Terrible company
Used to be better before taken over, now they are TERRIBLE. I am elderly and disabled and regularly take my rabbit to a local vet, I don't drive so have to rely on taxis. Rabbit is in a clean carrier with absolutely nothing coming out of it. The most recent time I did the journey I had a really unpleasant, rude man who immediately complained about the carrier and then spent the entire 20 minute journey listening to a very loud foreign voice on his radio, without asking me if it was okay. And then was furious because I didn't give him more than a small tip. Apparently he didn't mind taking my money despite treating me like dirt just because I have a pet. (Just a hint - if the journey is to a vet, it usually involves taking an animal there). How are they still in business? I can only think because they seem to have the monopoly in this area, but really they are DREADFUL.

Taxi arrived, he's in a rush, and rude. "Come on, hurry up!". I'm 77 years old and disabled with arthritis. I can't rush! We have to go just round the corner to pick daughter and son in law up. He complains again, and orders them to hurry up. Daughter has her own disabilities. We set off, doing 40mph in a 30 zone. Get on dual carriage way, weaving in and out of traffic, doing 60mph in a 40 zone, then he goes through three red lights and on to a 30mph zone and does 41mph. The most ignorant and dangerous driver I have ever known.

Horrible company, horrible drivers, obstructive management
Awful company. Two drivers took my 16 year old daughter to and from college in Sheffield. Both drivers spent most of the journey having conversations in a foreign language with their mates on their mobile phones.To make things worse, the first driver overcharged my daughter for the journey.Reported both drivers to the licensing authority. When I called to complain the manager told me they couldn't tell me the cab drivers numbers due to data protection. Despite the fact that driver's numbers are on public display!Horrible company, horrible drivers, obstructive management who will hopefully lose their licence.

VEEZU is NOT City Taxis and is HORRENDOUS!!!!!
Sheffield City Taxi service used to be friendly and reliable - VEEZU IS NOT. I only gave ONE STAR because it was needed to make a comment. My experience of today, 04/01/24, was so bad it would take too long to word it all here. All I can say for certain is that I'll NEVER use Veezu taxis again....EVER!!! I'm disgusted with how long I had to wait, and then the driver didn't even know where to find me right outside ASDA, and then never turned up after he'd phoned me for directions!! I had to phone again and order ANOTHER taxi. This is not the first time I've been let down by Veezu since they took over City Taxis, but it'll certainly be the last time because Veezu is a totally useless service in every way. No-one in Sheffield wants to use them.

I suspect the previous owners have sold their brilliant service to someone who is now going to ruin their reputation.I have used CITY for over 20 years. They were always ALWAYS great. NOW they are untrustworthy and unreliable. Specifics over the last 3 days. 90 year old mum wanting a taxi from the CENTRAL bus station was told to walk with suitcases to the other end of the station to stand out side the pub. OVER an HOUR and the driver didnt turn up. A nice lady helped my mum to a black cab taxi rank !Visiting my brother in a nursing home there was an elderly lady going out as I was going in. 2 HOURS later when I left the same lady was STILL waiting for her taxi. (December , cold and wet) I took her home,Honestly this company NEEDS to close.

Booked a taxi, waited for ages even though told Taxi would be 6 minutes, rang to enquire to be told "they couldn't find us". We were stood outside of our flat waiting for them. A taxi was sent in replacement but we were late to an important hospital appointment that they didn't consider their fault. Taxi returning was rude, arrogant and ignored my mother when asking where he had to go. These are the shoddy drivers the company have who don't know Sheffield and drive recklessly.

My mum is disabled and they would not let her pre book a taxi in advance. They just kept advising to contact them closer to the time. She had an appointment at 5pm. She rang at 3 and they said ring at 4 she rang at 4 and they said ring again at 430. When she did they told her non available. What a way to treat a disabled old lady. I hope they are ashamed of themselves but very much doubt they will be...

Badly run business!Twice in 8 weeks I have seen these cowboys in cabs drive around Sheffield disgracefully, so congratulations to the owners of Sheffield city cabs for employing the cowboy in a cab from last nights latest incident. At 19:17 HRS I am driving north up Sutherland Rd Sheffield when the taxi driver driving the white estate with city cabs on the door, pulls out of Maxwell St and cuts me off forcing me to perform an emergency stop.Not only is he driving like an maniac, he then puts his middle finger in the air at me for flashing my lights at his dangerous stunt.On the 23/08/23 I am waiting with 14 other motorists at 17:30 HRS to turn off Penistone rd towards the Aldi turn off. Suddenly a white City cab flies past all 14 cars and jumps in front of the first car about to turn right. Shame on you, as the owner of city cabs Sheffield for employing a team of cowboys in Sheffield. South Yorkshire police will now be asked to start target operation watching all the taxi drivers in Sheffield as these cowboy cab drivers race around the city with your name on the doors driving in a manner dangerous to the public.

