Why arrange a delivery date when you…

Why arrange a delivery date when you actually mean a day or two later ? Had employees waiting around to fit bath panels that didn't arrive. No way of contacting Abacus - well there is but they don't respond.

Items never arrive on time

Items never arrive on time! What’s the point in asking me for the day I want the items delivered if you’re not going to deliver them! Happened several times now. Like other reviews, the courier they use (XDP) are just as useless. Can’t believe B&Q are associated with this company!

!!!!! AVOID ABACUS !!!!! AVOID XDP!!! AVOID RUBBERDUCK BATHROOMS !!!!!!

!!! AVOID ABACUS !!!!! AVOID XDP!!! AVOID RUBBERDUCK BATHROOMS !!!!!!USELESS is being kind. A joke of a company. Cannot continue with job till boards arrive. Still waiting a week later. Everyday saying they are just waiting to hear from their equally crap courier USELESS XDP. Both clown shows run by muppets it seems. They break every promis they make. Wish I had read the reviews before ordering with Rubberduck Bathrooms, another muppet outfit, pulling in custom with cheap prices..............that NEVER TURNS UP !!!!!

This company didn't deliver the items…

This company didn't deliver the items paid for. Then failed on 7 occasions to authorise b&q to refund me. B&Q took my money as the retailer they are legally obliged to refund me. It is now a month since I paid for products that weren't delivered. I am going to take Abacus and B&Q to small claims court for the refund plus interest and my costs. Disgraceful that B&Q should sell for Abacus, when they're obviously a known defaulter.

The worst company ever

ordered 4 of their wall panels through B&Q. when they arrived 2 were the wrong colour. I contacted B&Q who said to contact Abacus direct. All Abacus were interested in was getting the wrong panels returned to them. They use XDP as a courier who gave me 55 mins notice of the delivery time slot which they subsequently missed. Abacus staff were rude, unhelpful and just wanted to pass the buck back to B&Q. When i asked to speak to a manager they put me through to an answer machine. Avoid this company at all cost

Appalling service

Abacus is the supplier for bathroom direct for my recent order. Bathroom direct was efficient in processing my order. However abacus decided not to process my order they received on Wednesday till the Monday after stating a stock check that was happening on Friday. Since Monday, now Wednesday all they have told bathroom direct is that they have shipped the order and with the courier and they can't do anything to fast track the order to deliver it although the order is urgent. Absolutely appalling service!

No stars - avoid!!

Faulty bath sent for inspection for just blistering. since leaving us, the bath now has a crack that has tried to be repaired. They have said we did it but we have proof we did not. They refuse to deal with us as we are not the retailer. Retailer not answering calls. Terrible company - avoid at all cost!Update: no internal investigation will take place as to who damaged and attempted to repair the bath after leaving our property. No investigation as to the false report. They still have the bath and retailer not refunding. Even though we have proof.... they are ignoring our report and evidence. Shameful! Retailers don't work with Abacus.

Unprofessional service

Ordered an expensive pivot shower panel with bronze frame and ceiling arm, from Wickes. It was delivered one week late unlike what promised in 5 days. It was shocking, though to receive the metal work in 3 different colours, including rose gold frame which is NOT marketed in their brochure!!!!. We informed Wickes on the same day of delivery. Store manager and staff are trying to help by calling Abacus and sending emails to their customer service but to no avail. I too, sent an email but we have not received any response to probably replace the metal pieces with correct colour-bronze or replace the whole panel. Now, the work in the bathroom is hold up by delay, we don't have a shower and already cost us a full day builders fees. Very unprofessional behaviour but not surprising reading other reviews which are ALL negative. Never again and definitely are not recommended. Wickes, also has to stop making business with them

Lucky to get one star

Lucky to get one star. Terrible customer service.Ordered two sinks and cabinets via wickes 3 months ago. Didn’t turn up on the day they were meant to. Called numerous times the following week to be told different parts are out of stock. Different response every time. Verbally aggressive over the phone when I try to ask simple questions. Now half my order has been posted so I’ll have sinks with no cupboards to sit on. They’ve said it’ll be 16th December before they’re back in stock. Despite them coming into stock on 2nd November but allocating the stock ‘elsewhere’. My bathroom gets fitted next week and I’m going to be left without sinks. £1600 we’ve spent with them!!! Their response, ‘nothing to do with us, speak to wickes’ DISGRACEFUL customer service

Terrible customer service !

Terrible customer service !Misleading product description !Extremely disappointed with the lack of customer service provided. Ordered part for a shower requiring 2 off the same item. Product description online stated 1 piece. Having emailed querying this was informed needed to place a second order and additional postage cost even though initial order placed moments before. What arrived was 2 pieces in one box therefore over ordered told must pay the return postage cost even though I questioned the quantity prior to placing second order.

Abacus returns takes over 10 weeks and still will have to pay unknown charges.

I bought an Abacus Wet room shower tray, cover and instal kit through Wickes but did not use them or even open the packaging. I informed Wickes on the 14/04/23 I would like to return them and Wickes accepted but stated that they had to be returned direct to Abacus as they were sent directly from Abacus to me. But all correspondence had to be through Wickes. Wickes inform Abacus, Abacus has 3 working days to reply and Wickes advise me of the reply and collection details. Cumbersome but straight forward, so I thought. NO. The reply comes back from Wickes to say Abacus would not collect one of the orders as it was of low value (£162!) and I should post it, 12kgs, at my expense. They would arrange collection of the other 2 items (£597). But what I got was, an email from XPD (as collection agent) with a couple of hours notice saying "attach provided labels securely" No labels provided but that did not matter as stayed in and XPD did not turn up. This happened a further two times with many emails each with delays beyond the 3 working days. Then Abacus said they would not collect as there were 3 missed pickups not that their carrier had failed to turn up. Go through this procedure another time and XPD fails to turn up yet again. Complain yet again, no apology or excuses for any of their failings. Collected today, at last, only taken 10 weeks of wasted time and effort.Abacus will not say what the return charge is or the restocking charge but that here will be one. Wickes customer services were great but totally let down by Abacus.

