Turcan Connell (Scotland) solicitors.I have been using Turcan Connell solicitors since January 2019. They have, throughout, been excellent.I needed a solicitor who was qualified in both English and Scots law. My father had granted me a Power of Attorney many years before when we both lived in England but now I was living in Scotland. He was living with his 4th wife, my step-mother, in Kent. They were both old. There is no need to go into too many personal details here.My father had dementia and, eventually, I had to manage all his affairs. He had dozens of different investments, pensions from the UK, Canada and the USA - and his domestic arrangements were complex and difficult. In 2018 we found him a Care Home in Kent, where he spent his last few years. He died there in 2020.At first I struggled for months to understand his affairs and arrangements in order to get to grips with the details, working at first with his own family solicitor. It gradually became clear that this was not in either his, nor my interests. So I changed solicitors to Turcan Connell.I have since used them for my own Will; for my own Power of Attorney; for drawing up a pre-nup prior to my civil partnership and for other of my family matters. I have worked with 4 different solicitors at the firm- and they have all been outstanding. All have been highly professional, extremely efficient and very good communicators. I have used email, telephone calls and video calls- they are the other side of Scotland from where we live. When things were tough they always responded in a totally appropriate and supportive way. Their “people skills” are strong, and I have felt valued and considered in all my dealings with them. I am also always confident that their advice is totally solid.