Prompt response to my online request. Followed up with final confirmation.We were picked up by a very kind and pleasant driver who transported us quickly and safely to our destination. We were given a card to call them for our return, although the number was very clear on my messages. I rang and requested a pick up, despatch was also very polite and helpful, he said the taxi would be there shortly and it certainly was, must have been less than three minutes. The driver was polite and took us to our drop off quickly and safely.This is the first time we have used this company and we're very impressed at how smooth and efficient the service was. Highly recommend...

Worst taxi company ever!
We got a call assuming our taxi was here at the allocated time to find out the taxi could not find the venue and we had pre paid for this taxi. £30 for a 15 minute journey!!! For my partner to have to walk 15 minutes to find the taxi and bring it back for me. Worst service ever. They get called “sh***y taxis” for a reason if you ask me!

Dreadful company
Dreadful company. Save yourself the pain and do not use them. Prebooked taxis, even called to double-check the booking was ok, but they never arrived. Phone operators outright lied that cars were coming, but they didn’t show up. Friends have had the same experience. Don’t risk it, use someone else.

Wouldn’t even give them 1 star but I tried to book a taxi on the Friday 14th July 2023 and my two attempts at doing this was unsuccessful but they happily took two payments from me even though I didn’t even use their services and when you contact them you get a rude person on the phone so had to fill in a form on their website and they don’t respond so if your ever in the city of Sheffield use a Uber avoid this company at all costs

Terrible. They don't seem to understand the concept of pre booked collection times.
Tried this company twice. Won't try again. Had to cancel both advance bookings (both booked well in advance) as they kept bumping forward the collection time on the app every time I checked to the point where I would be too late for specific appointments. One of the trips was to get to the station for a pre booked train for a work trip so I couldn't miss it. Ended up cancelling and getting the bus on both occasions. Dont take the bookings in advance if you can't provide the service. People choose a specific collection time for a REASON generally.

Rubbish. Unreliable. Pre-booking pointless because.. despite booking being taken app shows "no drivers in the area", why isn't there a driver in the area?? That's the whole point of pre-booking. This has happened last twice attempted to use this company. Failed to deliver first time, failed on second attempt. Won't be using them again.

Would give zero stars if I could
Would give zero stars if I could. Left an event at the Arena 5 minutes early to book a cab after finding that trains were cancelled. Driver didn’t come to my original destination at Noose and Gibbett and phoned me to walk to centretainemt and then refused to take me to Dearne as ‘It was too far’ despite putting my details in the automated system. I called City Taxis back and they said they would prioritise me and I ended up waiting a further 40 minutes on my own and by this time the place had emptied. Shocking service and the initial driver immediately took another unbooked fair (illegal?). Had to call company a third time to chase and they said they were busy despite saying I was a priority due to the initial fiasco. Shocking service. Would dread to think if it was someone with children or vulnerable put in that position late at night after a gig.

If u could put 0 star I would. Absolute bag of sh** service. Ordered a pet friendly taxi from the vets to my home (my sick dog) waited 40 minutes outside vets with a very distressed dog. Rang several times and they said they’re still looking for a driver. 45 minutes later I get a phone call saying they’re cancelling my booking cos they can’t find a driver. After waiting so long my phone ended up on 5% and had no way of getting back home as it was pretty far. They left me and unwell dog stranded with no way to get back. DONT OFFER A PET FRIENDLY SERVICE IF YOU CANT GIVE IT!!!! i had to walk and carry home my dog as she was too unwell to walk. We set off home at 3:30pm and have only just got back at 5pm , had to walk from a area I didn’t have a clue about as I’m new to Sheffield . Absolutely vile company. Don’t offer pet friendly service simple as.

I would like to thank the City Taxi driver who took me to the hospital today to see my dying relative. He was the most kindest and considerate person I have met. He did not charge me for my fair and dropped me off as close to the entrance as he could. Thank you so much for your kindness.
