Stopped in for a cut but after talking…

Stopped in for a cut but after talking with the stylist, decided it would be in my best interest to just get a trim. She had attitude from the start. She had me brush out my own hair because she said she couldn't... ? What the hell? So she starts cutting and gets to the side and I see how much she cut and was devastated at how much. She said it was 4", I measured... it was 8"! My hair was very long and now sits at my shoulders! The worst haircut to get when you didn't ask for it! Why did she not confirm how much to cut? She just started cutting. Horrible stylist and a horrible company for hiring people like this! I have no recourse for her destroying my hair. She should be fired!

I went to get my hair colored

I went to get my hair colored , i wanted it blonde , my hair turn orange and I had a pay and this is not what I wanted I just wanted to blonde and and I get it tomorrow but if I don't get the right color then I would have to pay for the service this is not right this is outrageous that the salon supposed to help you out to get the color that you want no one should tell you what color you should get.

Fixing a hack job

I had my haircut at the beauty school and it was a hack job. I called Brittany and she said come on in and she fixed it and it looks nice. No more going to other places I'm sticking with Brittany. Left again as a happy customer.

Amber the stylist at College Place WA

Amber the stylist at College Place WA, cancelled my appt 30 min before claiming she wasn't coming into work that day. I rescheduled my plans for the next day and learned that she had come to work the day before but lied to me. Then she rushed through my full head highlights and when she messed up badly, her statement was "At least it doesn't look BAD!" She charged me $179 so "At least it doesn't look bad"??? She offered to fix her mistake at 12 the next day because she was going home for a 2 hr nap and couldn't fix it while I was already there. I showed up and she didn't even show up or respond to my texts where I informed her I was there waiting. Wasted 3 days of scheduling,rescheduling my work and plans and $179 . She sent an obscene, filthy text to my phone at 7:50 pm the night she messed up on my hair. It appeared to be meant for someone else but every aspect of my experience with Amber was fully unprofessional and completely disappointing. UPDATE: While I still forewarn others not to let Amber near their hair, I will report that I received a response to my concern from someone higher up in the company. They agreed to refund the full amount. While that doesn't fix my hair, it does show some care from the company.

The location in Walmart in Fairmont wv closed 45 minutes early I got there as they locked up at 5:14 they advertise 6. She said they do it if it’s slow. I said I’m there for a cut she said it’s too late. I was there 45 minutes before closing how’s that too late!?! Terrible customer service

Smart Style is a BUYER BEWARE store

My husband went to SmartStyle to get me Paul Mitchel shampoo/conditioner for colored hair (orange tops). The sales clerk LIED to him, telling him Paul Mitchel no longer makes the product for colored hair and sold him product with a dark blue top. When I told him I could not use it, he immediately took the product back to Smart Style to return it and was told it was not returnable. Then the clerk added (snootily), "It says that on the sales ticket." Yes, it does in very faint print. However, had he read the ticket (clear to the bottom) it would already have been too late to return it as his card had been run. That was the first time he was told it was not returnable. $69.93 wasted. Smart Style is a BUYER BEWARE store

Embarrassing and liars

I took three of my grandchildren and myself and we spent well over $100 for haircuts on Tuesday. On Thursday, I brought their sibling, who has been in my household all summer(they cut my hair on Tuesday and didn’t say I had nits) and they tried to say that she had nits and they would not cut her hair. I don’t know if the $11 tip I gave made that same girl unhappy or if she couldn’t do the haircut. I have a nit comb at home because I work at a school, so I’m overly cautious. when I got home, I went through her hair and she absolutely had no nits I will Never go there again. This is the second time this has happened to us and it’s embarrassing. The first time my daughter took the child directly to another hair salon and they said she didn’t have nits and cut her hair. It’s ridiculous

Molly & Marion are super!!

I go to Molly at the SmartStyle at WalMart in Sebring, FL. She is absolutely the BEST in the whole city and I have been to a few places in the many years I have been here. Once I found Molly I knew my search was over. She is funny, really smart and always seems to come up with great ideas for my older hair. Marion is really good too but Molly is my go-to person. Believe me, you can't go wrong with either one of these wonderful ladies. And my wait time is always minimal.

Damaged my Hair.

I'm in tears everytime I look at my hair. I spent over a year growing my hair for my daughter's wedding which is coming up in 4 days. I went to get my hair layered and requested burgundy highlights. I requested to keep the length of my hair and even showed her a photo of how I wanted my hair to be. Almost $400 spent only to have my hair almost shoulder length instead of hip length as expected. There are also grey patches (bleached areas) in the center of my forehead and near the area of my ears. I can't help crying everytime I looked at myself in the mirror. I made appointments for both of my kids but am going to cancel them. Instead of looking my best at my daughter's wedding this weekend, I have to be in hiding because it looks like someone literally butchered my hair and I don't even have any length left to tidy it. I'm thinking about recoloring it by myself tomorrow to cover all the grey areas caused by what the did to my hair today. Please go elsewhere. Don't go through what I went though.

