We were long distance move. Quote one price on contract date then it increased on pickup date and further increased on delivery date. It took 4 weeks when we were told 10 days max.

I reserved services for a move and the company canceled 2 days before the move after receiving my 500 dollar down payment. I was left trying to find a mover last minute and have requested my down payment back for over 2 weeks and finally had to get my bank involved. I would not recommend their service.
I paid a deposit and was told the movers would pick up our furniture on either May 29 or 30. No one showed or called. I called the company numerous times and left voice mails and no response. I had to quickly find another company to get us moved out as we were closing on June 1. I requested a full refund but have not heard from them as of June 8.
Flexible in pricing and willing to work with my needs. These guys are great. Two thumbs up and will definitely use this company again!
I was incredibly satisfied with their services. They are all dedicated, have great attitudes. I am pleased by them making moving speedy, timely, and reasonable. I strongly recommend them!
THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF THIS POST: If you are currently experiencing issues with Selective and looking to these reviews for help, PLEASE SEE BELOW! I talk about the non-profit that saved my move, MOVERESCUE.ORG My Terrible Experience with Selective Van Lines:I had my belongings picked up January 7, first available delivery January 15. I was prepared that my move could take up to 2-3 weeks to arrive, however that was longer than my broker had advised the move would take (NOTE: Never use a broker or believe anything they say). When I had received no calls or indication that anything was happening 2.5 weeks in, I started calling Selective. It was VERY hard to get in touch with anyone. Representatives would tell me they would call me back, and never do so. I never received a call back from them a single time and was calling them multiple times a day, several days a week for weeks on end. The call routing of their main number would often (but not always) take me to the direct line of a clearly junior employee which seemed very odd and suspicious. I was continuously told my belongings would be getting on a truck that week, or the beginning of the next, and someone from their team would call me. And then nothing would happen, I'd call back the following week, and the same process would start again. I wish I could add up the many hours I spent calling 4-5 times a day to get in touch with someone, or on hold, hearing the same exact line from different people, some of them kind and trying to be helpful, others who were short with me and seemed annoyed that I was calling. But all of them equally just feeding me lines to placate me, without actually doing anything. I spoke to the "owner" several times who was at times very aggressive over the fact that I wanted concrete information about where my stuff was, and when it would be delivered. I spent hours of time on the phone, hours more time just trying to get in touch with someone, and had extreme anxiety over the fact that my most precious heirlooms were possibly stolen or lost. I had to cancel several trips because I was never clear when my stuff would arrive, or what would happen if I wasn't there to receive it. The whole experience was fraught because I had so many lies said to me about delivery, I never knew what to believe. I felt incredibly helpless and distraught that absolutely irreplaceable items - photos, journals, letters from my parents - were nowhere to be found, and Selective wouldn't tell me where they were or when they would get to me. THE RESOLUTIONAfter about 2.5 months I asked for the help of a friend and colleague who's the chief counsel of my company. He embarked on an extensive research process of how to deal with fraudulent moving companies - he came to realized that it's a highly regulated, yet highly unenforced realm of business. Through many weeks of networking, he put me in tough with MoveRescue.orgMoveRescue.Org exists to put fraudulent moving companies out of business and restore confidence in the moving industry. I dealt with an amazing attorney named Josh who explained to me what was likely happening with my move and why it hadn't arrived. He then explained their non-profit is a FREE resource to sit on the phone, so I didn't have to, to get action from the moving company. After two weeks of Josh being involved, I finally got the call that my stuff was on the way. THiS WAS 99 DAYS, a little over 3 MONTHS since my first available delivery date. Had MoveRescue.org not gotten involved, I'm not sure how much longer this would have lasted. Thus far I've noted 1 box of artwork missing, but I believe there are 1-2 more. However I feel lucky that the majority of my items arrived and so far I've noted minimal damage. My two movers for drop-off were really nice however they were NOT Selective employees. Pretty much every step of the move is done by different contractors, so don't be fooled by a nice person who's picking up your stuff - it does NOT speak to the quality of your carrier. MoveRescue.org can also vet any company you're considering for a move, as well as assist with the dubious actions of a fraudulent company like they did for me. I am overwhelmed with gratitude for Josh and the MoveRescue.org team. I will never embark on a future move without their help!
