Terrible delivery service. The worst.

I hope I like the bed. But the delivery service they use couldn't be worse. Please beware, if asking for white glove. They did a terrible, sloppy job, they chipped paint and wood while bringing parts in, they arrived 1 1/2 hours after my allotted time. It was in their notes I would need help with taking the old bed frame out-- but they took one look at it and refuse, suddenly there were "liability issues" even tho I spoke to someone at Ryder in the morning to confirm this, and yes, it was in their notes. They had 4 more people to get to after us, and it was already 5 pm, so clearly over booked and more about rush than actually doing a good job. I only hope my bed has been put together well, but my husband and I had to move it into position ourselves. And remove the mattress and redo that part as well, because the mattress protector was hanging out the side from the bottom, ripped apart. TERRIBLE service for which I paid.

Self-deterioration and cracking!!

The finish is literally deteriorating on its own — after just a few weeks and with zero use. I bought this a few weeks ago, went on a trip, and came back to find the finish getting worse day by day. It now looks like the wood itself is starting to fall apart!! The sitting area is cracking in the middle as well.And if you’re wondering why all the reviews on their website are glowing, it’s because they appear to filter out negative ones. They never posted my 1-star review, even though it followed their stated policies. Rule of thumb: never trust reviews shown on the seller’s own website.

Quality Concerns

I ordered the amoeba table. The design is beautiful and I'm happy with it overall.However, my first order came with deep scratches on the table, clearly damaged while manufacturing. Customer support was very pleasant and I sent it back for another one without fuss. This table also has some small damages as well. I've kept the table but I would like order from Article in the future as they clearly have quality issues which is disturbing considering their prices.

3rd ARTICLE PURCHASE AND RECOMMEND THE BRAND!

Just opened my third piece of furniture from Article and have been very happy with each one. This purchase was a VERY solid wood table which was hefty to bring inside but simple to assemble and lovely to dine on. It also arrived two weeks faster than scheduled, just before Thanksgiving.

Bought an Article sofa about four years…

Bought an Article sofa about four years ago. Normal use, properly cared for. The seam has come apart, which is not what I’d expect from a sofa at this price point.Contacted customer support and was told it’s out of warranty and no resolution or goodwill option is available. Posting this so others can decide with full information.

High Price, Low Quality, Poor Customer Service

In 2022 we purchased an Ellow 28.5" Reclining Lounge Chair in Ashford Gray for about $1200. Three years later, after very light use by a person weighing 170 pounds and less frequently by another weighing 110 pounds, the reclining mechanism began to make a loud popping noise and to function roughly, and a component in that mechanism began shredding the upholstery on the side of the seat cushion. (About six months earlier, we noticed that the seat cushion lost support and we began sinking into it, which caused the lumbar-support part of the seat back to dig into our spines.) Article responded to our inquiries by saying that there were no exceptions to their one-year warranty, despite the fact that poor workmanship and substandard materials rendered our pricey recliner unusable. Meanwhile, our similar recliner from Amazon, purchased later in 2022 at a price 1/3 that of Article’s, continues to function perfectly. Article does not stand behind its products. In stark contrast, we recently had a problem with our Arhaus sofa, purchased 14 years ago, and that company honored the lifetime warranty for its frame and springs. From now on, we will avoid Article and will instead do business with reputable companies like Arhaus, which stands behind their products.

Horrific customer service and delivery experience

I ordered an outdoor furniture set from Article last month after many former Article purchases in the past. This experience was a nightmare. Article's delivery partner, Ryder Last Mile, has not shown up for FIVE confirmed appointments over the past month. It's sad to see a formerly amazing company with great customer service sink so low. I cancelled my order after the fifth failed delivery and will never purchase from Article again.UPDATE: I have now been told that not only have I already been charged for an order that I never received, that I must now wait for Ryder to locate and return my order to Article, and allow Article another "approximately 3-5 days" to process my refund. For an order I NEVER RECEIVED.

Average Products. Awful Customer Service.

I'd say their products are better designed than functional, overall. In our case, we got a couch that looks lovely, but is just not particularly comfortable.I also ordered a desk that wasn't delivered on time and the customer success experience trying to find it and get it delivered was so awful it's shocking that this is Article's specialty. They managed to place blame on either the customer (e.g. not actively finding the 3rd party shipper and scheduling a delivery) to the 3rd party delivery company (well it's out of our hands).

Unsafe mold infested packaging

I ordered a cabinet from Article, and while the item itself looked fine, the experience was not. Once we fully removed the furniture from the box and began breaking the packaging down for disposal, we discovered the entire bottom of the box was covered in mold that looked like it had been there for awhile. The outside looked normal, so this was only visible after unpacking.Shipping a product in mold-contaminated packaging is unacceptable and raises major concerns about the company’s warehouse storage and quality control. Mold is a health risk, and no customer should receive an item stored in these conditions.When I contacted customer service, they treated the issue as minor and offered only a return or a replacement. Neither solution made sense: a replacement would likely come from the same warehouse, and returning the item requires me to re-handle moldy packaging and spend additional time fixing a problem I didn’t cause. None of this addressed the actual issue of unsafe storage.This experience was disappointing and time-consuming. Until the company takes mold contamination and warehouse conditions seriously, I cannot recommend purchasing from them. Wish I could upload photos as I have photos documenting everything.

