A great experience from start to…

A great experience from start to finish! William Barrs was a polite and knowledgeable salesman who answered all my questions. The install was smooth, and the technicians were wonderful. I'll definitely be recommending you!

DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!!!!

This is by far the worst run company we have ever encountered in our lives. We signed a contract to have solar and batteries added to our home in April 2023. The system was partially installed in October of 2023, then Sunnova fired the contractor who promptly closed up shop that week. We are still waiting in October of 2025 for Sunnova to activate this system when we are in the process of selling the house. Sunnova has only called us three times to update us on the progress of the installation and that was all in 2023 while it was still being installed. When we call customer service we are told that our system is still under construction and another team will reach out to activate our system. No one has ever contacted us since 2023. We have called to figure out how to transfer this system to the buyers and customer service tells us they are sending a message to an 'internal team' multiple times over the last two weeks. Still not a word from Sunnova. There is no one to contact other than customer service, so we are totally stuck in limbo with no recourse. This is the type of corporation that needs their charter revoked, but I know that will never happen in this country. I am so disappointed in a company that is supposed to be helping consumers choose their own energy. DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!!!!

STAY AWAY FROM SUNNOVA

STAY AWAY FROM SUNNOVA! They installed defective equipment on my roof, the panels don’t produce power throughout half of a year and SUNNOVA refuses to do anything about it. They kept telling me that they didn’t see any issues with production for almost a year, then when I refused to pay any more bills from them I finally got them to admit their own system was creating issue tickets automatically based on the lack of production from my panels. It has been years, they have done nothing to fix the issue. I have filed complaints with the state, BBB, DOE, MA DOE, etc…. Write numerous communications to the SUNNOVA executive management, still nothing. STAY AWAY, the worst company I have EVER dealt with and I’ve dealt with some awful companies! No wonder they are shattering assets on their way out of business, maybe once they are finally out of business I’ll be able to get a normal company to take the panels over and fix them, fingers crossed

Worst company ever

Worst company ever! After we had the solar installed they told us nobody turned it on! And now we just got a 1545 PG&E bill because our solar system has not been working since April. And when I tried to talk to them about it they wouldn't answer about refunding us they just kept saying that they couldn't do anything to help me until they fixed our solar system and nobody can come out until next week which means that we're losing even more money. I don't know if I can get out of having them manage my solar but if there's any way I can I'm going to switch companies. Completely unhelpful and they can't seem to figure out that my system should have been fixed months ago! No idea why they have to fix my system before we can discuss a refund. Avoid this company at all costs they are terrible

I've had a lease with Sunnova for three…

I've had a lease with Sunnova for three years now. During that time our system has never worked correctly. Their offshore customer service call center is less than adequate. We have a battery back up system and our refrigerator is on their breaker system. It quit working three weeks ago and I have called every day trying to get a service call. Today they finally granted me a service call date two weeks out. Over the past three years we have have had multiple service calls that the technician never showed up and Sunnova rescheduled a month later. Please do not do business with this company! I have complaints filed with the attorney general and two senators as well as my private attorney. I am now paying for solar and I have an additional electric bill. Whole home back up is a lie and you will it produce enough electricity to offset your electric bill. It's a fraud!

This is the worst solar company I have…

This is the worst solar company I have worked with. I had a solar system installed at my house. I had to pay for the removal and reinstallation of the solar panels because my house was on fire. Since May 2025, Sonnova has been cancelling my appointments for the re-installation of my solar system. I have been paying my monthly bills and made payments for re-installing the system. They have stopped me from closing my house ceiling because they need access in the attic. They have poor customer service. They failed to communicate with the customer. All they're good at is canceling 6 appointments without letting me know the reason for the cancellations. I just received another cancellation notice via email today, again, 6 times from May to now. All my bills are paid up, and since September 2024, my system has not been producing.

Robbing customers

My solar system is down from March 19 2025. I reported it after 2 days. I connect with them and they create the case order on March 28 2025 and suppose to send the technician on April 9 2025. When they didn’t show up I called them back and they told me that they didn’t scheduled it and again took all the details about the issue and scheduled it for April 28 2025. After that the technician came and again they just disappeared. Again I called and and they told me technician didn’t update anything so they made another appointment for June 2025 and the technician came and took out the panel which has been damaged and told me they will order the panel and install it. Again I called and they make an appointment for July 28 2025 to reinstall the panel. On July 26 2025 they called me and told that they are cancelling the appointment and they will let me know when they will install it. I called today morning and they told I supposed to get an email to schedule the appointment. They always send the email and then I need to call as on the link they provide for scheduling clearly stated that call to make an appointment. And also I financed the solar so they keep continue taking out the monthly payment for all this month also I am paying for the electric bill to eversource. When I asked them about this they just told me they will not give me any credit for the electric bills that I am paying. Also they will calculate at the end of the year how much electricity produced by the solar and then give me credit if I eligible to. Every month I am paying more than 500 dollars for the solar monthly payment and electricity bill. When I call customer care they don’t want to email me anything about the conversation they are doing. Currently paying for a service which not even used for almost 5 months. I feel like I get robbed from last 5 months every day.