This company was unacceptable in every conceivable way. After signing a contract and paying for services, the company pulled a "no call, no show" the day of the relocation. After contacting them by phone and email repeatedly after the agreed upon date and time were not complied with, the unprofessional personnel stopped answering the phone and responding altogether. It was not until someone not listed on the contract engaged them from a number not affiliated with the paid contract did they answer the repeated inquiry attempts. The staff members of Select Van Lines then reverted to being dishonest, having no ethical practices or standards - stating they contacted "someone" stating they would not be showing up to fulfill the contract agreement they made. When asked who they contacted, when were they contacted, and at what contact number, the personnel quickly hung up the phone. After I had spent thousands of dollars traveling across the country days in advance to meet personnel of Selective Van Lines to facilitate the move - rental car costs, hotel costs, plane tickets - the day of the move the Selective Van Lines personnel (after taking my money in down payment and demanding I have another cashier check in hand on day of scheduled pick up), the following people were contacted directly after the "no call, no show" and to date have not had the decency or professionalism to return a single plea for explanation: L ( Customer Service Manager ): R (Customer Service Representative): M (Quality Assurance Manager): , R Moving Coordinator Selective Vanlines, D Owner Selective Vanlines 844-357-2223 US DOT: 3166700 MC: 118679 The first initials and titles, were provided in the signed contract by Selective Van Lines personnel. I have not received the deposit amount paid, nor has anyone responded. I urge any reading this to not invest your time nor hard earned money with any dealings of this company. The alleged positive reviews are all personal associates of the people listed above and are fradualent in content and context. I will be posting this information on all social media sites, yelp reviews, BBB complaint platforms, as well as seeking all legal options afforded. These unethical, unprofessional, and fraudulent actions must end now and calling out such people and business practices is one which I am committed to championing. I demand this entire matter be addressed and resolved immediately, beginning with an apology and return of all funds invested and expended in entertaining the negligent behavior of Selective Van Lines. I am willing to contact anyone at my disposal (including local congressional personnel) to address the liable behaviors of Selective Van Lines, costing me additional storage facility costs, moving vehicle rental costs and time off from work to address the unethical outcomes created by Selective Van Lines.*********In follow up, the reply below further highlights the dishonesty, unprofessional, and unethical business practices of Selective Vanlines. The contract states they would pick up between Saturday and Sunday (April 9 or April 10). The fraudulent behaviors continue as I had flown across country on April 8 to meet them there. The fraudulent document below highlights a refund date of April 9, THE DAY THEY WERE TO ARRIVE TO PERFORM THE DUTIES PAID FOR - which in itself is unacceptable! I would certainly not thank you for not performing the duties you were paid to do, wasting my money in additional costs to meet you across the country, and calling you repeatedly without response. If you had done any of the things listed, I would not have had to call you not follow-up with writing a review that articulates your unethical and unprofessional behaviors. Typing up a fraudulent document in attempt to justify your deceitful and unethical actions will not go unresponded to sir, not now - not ever. Again, TO ALL READING THIS, the unapologetic, unethical behaviors continue even after being called out about them. Do not engage them for any business. You do so at a great risk, as this communication outlines the continued unethical, unprofessional, and unacceptable behaviors of Selective Van Lines.
March 2022MOVE #3613163 The rating should be a 0SELECTIVE VANLINES are COMPLETE CON ARTISTS and scammers. We chose too quickly and paid dearly for the mistake. Once they have your initial deposit, their team act like you are their best friend. Once moving day arrives, they prey on the chaos of the day, and knowing there is no time to switch gears, the fun begins. The driver Joa, demanded $1870 in cash with no receipts, to complete loading and unloading after we had already paid $8000 after an initial $3200 estimate. Since the move 3 weeks ago, we have texted and called at least 8 times asking for a way to resolve these issues. No one has responded. After the truck was loaded and before it arrived with our items, the driver handed me a survey sheet to rate their services.. He stood right next to me staring at my responses. The sham of an inventory list was purposely illegible and no records were provided after the initial down payment for money paid or for items moved. In the end, the movers walked off the job leaving a complete mess of trash, packing blankets and taped items. They did not reassemble much of the disassembled furniture. The supervisor gathered his movers in the middle of the mess and said “we’re done” This man truly was the rudest, most condescending, unprofessional, unfriendly, and non-communicative person I have ever met. Many items loaded on the truck did not arrive, and many items arrived broken. We moved my 97-year-old parents from NJ to NC. They are missing many items that are very meaningful to them…items that cannot be replaced. We wish we could rewind and undo this whole experience. The Better Business Bureau shows a rating of “F” for Selective Vanlines. Check it out. The positive reviews shown are self-posted.
They gave us a great deal! They took utmost care of all my things. This was one of the only companies I found that delivered what they promised with efficiency and professionalism.
I really don’t want to give this company one star but you have to choose one. If you use them be extremely careful. They are liars and cheats that will get you to pay a deposit based off a low estimate then try to increase the Price saying the square footage is different. Also the deposit is non refundable a fact they neglect to mention. When you pay the deposit you are led to believe it is solely to hold your price point. DO NOT pay a deposit until you have a final estimate in hand. The person who you do not want to deal with is Tim P. He will tell you what you want to hear until he gets your money then try to steal as much extra as he can.
