I’ve read a wide range of opinions—both…

I’ve read a wide range of opinions—both positive and negative—about World Financial Group, and one recurring concern is the perception that it is a scam or a multi-level marketing (MLM) company. I’d like to address that concern directly. In the insurance brokerage industry, compensation is largely performance-based. Firms such as New York Life and MassMutual may offer a temporary training stipend, but once that period ends, compensation is primarily commission-based. These firms also encourage both sales and recruitment, which is standard in the industry. When you recruit, you may earn overrides, which represent a small percentage of the production generated by those you recruit.World Financial Group operates in a similar manner, with one key difference: WFG does not provide a company-funded training stipend unless an established branch owner chooses to offer one independently. Where WFG differs from traditional MLM structures is in how overrides are handled. In MLM models, overrides can continue to grow indefinitely through multiple levels of recruitment. In contrast, insurance companies—including New York Life, MassMutual, and WFG—cap overrides. After a certain point, compensation transitions to a structure based on prior performance, such as a percentage of previous earnings and eligibility for bonuses, which is more comparable to profit-sharing and performance incentives.Like any brokerage, there are platform or licensing fees, which may be lower than some firms and higher than others. If an individual pays these fees but does not succeed, that outcome is not necessarily the firm’s fault. Success in this industry requires specific skills, discipline, and commitment. To be successful in insurance and financial services, you must be able to identify genuine client needs, communicate honestly, and operate with integrity. The industry is highly regulated, with strict government standards. If an advisor cannot consistently meet those standards, clients will recognize it, and long-term success will be unlikely.

Owning your own business is not easy especially with no inventory

World Financial Group provides people with two opportunities to choose from. Education about financial concepts that help them navigate their financial future and a legitimate business opportunity in the worlds highest paying, most highly regulated industry, financial services.

I was recruited into World Financial…

I was recruited into World Financial Group (WFG) and paid $157.50 to join as an associate. I was told I’d receive mentorship and training, but the responsibilities, licensing process, and overall expectations were not properly explained to me upfront.Within just a few days of signing up, I realized the opportunity was nothing like what was described. I immediately requested a refund first in January 2024, and again recently but WFG has completely ignored my messages.Their contract says nothing about the fee being non-refundable, and I never used any of their services or accessed any training. Still, they refuse to refund the money or even respond. I’ve now filed a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau. In my opinion, this company operates in a misleading way that takes advantage of people looking for better opportunities. Be very cautious before giving them any money and ask everything in writing before signing up.

good free education and a business opportunity for those who's willing to work for it

I started as a client. As what I know, a lot of WFG agents were clients to start with. My friend got licensed and approached me offered to share what she learned. in the half hour, I've learned more what to do with my money than I've learned from university and work places. She helped me created a plan and automated the set ups. That was in 2019. by the end of 2023, my net worth has doubled. I approached her and said I wanted to do what she did for me, for other people. I got my license and I now teaching others knowledge and tools. For those who had bad experience about the business or people in the business, I can see why. It's unfortunate because WFG has over 86,000 independent licensed agents, and not everyone represents WFG's mission of "no family left behind". but the same problem exist in all other business too. all other banks, retail businesses, or direct sell business etc. Unfortunately I also see people who start with WFG with a mindset of making easy money or work very parttime expecting 6 figure income. There is no such a thing. Any good business requires either a large capital or lots effort with willingness to learn and grow. If you expect it be easy, this is not for you. but if you want to truly build something your own, pays you good income, and your income increases even after you stop working, and you are willing to put in the work and be patient, this is for you!

Misleading Opportunity – Feels Like a Trap for Students

I was approached about an IT-related opportunity with World Financial Group (WFG) while I was a student looking for part-time work in Canada. Initially, I was told that if I had basic computer knowledge or an IT background, I’d be a good fit. This sounded like a great opportunity for someone just starting out. After contacting them, I was connected with someone named Tejaswi Sindhuri, who said she worked under an agency within WFG. On the second day, her boss also joined a call and explained the business model again — which sounded more like financial services and recruiting than IT work.Soon after, they asked me to pay a fee to create a WFG account, supposedly to start learning their process. I paid, thinking I was being onboarded into a legitimate opportunity. But what followed raised serious red flags:I was given a script and told to contact my friends and family to see if they needed insurance.I was pressured to make calls and bring others into the system. The original claim about an "IT role" turned out to be completely misleading. At this point, I realized it was not a tech job at all, but more of a recruitment-driven, sales-based model, where you're encouraged to bring others in and sell insurance — not what I signed up for. I refused to continue. This experience felt like a trap, especially targeting students or newcomers who are eager for work. I would strongly advise others to do thorough research before getting involved, especially if you’re asked to pay upfront or are being pressured to recruit others

Reading these reviews

Reading these reviews, doesn't it seem odd that the vast majority of 5 star reviews are from people writing from an active employee's perspective? Happy customers, I might believe... Happy, active employees writing truthful online reviews in mass, I find harder to believe... If employees genuinely love it this much more than the customer, I would have to ask why?

MLM Scam

WFG is a multi-level-marketing scam. Current employees will try to recruit you, but in the end, going after financial freedom is like chasing a carrot on a fishing line. Everything about it screams "gambler's fallacy". Stay far away.

By far the worst business experience…

By far the worst business experience ever. Besides being misled by the recruiter (saying I wouldn't need to approach my warm or cold market, which ended up being incorrect), TRY FINDING A PHONE NUMBER on WFG's website. None. Imagine being as large as they are and NO PHONE# on your website?! Then, when I decided to quit them, and told my sponsor this, I got a reply to call a 770#. I did but the menu didn't have any options to terminate. Finally, after fooling around with the menu on the number provided, it let me in but since I had already sent an email to cancel, it would NOT let me continue but hung up on me.THEN, I get a letter by email threatening me because I owed $75? Never invoiced to me, but apparently I did owe it. TRIED TO CALL AND PAY, it hung up on me. TRIED TO LOG IN TO AGENT SITE, said "Sorry, you no longer exist."The height of unprofessionalism. Don't walk but RUN from this company IF you like to communicate. I give 99% 5-star reviews and this is the 1st one in a very long time that is negative so I am NOT a negative complaining person, just the opposite, UNLESS you do things like what World Financial Group (WFG) did to me.So sad.

Tony Nwokedi. WFG ~ A great opportunity ~Joining WFG a little more than a year…

Joining WFG a little more than a year ago was an experience I wished I had been privileged to join five or more years ago. Nevertheless, I’m happy that WFG crossed my path. The financial education I had received since joining World Financial Group is second to none. Living in North America is hard and without a sound financial education life would even be harder. I’m grateful that I didn’t miss out on the opportunity this company (WFG) offers.
