I financed a car with them and traded it in about 6 or 7 months later. I purchased an extended service contract which when I traded it in I provided the documentation to get a refund of the unused part of the extended warranty.This is the 6th of March and I started the claim last November 2025 and now its almost headed to mid March.They keep telling me I will get it within the next 30 days. This is rediculous. If you finance you car with these people watch out. I am not bashing a business here but if they wanted money they would want it right now. The refund money had to be sent by the dealer first and they held it for 10 days on this finance institution. the whole deal is garbage as far as I am concerned. I asked the check be sent on overnight or something and they said I have to have an account with UPS. So TDAuto finance I would like my money please.I am not bashing this company at all I just don't think it should take almost 4 months to get my money refunded. Now it's not their money i's mine.

Literally the crappiest company
Literally the crappiest company. Apparently you can't pay off the vehicle over the phone even though one representative stated I could. Then, when they needed verification of account holder instead of a consigner, you aren't allowed to create a conference call. She didn't tell me that and after waiting 30 minutes to speak to her, she hung up. I then had to call back and wait another 30 minutes just to find out that "we don't accept conference calls" and "you can't pay off the vehicle over the phone". Terrible company, terrible customer support. Avoid this place like the plague because that's exactly what they are.

TD Auto Finance is a textbook example of how not to treat customers.I paid off my vehicle 8 months ago and never received my title. That alone is unacceptable. The situation became even worse after my vehicle was totaled in an accident, when I urgently needed a payoff letter to obtain a duplicate title from my state.I have now been trying to get this payoff letter for over two weeks. I was told it would take 7–10 business days just to mail a simple letter. In 2026. Absolutely ridiculous. As of today, I still have nothing.Their delays have directly interfered with my insurance claim and created unnecessary stress and financial risk. If I had missed a payment, TD Auto Finance would have acted immediately. When the customer needs help? Silence, excuses, and stonewalling.This is not a one-off issue. Anyone reading reviews can see a pattern of incompetence and indifference. The volume of 1-star reviews speaks for itself.If you value your time, your money, or your sanity, do not finance through TD Auto Finance. Once they have your loan, you are on your own.

Terrible experience and still unresolved. I paid off my loan it never went through they told me to try it again and then they doubled the money they took out of my account. Which was $40,000. I did not have that much money in my bank account and now I am in arrears and all my money is Frozen and they will not respond to me. I'd rather ride a bicycle then get another loan from this company

This company is a total farse! They financed my car for over a year. Boy, when it's time to pay- you better pay! But once you have paid off the note and they owe you a warranty from a third party, they not only TAKE THEIR TIME, BUT THEY DON'T LET YOU SEE THE ORIGINAL CHECK FROM THE THIRD PARTY. I was told that it was a $4,400 refund, however, I got a mere $3,100 after waiting for 2 months, I called and called. They are extremely rude, they talk down to you, and they take their sweet time with your money while it sits in an account earning interest that they will keep, not give to you. I took a screenshot of the check, I was treated poorly. Also, I was told that the amount was $4400 by THEM and then received only $3,100. Do not trust them.

Still can’t get them to give me my account number they have no customer service I want to pay this loan off but they’re stopping me. This is in additional to the 47% interest I paid . I was told 10% interest on $40000 and verified with the dealer that was $4000. I paid almost $20000 in interest!!!!! No customer service to deal with.

Where is the zero star tab? This company is worse than zero Stars the worst company I've ever dealt with in all my 65 years of living. 5 years ago I paid off my car loan with them and they sent me an unsigned lien release letter, meaning nobody signed it in ink. I called a month and a half ago to have a new lien release letter sent with a human signature and I still have not received it. My state requires the lien release letter to be signed by a human, it's called wet signature or live signature. I'm trying to just simply donate it and three different charities entities will not even come take my car for free because of this unsigned lien release letter. I have called them multiple times and they just tell me to wait. They even sent in a second request to mail me this letter and that one hasn't come here yet either....Horrendous awful terrible does not begin to describe TD Auto finance.

Customer service is equivalent to talking to a wall
Echoing the rest of the reviews here. The absolute worst customer service who don't answer any of your direct question/s. Their response is your typical canned, cut and paste verbiage. You ask a direct question about getting the title and changing the owner's name on the title once the loan is paid off and they respond with an unrelated canned response related to refinancing. Why and how do companies like this still exist?

Extremely difficult to do business with, minimal contact available
TD Auto Loan is probably the worst company we have ever done business with in the area of Finance. Extremely difficult to contact, and possible to get documents from especially lien releases. Are vehicle was refinanced at approximately half of the TD interest rate. Our new institution paid TD off on our behalf but TD never sent an electronic lien release to New York State. After multiple phone calls we finally reach someone and we were told that they would get to it in 7 to 10 business days. Absolutely not possible to email us a copy of the lien release because that is not the way and I quote, we do business. Beware and stay away from this lender.

NEVER finance with this company
We have had an auto loan since 4/2021 with NOT one late or missed payment. I paid the loan off in full on 5/19/2025 and requested a lien release. It shows paid off and account closed online but still not released. I have called numerous times and spoken to a supervisor who told me it can take up to 30 days. We have the vehicle sold but the people are going to back out if we don't have it today. I called today and the employee said there was nothing she can do. They don't do expedited work, I can't speak with a Title person, she said it is paid off, my account is closed but nothing will be released before 6/3/2025. The money was wired so there is no way for it to be pulled back. They've had it since 5/19 but they will not release the title until 6/3. They are the most unhelpful people I have ever worked with. I can't imagine how they treat people who don't pay their payments on time if they treat good customers this way. I would NEVER finance anything with them again and I promised I would warn everyone I know about them so no one else has to go through what we have gone through. They do not care about the customer at all.

Horrible Experience with TDAuto Finance – Avoid at All Costs!TDAuto Finance is an absolute nightmare to deal with. They are dishonest, unprofessional, and completely unreliable. For over two months, they’ve been holding my refund money, claiming they sent a payment check that I never received. Despite having all their other letter, there’s no trace of this supposed check, and they keep giving me the runaround with vague excuses. They owe me a reimbursement for the difference, but they provide zero information or updates, leaving me in the dark. This is beyond frustrating—it’s outright deceptive. Save yourself the headache and steer clear of this terrible company!

We purchased the car in 2022. Cawood suggested TD auto finance for a loan. Do not do business with TD auto finance. We financed the vehicle through them and are now selling it. The payoff check was sent by the purchasers bank but they are saying they can hold the title for 30 days before releasing it. Making it almost impossible to private sell your vehicle. So the buyer is supposed to pay for the vehicle and then not be able to drive it for 30days before they can register it. We also were only told this after the payment was sent. We were originally told it was a smooth quick process.

TD Auto finance, looking for people to join a class suit
We authorized automatic payments but they took a payment for more than 3 times the amount at the end because of late fees even though we had the car on automatic payments. They said because the first automatic payment was late. But they failed to notify us. We are looking for people in the same situation to start a class suit.