Absolutely the worst experience with maybe any company ever. They delivered 2/3 of my stuff and left the rest at a warehouse, but they didn't tell me they didn't have it all before I paid in full. Also about half of the stuff they delivered was broken. Literally brought my desk in pieces. Coffee table broken. TV stand broken. Just call a call that they lost a bunch of the stuff they didn't deliver. Nobody ever calls with an update. Half the time they don't answer the phone. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. It made my move completely inconvenient and terrible. If I had known 1/10 of what would happen I wouldn't use them. Save yourself time and money. Would give negative stars if I could. They claim in the reply that they found my missing items. Not true- they found a few of the items and still have not delivered them. They also say I didn't tell them about the damages until January. Lies. I told them the day they delivered some of my stuff and they told me to wait to file a claim until the rest arrived. I had to hunt them down to get any answers. I only received ONE call from them since they picked up my stuff on November 11. Again, DO NOT use this company. Horrible.Well you didn't listen to all the calls, because on December 18, I talked to two different people about the damages and missing items. I also have text messages, so I've got the receipts. You literally told me to wait for the remaining items before filing a claim. And nobody was proactive about helping deal with this situation. I was the one who always had to call and nobody had answers.
These guys are fantastic and everything you expect from a moving company. They wrapped everything and took extra special care of my belongings. They moved me out of a 3 bedroom house. Very competitive rates, don't hesitate to call this company. The guys are really experienced.
DO NOT USE. THEY ARE SCAMMERS. If I could give a negative number, I would. We had binding estimate, paid deposit. Foreman Alshimaa Afifi arrives, states our itemized list will not fit in truck, lied about cubic feet in truck, and tried to add miscellaneous charges, NEVER DISCUSSED IN 2 PREVIOUS REVIEW CALLS with company prior to moving day. If you have ANY glass item, they will try to charge you$150 extra PER ITEM, NEVER DISCUSSED. We had china cabinet, bookshelf with glass doors, washer dryer with glass apparently ON OUR ITEMIZED LIST. We said fine, you won't take those. After over 90 minutes drama, calling company office for assistance multiple times, speaking with Freddie and Tim in Quality assurance, No ASSISTANCE. He loaded the truck to agreed point, marked by strap in truck. He then demanded cash payment ONLY. He had our items locked away. He then made offer for less money, half to leave for new home and half when he arrived there, as long as we called company and stated we canceled and he was never there. We paid him, they unloaded, and then we sent company text message about what occurred for their info. DO NOT USE!!!

Before I tell you about my experience, I did not book my move directly through Selective Vanlines, but rather booked through a broker who then sold my job to Selective Vanlines. I was disappointed with my experience. After my job was sold to Selective Vanlines, the company never reached out to me to coordinate, never inquired about the specifics of where they were picking up, where they were dropping off, if there were stairs, or asked questions specific to my move. As a professional moving company, I expect the company to ask all the necessary questions upfront (before arrival) to set the right expectations. Instead, the movers arrived (hours later than expected) and then told me I would be charged an additional fee per every 4 or 5 stairs within the house. This was never discussed with me. Additionally, the company wanted me to pay (in cash) upon pick up and drop off, but never communicated this to me. Because of the lack of communication before hand, I was finally able to arrive to pay with Zelle. When the two movers arrived, they seemed frustrated that they had to move things up the stairs and irritated that it was very cold outside. Finally, the customer service line was horrible. If you select sales, you are immediately transferred to a friendly employee, but if you select existing customer, no one answers (and I didn't get a call back until I'd left countless messages and it happened to be the day before my things were delivered). At the end of this move, Selective Vanlines ended up charging me hundreds of dollars more than expected. I felt like they took advantage of me because they never attempted to set the right expectations with me (their customer).I know moving is a crazy logistics game, but I expected this company to help walk me thought the process, as they are the professionals. That was not the case. Additionally, expectations were never set with me, no attempt to create a good working relationship was made, and communication was non-existent. With all this said, my experience may have been different if I booked directly through them. However, in my experience, either a company places value in their customer's experience or they don't.
Amazing experience with the crew. They were all very friendly and helpful. Arrived on schedule and the move took less time than estimated. They were very diligent and quick. I would highly recommend them to family and friends!
The guys who moved our stuff were careful, kind, and professional. We would hire them again without question and absolutely recommend this company to our friends.
This company was great, courteous and polite and so considerate of my stuff, and super-efficient. I recommend this company without any hesitations.
They had great attitudes and did an excellent job moving many of our cumbersome items. I would recommend that anyone use this company for moving services.
Had a fantastic moving experience with this company and his fellow worker, everything was perfect. Got there on time and had no trouble at all. Would definitely book again.
