Brought my Mum here yesterday. We had coffee and cake in the Cafe. All was very nice, but especially staff member Ian. He was so lovely with my Mum (who has Altzimers) He was lovely with her, taking time to chat and make her feel special. He made our visit there extra special. Rattan corner unit falling apart
We bought a rattan garden set 4 years ago for over £1000. We were under the impression the set was guaranteed for at least 5 years as that was the normal length of time. The set was dutifully stored each October. After year 4 the set was put out and immediately one part of the edge in the corner started coming apart then another part then the seat itself. It was obvious it was a manufacturing fault as the second part of the corner unit was perfect. As a result we contacted Burleydam. There was an instant reply and a nice email stating they would contact the suppliers. We received a reply stating there was only a 2 year guarantee. I was surprised as I thought 2 years would be for a set costing £500 not £1000 . I wrote back complaining we'd been missed. That's when Burleydam washed their hand of us. They refused to reply to my emails at all. From instant reply to no customer service at all in one foul swoop!Make sure you get guarantees in writing. Very disappointing.

I ordered and paid for a garden set…
I ordered and paid for a garden set £1599 on saturday. Called Monday to see when it was being delivered and spoke to someone called Alison who advised me they hadnt sold that set for 2 years so not sure how I ordered it . And that they would refund me within 3 to 5 days. I advised I was very unhappy and asked for a manager (at which point Alison advised me she wished she had worn a bullet proof vest and agreed it was poor) to call me back that day I am still waiting for that call and my refund. Tried calling today and it just goes to voice mail please tell me this isn't a sam, very concerned and at the very least this is shocking customer service

Special Offers.
Visited yesterday 10.02.25. Intending to pick up special offer on chicken pellets for the garden , I was told they were all gone despite the offer being advertised for the whole of February, last month I visited on the 20th intending to pick up the special offer of gloves and was told they had sold out but if I come in the first two weeks of the offer I would be guaranteed a purchase,obviously not true. I will give up and go to Premier Plants in future.

Exceptional customer service and after care…
We purchased an all-weather garden set from Burleydam in June 2022. The purchasing experience was excellent, price was competitive, the team were helpful and all delivery promises were kept.Unfortunately in March 2024 we experienced a problem with the glass table top, it had discoloured over winter. I popped into Burleydam as the set had a 5 year guarantee. I spoke to Andy and after viewing photographs of the issue and seeing our receipt, he couldn’t do enough to help me and to rectify the issue. He immediately arranged a free of charge replacement. This was delivered this morning by Tom and his colleague (so sorry, I didn’t get his name). They gave a call 45 minutes beforehand to let me know they were on the way and once here, helped to remove the faulty table top, ready for the new one to be fitted. Tom was so friendly and professional. Thank you so much guys! I cannot fault the customer service from Burleydam, from the point of sale to their customer care after sale, it is exceptional and very worthy of a 5* review. We wouldn’t hesitate to purchase from them again in the future.

Afternoon Tea - What a Treat
6 Of us had a lovely afternoon tea today, we all thought it was superb. The staff in the Orchard cafe were absolutely lovely, attentive, nothing was too much trouble and everyone was friendly with a smile on their faces. The food itself (sandwiches, quiche and cakes) was lovely and fresh and the drinks nice and hot. We were served at our tables and extremely well looked after. This was a real treat. I find the Orchard cafe a hard place to be beaten for afternoon tea. Well done to all the staff and big big thanks!

Poor service and lies…
Awful customer service I was assured by there staff the price I was paying would be the same next year no further reductions DO NOT BELIEVE this 10 weeks later this it was reduced £300 I pointed this out to staff who told me there manager will ring me in 3 days time he did not just the same staff I spoke to rang me to say there manager was not willing to do anything, I asked for his full name I was refused his full name on data protection and was told its Colin but he does not speak to customers?? I left a comment on there Facebook for anyone to dm me if they require info on how I was stung to which they immediately deleted my comment and barred me off they Facebook site unbelievable Colin and eh Williams need to review how they treat all and especially long term customers

Excellent price, service and communication
Sofa set ordered on Sunday. There was an issue with my card verification code, but staff communicated with me by email despite the fact the store had closed an hour since. The following day we received a phone call to say it would be delivered on Friday, which it duly was, allowing us to assemble and be ready to invite friends to enjoy it on Saturday. All in all an excellent experience and a great price too. I thoroughly recommend Burleydam.

It is a lovely place to visit but sadly lacks disabilty parking.. its a huge pllace but only 4 disabled spaces. its difficcult to get a wheel chair out in the regular spaces

Excellent service from friendly & helpful staff.
Went in to look for door mats and garden furniture. Spotted a corner set with built in firepit and decided to try it out for comfort. One of the shop staff called Andy came over and he was brilliant. He demonstrated the firepit and explained the options available in terms of extra seats and suitable parasol. He was joined by a colleague Bella and between them the level of customer service was both friendly and professional. We left to consider the purchase as it was a lot of money, but we returned the following morning to make the purchase. We actively sought out Andy & Bella as we were so impressed with them from the previous day, and again they were so friendly & helpful. We purchased the set and an illuminated parasol in total over £2k and were given a delivery slot 3 days later. Very pleased with the purchase and delighted with the help and service given by Andy & Bella. THANK YOU!