Aquadry wet wall purchased via B&Q

Aquadry wet wall purchased via B&Q. Happy enough with the end product although a mixup meant we were delivered the wrong type of edging and getting this changed caused a significant hold up in getting the job finished. One of the guys was always helpful on the phone (had to get in contact with them several times about it), however I had a less than helpful experience with one of the female team members. Overall, we got what we needed eventually but it did delay the job significantly.

Gainsborough / Abacus - Poor Service

I am a grant officer with a local authority, & arranged the installation of an Abacus bath through Gainsborough in 2021 for a disabled user. The family of the user have had nothing but problems since the installation. The hydraulic support bars for the rise/fall stretcher board have buckled & failed, & have needed replacement. The waste water pipe has been replaced as it cracked & allowed for flooding of the bathroom when in use. Since then, Gainsborough have reneged on the warranty conditions for the bath, refusing to liaise with the users family who are 'a bit difficult' - no wonder with the stress it has caused them. Do not touch this company with a bargepole, shockingly poor service! I have repeatedly tried to contact Gainsborough but have been fobbed off with excuses. Gainsborough have had there fees & now wish to wash their hands of any follow-up responsibilities. Shame on you!

This company should stop manufacturing…

This company should stop manufacturing and supplying their backer boards. I bought their boards through two different suppliers. All were shipped and delivered directly by Abacus. Both orders had damaged boards. When I raised this with Abacus, they started arguing and insisting that the boards can still be used when repaired!!! Why should I buy new items and then repair them?!!! It is no wonder why the UK suffers from awful bathroom workmanship! The manufacturer is not serious. I am still trying to return these damaged items - the return policy is £45 btw!!! I will update.

Don't waste your time or money with…

Don't waste your time or money with this company, the cabinet arrived damaged, they said we should have inspected within 24 hours of delivery, so we had to buy another one, discounted, but we were time and money out of pocket. We are a family run business of quality bathroom installers ,myself, and three sons .We use all the top manufacturers and have never experienced anything like this before. So before you buy look at other manufacturers

Abacus - a company with no integrity

Abacus do not honour their lifetime guarantees. Towel warmer has started leaking. Initially they acknowledged that they were liable but are refusing to replace or refund the full amount paid for this stainless steel towel warmer. This was an expensive purchase. I thought I was investing in a quality product from a reputable company. But when things go wrong they are not interested and are now not even replying to emails. Very poor. Avoid and shop elsewhere with a more trustworthy company

Damage bath on arrival from Abacus

I received bath today (an expensive bath) that was purchased through ED but fulfilled by Abacus, the bath looks like it has been dragged on its a*** through the warehouse, scrapes and cosmetic damaged to the underneath, secondly the bath is cracked around the edges on the right hand side, thirdly although new, it smells like its been stored in a farm yard. Against all my frustrations I am going to keep the bath because I don’t have the time and energy to fight and I need it installed today. I am installing it in a way that the side damage, will never been seen and I believe the structural integrity of the bath is in tact but I won’t be purchasing from ED or Abacus again. This is “supposedly” a premium product, the USP of this bath is that is has an armoured shell that gives it longevity and peace of mind for many years. When you pay 4x a standard acrylic bath you expect an Apple Like experience, nice packaging, everything shiny and beautiful but this is so far from the truth. I’m deeply disappointed. I made this initial purchase through ED as they were an approved partner of Abacus, Abacus are the party at fault here but the retailer ED should have better quality controls in place to ensure their customers are getting a working product in good order. My recommendation to anyone moving forward is to purchase a bath on-site and collect so that you can inspect the product. Online businesses now sacrifice quality because they can “box shift product” in huge quantity and if things go wrong they can hide behind a screen.

Failed delivery PO 668316

I ordered wet room floor boards from Wickes, which is being supplied by Abacus, for the 22nd June. I have been repeatedly promised delivery, but I am yet to see the products I ordered.

Shocking

I ordered some products via trade supplier. Abacus sent the wrong sized product, when informed they insisted on photos with a tape measure, then had to be chased repeatedly to send the correct size. They sent the same size again, then started saying they don't sell the bigger size despite it being on their website etc. (just an excuse), after more weeks I chased again, this time they blamed snow for not having sent it.... Absolutely useless been going on from Oct'20 to Mid Jan'21 Now cancelled order. A shame because their products are nice but I will never use them again, poor management and no acceptance of the issue

Zero customer service

Ordered 4 Abacus Bathrooms products through an online bathroom retailer as Abacus Bathrooms don't sell direct to the public. Unfortunately only 3 products were delivered and the retailer blamed Abacus Bathrooms as they were the company that shipped the items. I couldn't get the retailer to deal with this problem so I emailed Abacus to tell them they had shipped the order with 1 item missing. They didn't respond. Very poor customer service so I won't be purchasing Abacus Bathrooms products again.Since first posting this review I have telephoned Abacus Bathrooms. They refuse to take responsibility for the missing item even though it's them that shipped the order. 1 star is generous.
