop local but doesn’t work out.

Party City in Orange, CT.I had a Halloween party to go to on Saturday October 26th. I ordered a couple things to make up a costume from a different on-line only company and eventually realized I was not going to get what I ordered in time for that party.So Friday night the 25th, I went on line to see if I could purchase something local and hopefully pick it up the next day before leaving for the party.I wanted a mask, a long dark cloak with a hood, and maybe some dark gloves. I found what I needed except for the cloak. Instead, all I could find at Party City on line, in place of the cloak, was a Black cape, so I included that in my order since it was so last minute. I paid for my order on line the night of the 25th. The next morning I went to pick up my order at Party City, but first, I figured I'd go to Spirit Halloween to see what they had in stock. Sonofagun, Spirit Halloween had the exact cloak I was looking for. I purchased it figuring I'd pick up everything at Party City, and since I was in a hurry, I'd come back on Monday and return the cape, since the cloak was so much better suited for what I wanted.The party went great, and the following week, I went back to Party City to return the cape, which had not been opened at all.They wouldn't let me. Only exchanges. Say what?? The package wasn't even opened.PC: "No returns after the 24th"ME: "But I just bought it on the 25th"PC: "It says right on the receipt, no returns after the 24th. Only exchanges"ME: But your website said you accepted returns, and I did not get your receipt until AFTER I made my purchase"Finally, after going around and around, I had the manager come over. Then she and I went around and around. Finally, she relented and gave me my refund, but probably only because it was crowded and there was a line behind me.But how unethical is that?? To tell customers on your website and they can exchange or get a refund, but then, only AFTER the purchase, tell them just exchanges. I would imagine it's actually illegal."Sure, we'll give you an exchange or a refund, whichever you prefer. That's be $40.00. (Get's paid) Thank you very much. By the way, you can't have the refund".So that's my Party City experience. I'll never step foot in that store again.

Do not trust the makeup
Always check for manufacture packaging date. Bought makeup package from party city. It's now Halloween morning and tried to do my son's makeup. The makeup is dried out. Tried to use water and that didn't work. Looked for a best before date, only to discover it was packaged in May of 2023. Don't buy makeup from a place that recycles products that spoil, from year to year. I don't have enough time to go buy proper makeup now so he will not be dressing up as we have run out of time. Thanks party city. Never again.

I am writing this to inform you of my displeasure with your store and business in Tulsa Oklahoma (5301 East 41st Street). My wife and daughter went to this store location to purchase a blue, hot pink, and green tutu, which they found effortlessly at this location. However, when they checked out the tutu’s that should have been $11.99 each were now $22.00 each at checkout. When I looked into this price I confirmed they were $11.99 online at this very store location, and if I were to do a pickup that is the price I would have paid, not $22.00.Sadly, when I called customer service to ask about this, they told me the stores can put the prices at whatever they want to. Then, I called the store location and spoke to the clerk about our purchase, who remembered our purchase. She said she spoke with the manager when my wife asked about the price discrepancy at the store, and she told me over the phone that whatever the price tag says is what the price is.Needless to say, I am highly unhappy that I could order these tutu’s online at this store location and get them for $11.99, not $22.00. Customer service and the store clerks made me feel like I was robbed and lied to. I am at this point I will never shop at another Party City again, not knowing whether I will be dealing with a conman and thief.I thought about buying the tutu’s online and returning the them. However, when I looked at the receipt I felt like I could return them, but it also stated on the receipt that Halloween costumes could not be returned for money back, only store credit. I felt like this prevented me from returning them even though I am pretty sure that these tutu’s are not considered Halloween costumes, but the manager who I feel like is a snake and a cheat would just lie and say it was a Halloween outfit.

Unethical company with HORRIBLE customer service!
I ordered a product through this website, and when I needed to change the size of an item I ordered, there was no way to do so without incurring additional undisclosed expense. I realized immediately after placing the order that the size would be wrong, but there was no way to modify the order through my account. I tried the text, chat, and call options to customer service and could not get in contact with anyone. Overnight my order shipped. I finally got through to someone via phone the next morning while the chat and text were still not working. They said my only option was to return the package at my own expense. The website does not disclose up front that you would have to pay to return an item. I said that I purposely ordered additional products to be over a $59 purchase price and receive free shipping, so I would expect the company to also cover the cost of return. They said they have no way to do that. I don’t think it’s ethical for a company to operate online if they don’t have any way to help online customers when there is a problem with their order.

Beware buying anything "new"
Employees I had interactions with at many locations have all been great. Just a BEWARE when purchasing animatronics. Purchased one said to be new only to find out it was a return (because it didn't work). Spoke to someone at corporate who just read his line of how sorry he was. Wasn't even looking for a return, just the part that was broken in the "unopened" box. I unfortunately will not shop there again any time of the year.