I had my son's hair cut today at the Salon inside the Hilliard Walmart in Ohio. I have to give the biggest shout out to MisZ Jala! She gave my son the best haircut he has ever had! She has the sweetest most empathetic soul. We really truly enjoyed our experience there not only because she did an excellent job and is a pro but because of the person she is! We were truly blessed to come across someone like her. She takes pride in her work and wants to make sure she does the best job possible and leaves the customer truly happy with the best experience they've had at a hair salon. I'll never forget her and how awesome she is! Highly recommend her! Please get your hair needs taken care of by her!

Shanice the emotional abuser

On June 26, I attended my scheduled 3:00 p.m. appointment with Shanice at the SmartStyle Salon located inside Walmart in Morehead City. I had booked this appointment with Shanice the previous day. I arrived 15 minutes early, fully anticipating that I might need to wait a little while.Upon my arrival, I noticed that Shanice had just begun working on a relaxer treatment for another customer whose hair extended to her elbows. Shanice did not approach me to provide an update on her schedule or the anticipated wait time. Instead, another stylist informed me that Shanice would likely require an additional 30 to 45 minutes.Accepting this information, I chose to leave the salon briefly and returned approximately 35 minutes later. When I came back, I saw that Shanice was working on yet another client, performing the same procedure on someone with hair to her elbows. At this point, I inquired about my appointment. Shanice's response was bitter and curt; she instructed me to "have a seat," adding, "I’ll get to you when I get to you." These were her exact words.Furthermore, Shanice went on to say that she had not wanted to do my hair in the first place. She could have simply told me she was fully booked, in which case I would have gladly scheduled elsewhere. Instead, her words and manner became increasingly harsh and emotionally distressing. Shanice abruptly told me that I was rude and to "get out." Her tone and body language were intimidating, and for a moment, I feared the situation might escalate further. She walked up to me as if she was going to strike me. This experience left me feeling disrespected and upset. I searched my brain, wondering what I had done to be treated so viciously. I am 73 yrs old and cannot recall a time that I have ever been treated this way. I believe that courteous communication and transparency about scheduling are essential in a professional setting. A simple explanation or honest conversation could have prevented this negative encounter. I am submitting this account as feedback in hopes that it may encourage improved customer service and professionalism in the future.

Bad customer service

I made an appointment online like I was told. Someone called in sick (I get that, but no one had the decency to call and let us know). Then ALL I asked for was a haircut for my daughter, the lady took it upon herself to blow dry & style ( ALL I wanted was a cut). Which ran my bill up to $66. If I wanted to pay salon prices I would have went to one. Not only was the cut ok, but there was a cut on my daughters neck from razor. I was not happy with adding services and not telling me they were additional charges. Will NEVER return. Bad customer service. PERIOD.

Worse haircut in my life

Worse haircut in my life! Not only did the worker cut off over 6 inches in length and tell me to use extensions , I work construction and need to scrub dirt and grime out daily plus had to go somewhere else to get it straight.It's going to take at least a year to come close to where it was.I contacted management and was told I'm S.O.L and nothing is going to be done about it. Corporate office will not answer phone and manager lied and gave wrong number to avoid an official complaint! DO NOT GO HERE!!!! Great Clips will do a better job and stand behind their employees work.

braids not lasting

I am writing to express my frustration with two recent experiences at your SmartStyles location #839, where I paid a total of $260 for braiding services that did not last even one week.I have a different grade of hair, and while I understand that this may require some special attention, I have had this same braiding style done at other salons before, and it typically lasts at least two weeks, if not longer. However, both times at your location, the braids unraveled within just a few days, which is incredibly disappointing given the amount of money spent.I trusted your team to provide a lasting, professional result, but instead, I am left with an unsatisfactory style that did not hold up. The $260 I spent feels completely wasted, and I am extremely dissatisfied with the overall experience.Given my past experience with this style and my expectation for better results, I would appreciate a resolution to this matter, whether that involves a refund or a complimentary service to correct the issue.Thank you for your attention to this. I've been a customer at smart style for 6 years and today February 24 2025 I got 5 highlights and my roots done for $116.67what the hell no blow drying my hair! Is this something new? If so bye bye smartstyle ! Who walks out of a reputable salon with a job not done!

Great hair cut !!!

Linda at Walton location is the best!!!I had a stroke a few years back and I have a little trouble styling with my left hand. SO I need a style that I can comb and it falls in to place and looks Great.Linda give that to me each time.💕
