Worst insurance ever
Worst insurance ever. Horrible customer service with representatives who lie and do NOT fulfill their promises. They cancelled my home insurance 1 day early AND have taken over one month to fulfill an auto claim. I have spent HOURS on the phone with zero results and nothing but stress and disappointment.

This company is Krazy stupid .I received a call from them in regard to my complaint with the government office administering them. They want to automatically renew auto and house policies without authorization and debit payment systems that were only (authorized) approved for the previous policies. This really is no different than the scam artists using spoofing. software to scam people out of their money. I am a disabled senior and do not have money to throw around. They cannot accept the obvious fact that we are not computer literate and may not have money to spend on scanners and printers and cannot do the tasks they ask and do not want to accept the fact that cancellations by their modus operandi do not work and increasing policy premiums is just gouging people.

If I could give a score less than 1 star, I would. I would avoid TD insurance like the plague. We've been loyal customers for 15 years and every year our insurance goes up astronomically. They're new app is horrible. We do a lot of highway driving and it calculates that as speeding, gives us low driving scores and then raises our premiums. You also have to go into the app daily and approve your drives. The app is slow and finnicky and it is a huge time suck. We called to see about adjusting our premiums before we look elsewhere. We were told they do not do that. We looked elsewhere and called to cancel and it was only at THAT point that they offered to take a look at our premiums. Horrible customer service, non-existent customer retention. They are also charging us astronomical cancellation fees, after we did everything we could to try and stay with them.

I gave one star because it doesn't accept zero. I have been a TD customer for 40 years but in the last 5 I have actually needed to make claims. My husbands car was hit in front of our house. They picked it up same night and then they LOST it. Couldn't find it for 2 weeks which delayed his claim. I was lied to about how I could claim a no fault incident when I told them I wanted to pay for it (side swiped a pole in a parkade) then they doubled my premiums next renewal and I was held hostage for 6 years. Don't even get me started on the hail storm that hit my neighborhood because there was so much trouble getting that dealt with. Anyway happily leaving now. I am a CPA and TD makes its living off offering discounts to professional groups and alumni. It is a crock of $hit so don't fall for it. This is a terrible company

I’ve had multiple accidents covered under TD Insurance, including one in 2024 and another a few months ago where my car was rear-ended. What’s most disappointing is how little concern they showed for my health and recovery after the accident.Despite having coverage, getting approvals for proper treatment has been extremely frustrating. Instead of focusing on a client’s well-being after an accident, the responses I received were mostly along the lines of “policy limitations” with very little support or empathy. When you’re injured and dealing with stress after an accident, this is the last thing you expect from your insurance provider.This experience has made me feel that TD prioritizes policies over people. Based on my experience, I would not recommend TD Insurance to anyone looking for reliable accident and health support.Alberta’s private insurance system already puts consumers at a disadvantage, and companies like TD only make it worse. We need better accountability and better care for people who are paying high premiums and expecting real support when they actually need it.

I got into a car accident in September. It’s now January almost February and I’m still dealing with the insurance. They’ve been rude not consistent and horrible. Half the time they don’t answer their calls or email and when they do, they’re completely useless. I got sent to three different advisors and they took all this time off back-and-forth. They never said anything. Now that I’m almost done I just need a letter saying I don’t owe them anything and I’ve called and talk to them about four times each time they’ve told me they’re gonna send the letter and never once have I got one which means I can’t get approved for another insurance company. Do not go here worst experience in my life.

I moved Provinces changing home policies
I moved from Alberta to Ontario and when I did, I started a new home insurance policy with TD Insurance in Ontario. No one informed me that I had to call a different branch of TD Insurance to cancel my Alberta home policy, so I never cancelled it. Unfortunately years went by before I realized that TD Insurance was still charging me for my Alberta home policy on top of my Ontario policy (they come out of my bank account under the same name so it was easy to miss). When I called TD Insurance, they reassured me that I would receive the entirety of my money back. However, once my case got reviewed, they ended up telling me that I would only receive a year's worth of money back. This is poor communication from the company and gave me false hope that I would be able to reclaim the money I lost. I would not recommend TD Insurance to anyone as they will run with your money if given the chance.

Auto insurance cancelled without effective notice, refund process unfair
My auto insurance policy was cancelled for non-payment without effective notice reaching me. I later discovered I had unknowingly been driving uninsured, which is a serious safety and legal risk.What I find unacceptable is the imbalance in how responsibility is handled. Payments are taken instantly and electronically, and consequences for customers are immediate. However, when a refund is owed, the process becomes slow and inconvenient.TD Insurance acknowledged that I was entitled to a refund but insisted on issuing it only by paper cheque instead of returning the funds electronically to the same bank account they previously withdrew from.I am sharing this so others are aware how quickly coverage can be removed and how difficult it can be to reverse the consequences.

