I recently purchased an Approved BMWi3 fromAshok Rajaratnam at Group 1 Borehamwood.I had excellent service and a thorough handover to me, even though it was a second hand car. I am very pleased with my new car, which I believe is one of the best BMW have made, it being my fourth i3 since 2016.
My car was damaged in a small car park while I was coming out of a shop. Luckily I saw it happen plus I also managed to stop.the driver who admitted liability! I have just collected it from the Borehamwood Group 1 repair department in Chester Road. Ian Pratt organised a wonderful job. My car is now sparkling. Hubs caps all scrape free. Dent and marks gone. Many thanks to everyone. Margret (correct spellng) Jarvis👍🫠👩
Went here lunch break to look with work friend and same issues as before again. Now looking at these other reviews I understand why and how this bad service comes from these people.
Removed as dealing with this legally now
Service here again was really so bad over the weekend we went to mini me and my best friend they were so friendly, then my friend wanted to look at a i3 they was not even busy and the lady would not even get us the keys said we need to come back with her dad we will go back to mini with my friends dad she’s actually 19 and has her own full time job and deposit to buy her own car. The lady told her that needs to get her day to be on her finance very strange situation and said to make a appointment next time. Why are the reception staff so nice but the sales women so horrible and fake? They need customer service training I’m sure
I came in to BMW Group1 to see Alex and long story short i was denied a test drive for what ever reason and the whole enviroment just felt off this is not a dealership for customers to buy cars i have just read these reviews and i think i understand what is going on.
Dealt with Kerry in relation to servicing of my vehicle. She was professional and courteous at all times and dealt with any issues that arose.
Avoid at all cost!!!!I entrusted my BMW M4—previously in perfect working condition—for routine servicing with this garage. Shortly after the service was completed, I began experiencing issues with gear shifting. I returned the car to have it inspected, and was told that the problem was unrelated to their service and simply a case of "bad luck." They diagnosed a faulty DME (Digital Motor Electronics) unit and quoted a replacement cost of £2,700. After some negotiation, they agreed to carry out the work for £2,341.I then waited nearly three months for the part to arrive from Germany, during which time I received no updates or communication unless I chased them myself. Once the part finally arrived, I was informed that an additional issue had been discovered involving a different component, raising the total repair cost to £4,700. They offered a so-called "gesture of goodwill" to complete everything for £3,018.15.This was surprising, as they had previously promised to resolve the issue for £2,300. At that point, I requested that the car be returned to me unrepaired so I could take it elsewhere. However, I was told I would still be required to pay the £2,300—or the vehicle would not be released. In my experience, this business operates with questionable transparency and a serious lack of accountability. I strongly advise others to be extremely cautious when dealing with them. What began as a simple service turned into an ordeal that cost me time, money, and unnecessary stress. Proceed with care, and consider other, more reputable options.
Avoid Group 1 BMW Borehamwood. Bought a BMW M5 in Nov 2024 — coolant issue was denied at sale but confirmed by another dealer weeks later. The car’s been back 4 times for the same problems, and I discovered undisclosed bonnet repairs. Poor customer care. Escalated to finance company and Financial Ombudsman. Don’t trust this dealership — get an independent inspection.
I WOULD GIVE UNLIMITED STARS IF I COULD JUST WOW!!I CANT THANK THEM ENOUGH FOR THE HELP THEY PROVIDED ME TODAY.. A WONDERFUL WONDERFUL LOVELY LADY.. I FEEL CRIMINAL AS I FORGOT HER NAME....HER AND HER TEAM!!Im a new driver and i'm still getting a hang of the car thing, i went morrisons today for a routine grocery shop...Low and behold..my car wouldn't start...I saw a dealership across the road and gave a call..Bare in mind my car wasn't purchased from them nor its a bmw..I drive a little blue fiesta..After the call the wonderful lady and her colleague walked all the way down to the Morrisons car park out of the goodness of their hearts and helped me diagnose the issue...With there help..They sent a crew over to jumpstart my car..THERE THE REASON I WAS ABLE TO GET HOME!!! No penny was spent with the jump start either, not driving a bmw or shopped there... There service was so great that i ended up looking into vacancies over at the dealership as i would know i'd be looked after! Please reply with your names so i could aim to send emails about my experience today up and up to make sure it gets heard..Your dealership, i'm recommending it to everyone in my circle weather its queries or looking for a new car to purchase..THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
I visited Group 1 BMW to collect a car with a friend. I personally own a Jaguar and can only wish my local dealer offered the level of service we experienced today! Excellent on all accounts. Thank you to Ash and everyone we met.
I purchsed a '22 plate X5 M Competition with 15k miles on it - was promised it would have a service prior to collection, this was not done on the big day that i was due to collect the beast - after spending a further 2 hours at dealership - just about to try and tax vehicle ( by this point i had transferred Group 1 nearly £45k) - low and behold, the salesman suddenly disappeared with out a bye or leave and scurried in to manager's office - after a good few minutes of being left dangling i walked in to the office only to be told i could not tax the vehicle as they had forgotten to MOT it! They tried blaming another branch for this shocking level of service which meant my "big day" of collecting a VERY nice car was ruined - to make matters worse, they did not even seem that bothered about how badly they had let me down - if i ran my business like this, it would run out of customers pretty soon. Avoid, Avoid, Avoid is my advice.
