In my view this is the best coffee roaster in the UK. Having also tried others from US and Japan I still believe the London roaster is better on many levels. There is a quality consistency in the freshness, aroma, bean storage, all bringing out the best from the highest level of roasting technology.
Square Mile makes the best-tasting coffee, hands down. I recently had to cut back on caffeine and was thrilled to discover they offer decaf. Honestly, I had low expectations, but their decaf tastes just as incredible as their regular high-quality beans. Truly impressive!
KamunduOver the years have bought a lot of square mile coffee beans, so this review comes from the point of view of someone who has been a regular and happy customer and view square mile coffee as one of the best roasters out there.Bought a few bags of beans, sweatshop was devine, as it’s many iterations have been over the years, the filter vandaluz was nice enough add a little or take away, increase or decrease the grind and you’ll get something nice eventually. But The kamundu espresso was very disappointing, my partner described it as lacklustre and not up to square mile’s usual high quality and others agree, describing the flavour profile as indistinct with a bitter edge or lacking flavour, which I agree with. Sorry square mile coffee roasters you were my go to beans but at £55 a kilo I may have to re-evaluate my future purchases.

I purchased a bag from a retailer , it was an ok coffee, so I'm taking another 350g"s from Square Mile online the same product, completely different taste , smokey ,burnt...one for the bin...I don"t enjoy putting business down or suggesting consumers should boycott this company....
The coffee is as you'd expect from Square Mile, fantastic.But what's blown me away is the service.Especially from Conor.He has again and again gone above and beyond to make my experience brilliant. Exceptional coffee, while it might be more expensive than what you find in the supermarket it's well worth it, and much better quality than other 'freshly roasted' coffee I've had. Their customer service is also awesome and they were super helpful when there were a few hiccups after I moved address (thanks Tia!).

I recently ordered two copies of James Hoffmann's new book. Although I live in the US, I always order his books off Square Mile's website, because I like that they're signed editions, and I can pick up some great coffee alongside. I was really excited to gift one of the copies to a friend.However, international shipping can be iffy. Case in point — when the books arrived, the packaging was fully open on one side and the books were dented and scuffed. This was sad, but ultimately you're always taking a risk with international shipping.I got in touch with Square Mile to let them know that they might want to look into their packaging strategy a little to avoid this in the future. The customer service person I spoke with (Conor) was so lovely. Not only did he listen with kindness and empathy, he also offered to ship me a new set of books. I said yes, and the new books arrived in perfect condition and quite quickly. I'm thrilled with my order.I know this came at some expense to Square Mile. After all, international shipping is not cheap. But I really appreciate the thoughtfulness and dedication to my customer experience. Before this, I would've recommended Square Mile's coffee hands-down to anyone in the UK or broader European region. Now, I'll be wholeheartedly recommending them to friends in the US, too. There's nothing like great customer service, and Square Mile definitely has that tenfold. Thank you!!
Maybe it's what they roast their beans in but square mile has a taste I'm always coming back for. A possitively life enriching experience.
I placed an order with Squaremilecofee Roasters for a 6-month subscription and experienced the most fantastic customer service when I ran into a few issues. My original parcel of coffee went awol, and customer service immediately sent a new replacement and paid for the tracking of the new parcel. A special shoutout to Conor who dealt with the issues I experienced, and helped me get my coffee in the end. It's rare these days to experience such professionalism and truly excellent customer service, even if the coffee was terrible (which it certainly is not!) I'd order from them again.
The best source of beans in the UK, and probably in the world in my opinion. A great and free shipping of such great beans that gives you the aroma you are looking for to start off your day. I've been a Square Mile customer and I'm always impressed with the quality of the products but also how helpful the customer support is on the few occasions I've had to contact them.
