Horrible money making machine
Horrible money making machine. Pays only $41 (not increased for 10 years) for an acupuncture treatment so only the least experienced, least qualified take it. Makes the profession look bad. Avoid

ASH is the contracted provider for SCAN Medicare healthcare and consumers are directed to ASH’s website to choose an in-network provider to access services for acupuncture and chiropractic services. Of the very small list of providers in my area showing on ASH’s website, only one has been confirmed to accept their insurance and that provider has been unresponsive to phone calls and online requests for an appointment. A company that is contracted to offer specialty services and requires use of in-network providers MUST ensure they can meet the requirements for availability or there is essentially no network from which to choose. This is a form of fraud or at the least, deceptive marketing. When asked if they would add a non-network provider upon request, since they lack a valid provider list, I was informed that it can take 3 months to add a provider. I will be filing a complaint with SCAN and Medicare directly to report this negligence and improper advertising of services that don’t exist.
I have a disability- and had surgery to help correct the issue- they denied in October- then again in December only in January did they approve 5 visits- I have scar tissue build up and am in a perpetual denial/approve 1 or 2- then denial.Cynthia the claims approval person has no idea what she is doing- spinal stenosis with Myopathy- but says further therepy is not necessary. Is she a doctor? No! Is she a nurse-No! Is she a physical therapist-nope! But She thinks she is GOD! And she is the only person who determines who gets physical therepy. Penicillin pushers are in charge of everything!
Horrible experience - only allows $44 for a chiro visit, and double counts it against both my chiro and physical therapy visit allotments. Said they'd work with my provider to get it fixed but never did and never followed up. Every chiro I've ever been to says they are terrible.
I subscribed to Active&Fit Direct, a fitness program operated by American Specialty Health (ASH), through Amazon’s employee benefits on April 13th. They advertised access to gyms under their “Standard” plan, including Planet Fitness Monroe and Planet Fitness Woodinville. After four visits, it was clear these gyms had no relationship with Active&Fit Direct. Staff and management had never heard of the program, even though ASH continues to list them as in-network locations. When I contacted ASH’s customer service, I was stuck in an AI call loop. It took multiple tries to speak with a human, only to be told they would not issue any refund for the unusable service.Active&Fit Direct is misleading customers with false gym partnerships and hiding behind ASH’s corporate structure to avoid accountability. I’m escalating this issue internally at Amazon to prevent other employees from being scammed.Avoid them. This service is deceptive and provides no actual value.
Parent company of “activeandfitdirect.com”. Which is a total scam as they charge you for gym memberships then hide behind discrepancies of birth dates and zip codes, as to honoring said memberships. Annual siphoning, 360.00. Rude and unhelpful staff that claims ignorance in trying to resolve issues. *any company willing to take a veteran’s money and then tell them they are on their own and left with no recourse…. ; does seem a little unamerican. Avoid the scam.
This company is a total scam! Insurance companies use them to process claims and they DON'T PAY! I deny patient care and deny providers payment. I am not sure how they get away with stealing all this money from everyone, and nothing is ever done! It has been going on for years!
In 25 years working as a chiropractor, I have never come across a more obstructive, inefficient, and corrupt organization. To anyone considering purchasing health insurance that is managed by this network group, I would highly recommend that you reconsider and go in a different direction. They will deny much-needed care, and make it impossible for your doctors to provide the care that you need.
Pay is the lowest of all insurance management companies. They also harass you about recredentialing as a provider, non-stop, very unprofessional and constantly give deadlines a few days out. Why any insurance chooses them is beyond me.
I am a senior citizen with a Medicare Advantage Plan that offers me a free home exercise kit every year through Silver and Fit, an ASH company. I ordered a kit on January 5; as of today (Feb 20) I still have not received it. I tried calling them and no one answered. I emailed them; they told me to wait longer. Then they said they re-ordered the kit; I received neither. I keep emailing them; they told me to call the manufacturer myself! Their vendor, but they want me to call them! I did so; they couldn't get anywhere with ASH either. They sent me a USPS tracking number that appears to be non operational. On Feb 14, I emailed them again and they told me I had to wait another 30 days while they "investigated." I finally filed a complaint with the BBB. ASH called me today and asked me all the questions I had already answered several times--a complete waste of my time. I asked them why they have to spend all this time figuring out what happened to the original order, and the second order--why don't they just send me the order and then they can take all the time they need to figure out what happened on their end. I am a senior citizen, and all I know is that I pay for Medicare and my Advantage Plan every month; this is a benefit to which I was entitled on Jan 1, and they are making me wait nearly an entire calendar quarter to receive what I was entitled to at the beginning of the year.