Avoid group 1 or barons bmw borehamwood as they are absolutely awful and my experience of spending 28k on a vehicle of which had a fault which they can’t repair the manger Riaz now ignores me along with the other manager Paul, absolutely disgusting service and to resolve I am now having to go legal route, it was a nightmare and they are not good people, promised the earth and never delivered, now having to deal with this with customer experience team!!! Do not spend your money with this stealer
Excellent and professional customer service from Ian in sales. He organised and arranged for a test drive of the XM model which they didn’t have in stock but he managed to get my husband and myself one in from elsewhere just for a test drive. We wanted to compare the drive with the BMW X5 and the manager was kind enough to let us borrow his own personal one to take it out for a test drive. Really impressed with their service. Even the receptionists were lovely and offered us tea and coffee and a chocolate for a treat! 😊
Avoid Barons (BMW One) – Deceptive Sales Practices and Poor Customer ServiceI purchased my 24 plate BMW 230i as new from Barons (BMW One). Unfortunately, the after-sales experience was horrendous. When I arrived to pick up my car at 5 PM, the after-sales customer representative had no time to assist me with setting up the car or going through its features. Her exact words were, “It's 5 PM, I know you booked at 5 PM and are picking up the car today, but I'm going home now, here is my card, bye.” This should've been my clue to cancel the purchase, but I proceeded and collected the car.Two months later, after getting the car washed, the driver's side headlight became foggy. I reported this to Barons, and they assured me it would be covered under warranty and scheduled a service appointment. However, the service department called me the next day to inform me that the new car I bought had previously been in a body shop, and they refused to work on it. This was from the same dealer, and the headlight was cracked while the bumper showed no damage.I contacted the salesperson with a video of the service representative explaining the situation, and the salesperson accused the service rep of lying and even threatened to sack him for telling me the truth. The sales manager was then extremely rude, stating they would not review or replace the headlight. So, if you want to pay for a new car but receive a crashed car, buy from Barons (BMW One), who do not value service and have no integrity. I have bought only BMWs from this dealer for the past 15 years and have had all service work done by the same dealer. I hope they do not do the same to you. If you purchase a car from them, make sure they take off all the bumpers, as they might sell you a crashed car at new prices.Avoid at all costs.
Waited 2 weeks for appointment to be told they won’t do insurance repairs, if someone has previously worked on the car despite the insurance company authorising the work. Bodyshop manager, Ian, very rigid, rude and dismissive in his behaviour.
I wish I had read their review before taking my car to them.My car was towed to their garage and the warranty company told them to investigate the fault and report back to them. The technician said she would need one hour to check the car and that was £260. The warranty company said I had to pay because the fault may not be covered by my policy. I authorised the inspection. Only for this clown to come back and asked for further four hours of inspection by this time my car had been with them for four weeks. I kicked against that and towed my car to another BMW certified garage. They fix the car for £484 including MOT. I paid £0 to this new garage for inspection. Please avoid Borehamwood BMW and Mini Centre like plaque. They're a modern day scam and they are so unrepentant. I informed them about the fact that they over exaggerated the fault with my mini countryman and that was unprofessional. They said that is how they operate. It cost me a further £130 to tow the vehicle from their garage which is quite shame as that would have been enough to fix the actual car. They need to be investigated by the trading standards.
I wish I read the reviews on here before taking my car there! The customer service at the Borehamwood Centre was extremely poor, and the explanations I received were misleading. This was my first visit to the Centre, solely for a safety recall on my airbag. However, after collecting my car, a fault related to the airbag system appeared. The Centre falsely claimed that the airbag fault was present when I brought the car in, which is simply untrue—they had just replaced the airbag?!! Shocked by their dishonesty, I lost trust in their ability to resolve the issue and decided to take my car to a local garage. The local garage quickly identified that BMW had failed to clear the error codes after installing the new airbag, which had triggered the fault. Once the error codes were cleared, the fault disappeared. This experience has left me extremely dissatisfied with the service provided by BMW. I will not be returning for future maintenance or repairs. I would also advise others to take photos of their dashboard and car before handing it over to avoid similar issues.
I wish I'd read the other reviews. Avoid at all costs. Spent over £600 servicing my car here and they handed me back a flat key battery so the car wouldn't start. The salesman then broke my key and said it was an old break and I'd have to order another one from BMW. From start to finish the service was appauling. Kept waiting because they were 'on their lunch break' and no manager available to talk to me because she was picking her daughter up. What?! What kind of outfit is this. Quite frankly shocked and outraged with how I was spoken to. I do not need an explanation about how batteries work. At the end of the day you are paying once they got the payment from me they had zero interest in helping me out. Really bizarre and shocking service