Not a dog friendly place
Burleydam garden centre portrays itself as a dog friendly establishment, which as far as the shopping areas and garden centre are concerned it is. However the cafe is most definitely not, they do not have an area for people with dogs to sit in and have a drink or something to eat. Whilst there on Saturday with my elderly Aunt we were told we could sit outside in a pod that was unheated and had openings that allowed whatever the weather was access, bearing in mind it was extremely windy and cold. I know it is up to the owners as to whether they allow dogs on their premises, but why encourage dog owners and then exclude them especially when there are 3 divided areas to the cafe, I was very disappointed to say the least.

False advertising and poor service…
Purchased an expensive set of garden furniture on the basis “no assembly required” which was clearly stated in the description. Waited weeks for delivery - longer than stated - only to have multiple boxes of flat packed furniture delivered on a pallet to the front door. Complained by phone, was told to email in writing. Emailed twice and phoned again - no response over 3 weeks! Finally got a disappointing email response suggesting the delivery instructions (pallet for large items) was clear. Clearly they’ve not read the complaint properly although they’ve now updated the description… Zero customer service - no one cares. Avoid and buy elsewhere if you can.

No common sense …
As good customers of this garden centre spending a lot of money over the years. We were today shocked when we browsing outside at the plant section . We took our masks of to enjoy a breath of fresh air as we were outside. We were accosted by a unpleasant young lady an employee. She demanded we put the face masks back on. We pointed out we were outside in the fresh air and had our vaccine passports with us . We were told that did not matter . As a result we did not purchase the outdoor furniture that we had come in to buy. We will not be returning to this store again .

Gorgeous L shaped Rattan dining set, really comfy & very reasonable price. Didn't have to wait too long for it & delivered by very helpful man who carried it through to the back garden. Can't wait for the warm weather to use it again.

The garden center worth visiting.
The garden center is huge. First time for my hubby and I to visit The Orchard (cafeteria). Food was excellent. Hubby had veggie curry and chips and I had feta roasted veggies bruschetta. The flavor was awesome. Will definitely recommend our friends to try the food there. We spent a wonderful afternoon there.

Avoid Burley Dam Garden Centre
We needed some Jasmine, Tree Ivy and Lavender plants so I phoned several retailers before speaking to a lady at Burley Dam Garden Centre in Little Sutton. I was told they had stock of the plants I needed so I went to the garden centre the following day when I walked around the displays and picked up and paid for my items:My wife said that I had bought the wrong ones. She said she wanted, bigger Lavender white Jasmine, not yellow coloured flowers. So I went back to the store where a member of staff processed a refund for the returned items. Later, my wife said that the quality of the four Ivy plants was poor as they had started to turn yellow. So, I put these into the boot of my car and drove back to the garden centre. I was able to park right outside the entrance and was met by a young lady who gave me a trolley. With that, I removed all four plants from my car and put them into the trolley provided and took them to the checkout area for a refund.I was met by Jo who asked me for my receipt. This was dated from the day before and was also marked by the refund for the Jasmine and Lavender plants from earlier. This lady was just rude and had difficulty with the refund (I have no idea why). She called over a supervisor who suggested that I had already received a refund for these plants earlier in the day. I was asked to produce my refund receipt from earlier and this showed that she was wrong. My receipt was also marked with the refunded item so there was no reason for confusion. With a long queue of customers behind me, Jo was unable to reconcile the refund so she radioed for another supervisor. A lady called herself Gaynor came over and asked me about when I bought these plants. Then she disappeared leaving me standing by the till within hearing range of the even longer queue of unhappy customers behind.Things went from bad to much worse when Gaynor returned. She asked me “why was I retuning four Ivy plants when I had only put two into my trolley”? Understandably, I became annoyed at what was being implied. My response was to ask her on what basis she could make such an accusation. She then said that the girl outside who gave me the trolley “swore that you had only put two plants in your trolley”.I asked her to look at the security recording as this would show clearly when I arrived, what I took out from my vehicle and what I put in my trolley. She refused to do this claiming she was too busy and did not have time.Eventually, after about 20 minutes, she instructed Jo to give me the refund that I was entitled to and with that I left the store and walked towards my car.As I did so, the girl who had given me the trolley suddenly appeared so I asked her why she told Gaynor that I had only put two Ivy plants into my trolley? She said that that was what she thought I did. When I told her that Gaynor had claimed that she had sworn that I had only put two plants into my trolley she denied this.I asked her who the owner of the business was to which she replied “my father”. I also asked her what his name was but she refused to say nor would she confirm who she was. Then Gaynor came out to where I was and started acting in a strange way. She just did not get how appalling she and her staff had been towards me as a customer.On reflection, before she even thought to confront me about the number of plants I had placed in my trolley, she should have reviewed the security footage as this would have clearly shown that she and the lady with blond hair (who I now understand was Emily Cornelissen) were badly mistaken.It is completely unacceptable to wrongly accuse anyone of dishonesty without first, establishing the facts to back up such a claim.To Adrian Cornelissen, owner of Burleydam Garden Centre, you should be ashamed that you have staff members who are so poorly trained as to treat customers in the way that I have been treated.Shame on you!