I bought the timber leather couch two…

I bought the timber leather couch two years ago the cushions do not hold there shape especially the side pillows or armrest. One leg broke on the inside and I had to cut the felt to reinforce it. Not happy. This couch looks great at first but is not durable and the cushions do not hold there shape I have to fluff them like a bed pillow after one sit. 1 star would not recommend

Shipping takes FOREVER

I love the actual furniture but I HATE how long it takes to get ahold of someone, how long it takes to get your furniture, and there’s never ANY updates for the first like month. It’s been 3.5 week since our order and we still have 0 updates. For how much you pay you’d think they could figure out how to ship things a little faster or at the very least show updates. This will be the last thing we get because of that reason. Nobody wants to wait months for furniture.

Uncomfortable stools and difficult returns process

Ordered Ecole Kitchen stools. It took a RIDICULOUS amout of time for them to arrive, almost two months. Then when we got them, we assembled one - it was a pain in the ass to assemble with no instructions and terrible tools. Four recessed nuts that you could only turn 1/8 of a turn at a time with a flimsy wrench. We built one and it was just not comfortable. So we returned the whole lot. The return process was a nightmare, took a few weeks to finally get them picked up. In the end they made us eat the forward shipping cost even though it shipped slower than the mayflower journey to America. I will never buy from Article again.

Attractive Swivel Chair Frame, Disappointing Comfort

Attractive Frame, Disappointing ComfortMy overall experience with the purchase of three Alta Swivel Chairs was disappointing, starting with the delivery and culminating in the product itself. The bar stools were delivered and left directly on my lawn in the rain, on wet grass and dirt, instead of being placed on the walkway or driveway. On top of that initial frustration, I was ultimately disappointed with the product's critical lack of comfort, especially after seeing the recommendation from the NYTimes and great reviews on the Article website.The oak wood frame and construction are good. The wood is attractive and solid, and all the pieces are screwed together with acceptably flush joints (some slight gaps), giving the stool a durable feel.However, the seating is surprisingly uncomfortable. I'm genuinely surprised by the reviews claiming how comfortable it is. The cushion feels like sitting on a piece of semi-hard foam—it offers no comfort like a memory foam. Additionally, the low back provides no support because it’s positioned away from the back, unless you lean completely back. I also noticed the back fabric was slightly creased instead of being perfectly flush.While the design looks good, the uncomfortable seating makes these stools unusable for me, and I will probably be returning them to look for a more comfortable option.

Don't buy from this company

I ordered a bed frame, and the delivery company (Rayder) never completed the delivery as promised. Despite multiple follow-ups, the item was left on the first floor and not brought to my apartment. Customer service was unresponsive and unhelpful, promises to contact the delivery company went nowhere, and I received contradictory information. They claimed the drivers couldn’t go to the second floor, but I live on the fifth floor and my building has two elevators, so access is not an issue. This experience has been frustrating, time-consuming, and still unresolved.

Surprised at negative reviews

I am completely surprised by all the negative reviews. I have ordered multiple items from Article, from barstools to beds. All have been of extremely high quality for the price. All of my wood items beds, coffee tables and side tables have been made of beautiful, high quality wood and solidly constructed. The delivery service has been great and they have gone above and beyond in their service.The customer service has been prompt and yielded a satisfactory remedy to a slightly damaged bed frame.

Sectional cushion didn’t last more than 2 months

Had a sectional delivered 2 months ago (received on July 10th, it’s now Sep 16th) and the cushion already bent in and looks old. I barely use the sofa and I am 110 lbs. there’s no reason there should be so much wear already. Poorly made product. Reached out to their customer service and all they could do was send a video of how to fluff it. I told them it’s been 2 months and “fluffing it” will not be a long term solution. They essentially said too bad. Poor quality and terrible customer service. DO NOT RECOMMEND!

I love the look of the product

I love the look of the product, but can't review the quality because they can't get it to me. LOL. I have been waiting for two months for an office suite, and each time the delivery is scheduled, something happens, and it gets canceled. I finally canceled the order, and now I am being charged a fee for their lack of communication and organization. The product looks great on the site, but the customer service and logistics are a nightmare.

High Prices for Low Quality

Two and a half years ago, I purchased the Ellow 28.5" Reclining Lounge Chair. In the beginning, its function was equal to its appearance. But about six months ago, the seat cushion began to sag, allowing the protruding lumbar-support of the seatback to dig into my lower spine. Then a couple of weeks ago, the reclining mechanism began to make a loud popping/snapping noise and the upholstery on the side of the seat began to snag on a piece of the broken mechanism, adding a ripping noise to the symphony (the faulty part is not visible, but pieces of shredded upholstery are dropped out). I have used this recliner very lightly, and I weigh only 175 pounds, but its quality and durability have proven to be severely lacking. Article customer service simply said that I was beyond the one-year warranty, and that I needed to hire a furniture repair company to fix it. But because of damage from its defects, I will also have to have the seat reupholstered, since the reclining mechanism shredded it. My mother had a cheap no-name recliner for more than 15 years and never had a problem; we donated it and it’s probably still in use. This article recliner cost four or five times more than her chair and lasted only a couple of years. I do not recommend Article, either for its sub-par overpriced products or its weak customer service. Article doesn’t stand behind its products.

Angry delivery driver

Delivery drivers demanded to take photos of home interiors. When the customer refused, the driver became angry. I understand that they need proof of delivery, but a photo of the item at the door and outside the home should be sufficient. Contacted customer service, but they just repeated their need for proof of delivery and quickly ended the chat.Article is not what it used to be. Their delivery service has been outsourced to various third-party companies. And it looks like their customer service has been too. Had good experiences with Article in the past, but our more recent experiences with Article's delivery and customer service has been consistently disappointing.
