High turnover and inept. Not good for Veterans
High turnover, very slow on correcting of errors. Excuses from Representatives, the customer service nonexistent. The company states on the recording when nobody answers. We are closed on observation of Thanksgiving. This was last week recording on Feb25. 2026. if you’re a veteran getting a loan, do not use them use that united lots of confusion. stay away go somewhere else veteran United or a different bank that knows how to work with vets. They are not vet friendly.

The whole process was easy from beginning to end. My only complaint would be that I do not believe Robin Hood gold really gives you any sort of rate advantage. After I started this process, I found out that my next-door neighbor got a better rate from rocket mortgage than I did as a Robin Hood gold member. That’s quite frustrating because I refinanced out of rocket mortgage.

Good rate and a strong start, but had follow-up to get to closing.
Our loan originator (Brianna H) was great - responsive, clear communication and reliable. There was a small hiccup on costs that we locked in on, vs. initial disclosure discrepancy, but she was able to resolve that. Once she passed us to the processing team, that is where delays and lack of communication happened. I had to follow-up multiple times and loop Brianna back in to get to close. Overall, we are happy with our rate, Sage systems are easy to use for sending documents/info, the mobile notary for title was very convenient. Also, be ready once credit is ran, the phone calls are insane. My husband and I had 50+ each a day, and Brianna provided us instructions on how to limit those (though Federal Opt out & Do not call) so would recommend asking your loan officer about that and do it before credit is pulled!I found Sage through Robinhood Gold account which I would recommend based on rate we locked in.

Tim Beck was phenomenal
Tim Beck was phenomenal! Wouldn’t have been as pleasant of a process without him helping to push things along! He was also not pushy or “salesy” which made the process much more enjoyable. I was talking with 3 other lenders who in abbreviated fashion said, “If you go with xyz competitor you will be making a mistake! They are horrible over at xyz.” Tim did none of that. He helped get documentation in order and gave me your best offer.

The loan closed, but the process was unnecessarily stressful and poorly managed. Communication was inconsistent, and I repeatedly had to follow up for basic updates.Very late in the process, I was informed that about $1,850 of seller credit could not be applied, which should have been disclosed much earlier. On top of that, I was forced to scramble on the actual day of closing to satisfy underwriter requirements, despite having nearly a month to prepare. That last-minute pressure was unfair and avoidable.Mark Stressman was the loan officer on my file. I expected more proactive oversight and transparency. I was responsive and provided everything promptly—the delays and last-minute issues were not on my end.Sage Home Loans may close deals, but the process needs significant improvement.

Stressing me out!
While Sage had great rates and provided a detailed cut-sheet with mortgage rates and associated points, their documentation system was unreliable as they requested the exact same documentation numerous times. More importantly, we had to continually reach out to them as we approached closing as they did not know that they were required to provide our final closing disclosure 3 days in advance, so that we could review and get our wire transfer lined up. They made an already stressful process even more so.

Overall good, seemingly typical mortgage experience
Our loan officer, Tripp McCoy was great. He was very reachable, transparent, and got us the best rate of all the people we talked to. The loan processing team was overall good. We closed on time, but the Monday before our Friday closing (after our mortgage contingency), they sent a series of urgent questions about our assets before they could move us to final closing. The questions were valid, but it would've been nice if they didn't cause last minute stress. We also didn't email our final closing documents for us to review until... after closing, haha.

Paul Grady at Sage was a treat to work with when we refinanced our home in late 2025. Very professional and thorough, excellent response time, and always would take the time to make sure that I understood what was going on. The rest of the sage team was also 5/5.