Rep lied to me on the phone and when I called them out on this they said their manager would call me to resolve this. Three business days later the manager called and basically told me there was nothing they could do and I needed to hear from someone above them which would take weeks.

If I had a gun with two bullets and I was in the room with a personified version of TD insurance and Adolf Hitler, I would shoot TD twice. This company is absolute trash and I wouldn't wish their overpriced policies on my worst enemy. Think of the worst person you know and then multiply that shittiness by about a thousand you will begin to apporach the level of trash that this insurance company is. Charging us more than double what our friends pay (with another company) on a house that's worth double ours is absolutely ridiculous. If I could give negative stars to a company, TD would win that contest hands down. Do not choose TD (even with their associated "discounts") go to your local HUB or other insurance broker I promise you will find a better deal. We all deserve better than the fat cats licking thier paws at the helm of this god awful insurance company.

i cracked two ribs on holiday. i had to fill out a ton of forms which i did ASAP. mailed in and paid $28 for tracking for two day express to them. 3 1/2 weeks later they sent me an email saying to fill out all the forms and send them in. I had more then enough proof from hospital cost $600 ex-ray and pain patch! i would Never use them again. i don't have the energy to fight with them since i'm still feeling the effect of the two ribs that don't seem to be healing properly.

I wish there was a zero star rating ,they turned into a very bad operating insurance Company on behalf of TD. My car broke down engine blown , cost more than what vehicles worth. In a frustrated haze called TD ins. Said must cancel ins. Dint know when getting another vehicle no offers of fire or theft to maintain policy . I call back 4 days later i have another vehicle they said “ sorry your policies cancelled” i said will ya but i thought i could switch a new vehicle to my old policy ? Im sorry sir your policies been cancelled ! Im like wtf i just got another vehicle i need to put the new vehivle on policy now. It was a no go they tried to make me start from the beginning new application , credit check , this and that AFTER 15 years of being a faithful customer . Shame on you td. Obviously i finally left because their new application process was a complete nightmare and will take upto 10 days even after we recieve the application , thus i starve as i cant even drive to grocery store for food. Just a note i got my good driving ins. In less then 24 hrs through klondike ins. Bye by Td your a disgrace to even your true patrons .

Would give no stars if i could, I will admit my fault for not being able to "pay" on time due to some banking errors that where solved almost immediately after and the company refused to work with me instead set un relenting timelines and then refused to change status. There was misinformation supplied and the excuse used was "the agent no longer works with us", and this now causes a black mark on my future insurance for the next 6 years. They simply tried to pass the buck and hide behind the companies power. NEVER GET INSURED FROM THEM!

TEN Years suffering from an MVA
TEN Years ago I was in an MVA, I sustained a long term brain injury and chronic/lifetime issues with my neck and shoulders from whiplash. TD Insurance are the providers for one of the Defendants that caused the accident/pile-up on the highway. I have been suffering, and waiting for a settlement on the claim, but the lawyers keep pushing the case and stating incomplete files/documents/anything they can think of to delay the case. They are playing the typical lawyer games, trying to push me until I give up and walk away; so they won't have to pay out on the claim. This is a warning for everyone in general; car insurance is a scam, it does not protect us. When you are injured and hurt; no one cares, not the insurance companies, not lawyers and not the legal system. Even if you are extremely hurt, and have an easy claim; the chances of you getting fair compensation so you can financially afford to live the rest of your life - are slim. I think the best thing we can all do, is respect each other on the road and please drive safely. We all have to get where we are going, no one should have to give up their life just so you can get somewhere faster. I would give anything to have my life back, but because careless drivers were in a hurry; that will never happen

They say we get all these discounts yet the account holder (my mother) has been with them for apprx. 15 years with home and auto insurance and my insurance has went up every year since Ive had insurance. Theres 4 people and 4 vehicles on the plan. Their customer service is a joke and they can't explain or correct anything on policy properly. When I still had my G2 and a 2022 vehicle I was paying $226/m 3 years later, a G license, accident free and turned 25(female) I am somehow paying $258/m for the same vehicle...and I supposedly get all these discounts...?🤣 And thats just mine not the other 3 peoples in my household as well!

Sudden increase of $30/month without notification. They expect you to rate every movement where you carry your phone with new app. I was a passenger on a highway trip and did not review and my insurance increased unexpextedly. When I received a call back from a supervisor I was told to deal with it. They will review in a year. App launched 2 months ago. Calling to speak to someone waited over 2 hours and treated like a child. Should be illegal. I am going to pursue with insurance legislatice board. What a scam. I am going back to Belair.