Horrible customer service - 3 months and still unresolved

I sincerely hope that both the CEO and the Head of Customer Experience will personally review this feedback, as the level of customer service I have received is unequivocally the worst I have ever encountered. The inability to secure a service appointment for a warranty-covered system over a period of three months is an untenable situation and reflects poorly on the entire organization. In light of this egregious lack of service and the prolonged period of inaction, I will be filing a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB). It is my expectation that a company operating with integrity and a commitment to its customers would address warranty claims in a timely and efficient manner. The current situation is not only frustrating but also indicative of systemic failures within your customer service and repair operations. Here is my work order for your reference. I hope that you do a full quality review of my case to truly understand where you need to improve your servcie organization. FSL-WO-0001656282

Horrible service, unreliable and overpriced

Horrible service, extremely overpriced. Incredibly unreliable. They told me the soonest they can have someone install my solar panels is in 1 month. I took the appointment and waited one month. No one showed up on the day of installation, I didn’t get any notification about rescheduling either. Customer service is useless and just says sorry we’ll call you sometime this week. Update: June 23rd 2025. After paying sunnova over $10,000 and them not showing up to install my solar panels and dodging my calls and emails for a week. They have now said that my refund was denied as I still owe a balance. I sent over proof of the check they cashed. The check had my system ID on it. How can they cash a check with my system ID on it yet claim I still owe a balance? I understand they are undergoing chapter 11 but this is theft on your customers.

Dishonest from the start

First, I was told once everything got started it would take 3-4 weeks. Try 8 months. The story their sales rep told me about since I already have solar panels if I add more I would continue not receiving a monthly bill from PG&E. The only bill I would receive would be the end of year true up, but I would produce enough energy to eliminate the EOY true up. That was absolutely not true. The EOY true up does go away, but only because I have to pay it every month now. Before V3 & Sunnova I was paying a monthly Average of $575. Buy the end of the year I will be paying an average of $700 a month.I contacted PG&E. PG&E said by adding more panels I went from rate schedule NEM 1 to NEM 3, which requires the bill to be paid monthly. Now with their partners, Sunnova, I have a monthly PG&E bill plus & payment to Sunnova. I was told my Sunnova payment would never be more than $150.00. Last bill was $166.00. When I contacted Sunnova I was told that my payment was based on how much electricity the solar panels produce. The more they produce, the higher the bill, so the more I pay each month.

SOLAR SALESPERSON just passes you off! BEWARE, Insurance is a LEGAL BATTLE, no protection for you.

SIMPLEFLOW, a rep said our solar installation would be GREAT and done by locals, but after we signed Sunnova docs, they passed us on to Kuubix Energy of Visalia California - to build on our roof, delays, errors, wrong panels, missed inspections, and today holes in our roof after 4 count of 90 pound panels flew to a neighbors home due to errors in securing these. Damage minimal to them, but could have killed our kids, dog, myself or !!! And, then the holes left my the ripped off panels, cause major water damage where we have been evacuated from our master bedroom for years, while there insurance refuses to pay for the repairs. This has nearly bankrupt our family, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - do not trust a solar salesman, they simply pass you off and leave you with a mess! The ' insurance people' just want to avoid paying for the damage the clients, in this case Kuubix Energy created, we have lost over $180,000 dollars trying to fight for our repairs. BEWARE. The CAN and will BANKRUPT you and leave you with holes in your roof, it happened to us.

Is Sunnova and Trinity Solar in Collusion?

About 3 years, we signed a contract with Trinity for the installation of panels on our home, financed by Sunnova. In May of this year 2025, we received 3 bills from ConEd totaling an amount of $996. We called Sunnova and informed them of the amount we have to pay to ConEd, and they requested to see the bills that we received. We emailed the bills to Sunnova. A week passed, and we did not hear back from Sunnova, so we called them and they informed us that they closed the case, much to our surprise. The representative of Sunnova then asked for the bills for the last 6-12 months; we are waiting for ConEd to send those bills. We also called Trinity to check the system to ensure that they are working; Trinity came and checked the system and told us that a part of the system is not working and that they will order the part and get back to us. To date, they haven't, so we called them again, but no response, nor a returned call.We are now suffering at the hands of ConEd because of Sunnova and Trinity and no one to help us.After our first installation of panels, ConEd bills were still very high, so we called Trinity to see what could be done; they informed us that we had to install more panels, and now we are paying Sunnova twice/month. We now have a full rooftop of panels and still our bills are exorbitant. Seems as though both Sunnova and Trinity are in collusion in this situation. WE need help from one of these companies ASAP!!!UPDATE - SUNNOVA closed our case, because they said that as per their records, our system has been producing, which is NOT the case because Trinity, the Panel installers, had to replace the part that was not working and caused the panels not to produce. Wish I could download pics of the broken part being replaced by Trinity.

Absolutely horrendous company

Absolutely horrendous company. We have a solar lease for panels that started in 2022 and the panels haven't been generating electricity for the past 8 months because of a faulty part. We've tried to schedule an appointment with Sunnova for them to replace the faulty part but they have repeatedly failed to schedule the appointment or have not shown up for the appointment. They still however charge each month for solar panels that don't produce electricity. Abhorrent business

Broken Promises

Broken Promises – Still No $2,000 Rebate After $41,000 PayoffI paid off my solar system with Sunnova back in December 2024—$41,000 in full—with the understanding that I’d receive a $2,000 rebate as part of the agreement. It’s now been over four months, and despite multiple phone calls and follow-ups, I still haven’t received anything.Every time I call, I’m given the runaround—excuses, promises of follow-up that never happens, and no clear timeline. This is unacceptable, especially after making such a large financial commitment. I held up my end of the deal, and Sunnova has not held up theirs.I cannot recommend this company to anyone. If you’re considering solar, be warned: their post-sale service is unreliable and their promises are not honored.

AWFUL is an understatement

If I could give a -10, I would. DO NOT go to this company. I'm being charged for a bill that is NOT my responsibility even though I've submitted the necessary documentation MULTIPLE TIMES. Their customer service sucks. I would love to know how people give 5 stars, because me experience has been atrocious. I don't need a comment saying your sorry for my issues and providing contact information. I've called and inquired multiple times with no resolution. I need a resolution asap.
