I have been fitting bathrooms for…

I have been fitting bathrooms for nearly 20 years and for the money I have never fitted such poor quality products as Burlington. Every job I’ve done where the client has supplied Burlington there has been a problem with st least one product. For example most recently I fitted a concealed shower valve. Usually takes roughly 18 turns of ptfe to seal a 1/2” or 3/4” male to female connection. The valve leaked on the hot inlet. I removed the valve cleaned up the fitting and then applied 25 turns of ptfe tape refitted the valve and it leaked again so tried an excessive 32 turns of ptfe tape to only find it leaked again. Burlington supplied me with a replacement valve which after going though the same process that also leaked. Finally Burlington managed to find one that didn’t leak. But by this time 2 weeks had passed meaning the client was not happy due to it being their only bathroom and now extended the time they couldn’t use it. My tiler had to be put back twice. Burlington assured me they would reimburse me and the client for the inconvenience once they’re tested the valves themselves. 3 months have now passed with little or no information from Burlington. When I finally got an answer they told me they had tested the valves and there was no leaks. So no reimbursement for the inconvenience to my client or myself. To add insult to injury I had to then return to the job as the thermostatic valve has now packed up on the shower valve which also had to be replaced so more lost time and still no compensation. in summary AVOID BURLINGTON AT ALL COSTS. THE PRODUCTS ARNT FIT FOR PORPOSE AND THE CUSTOMER SUPPORT TEAM ARE AS USFUL AS A CHOCOLATE KETTLE

Beware no sink waste included, wrong connectors

I wanted a brushed stainless steel tap for the bathroom sink. I had one in the kitchen and prefer to chrome as it doesn't watermark. I bought what I thought was Cross water stainless steel brushed tap but it is a brushed stainless 'look' and watermarks in the same way as chrome. The tap is slightly brown, like a light nickel colour, not like brushed steel. This tap cost £180 but came with no waste (pop up plug) so I had to get a chrome one quickly for the plumber to fit. Brown tap and bright chrome plug. The waste pop up plug from Crosswater is about £80 as an extra. The plumber fitted the flexible connectors that came in the box with the Crosswater tap. Turned on the water and they fell off. The wrong size fitting had been sent. A trip to the plumbers merchants to get the right size while the plumber waits.

Avoid Crosswater if you are looking for good customer service.

So We purchased 2 of their Sontuoso Basin Vessel sinks for our Master Bath. They look great, but after just a short time one of them cracked. The sink made a loud noise and we saw a hairline crack down one side and into the drain opening. They won't replace it. Now we are trying to find a new one but they say this model is discontinued. I would not purchase anything from Crosswater if this is how they treat customers.

Terrible Experience

Terrible Experience – Avoid Crosswater BathroomsIf I could give zero stars, I would. After placing an order over a month ago, I’ve had nothing but problems. The delays were excessive, with no proactive updates on their part. Every time I called, I spent hours on hold listening to their smug on-hold messages about how great they are. When someone finally answered, they gave false promises just to get me off the phone.Weeks of being strung along, and still no sign of my order. This company is either incompetent or intentionally misleading. I've had enough and will be taking my business elsewhere. Save yourself the stress—choose a supplier that values its customers and actually delivers what they promise.

Absolutely dire - I will never buy Crosswater again

Absolutely dire - We ordered a complete bathroom on Oct 1st for delivery on Oct 7th. Since then, we have had many broken promises and a “partial” delivery. We are still outstanding the shower tray and brassware. We have no delivery date, except to wait 2 more weeks. My fitter has suspended work and left site. My local shop has tried its best to obtain timeframes and commitment from Crosswater - it is clear that Crosswater just ignore them or issue bullshit. I will never buy anything in the Crosswater group of companies again. There is no accountability, and there are no reparations for such clearly dire service. If I could, I would hand back the Crosswater stuff and go elsewhere. My mistake was to install the backboxes for the hidden valves. That commits me to Crosswater. I will never make the mistake of ordering Crosswater again, and I will never start a bathroom install until all the kit is on site. Update 16/12/24 > This is still an utter disaster. The Crosswater shower tray has still not arrived after 70 days - Crosswater have made umpteen promises of a delivery date and they fly by. My advice is to NEVER allow any Crosswater kit into your home. No business can survive for long with such terrible service.

Extremely poor service

On September 13th I ordered a Crosswater matching shower, valve unit and basin taps via a local trusted supplier who I’ve used be fire. The supplier has chased this order numerous times to be told Crosswster has a new computer system and that both items were in stock on two day delivery.Today 5 weeks on I still don’t have the taps. The Crosswater sales rep delivered the shower personally but not the taps. The shower has been fitted and plasterers are coming tomorrow. I cannot now buy an alternative or the items won’t match. Sales staff tell me they do not know when the taps will be delivered and do not seem to care. It took 25 minutes to get through on the phone and the promised call from a senior manager has not happened. VERY disappointed in this company’s service and won’t use them again or recommend them.

A company is complete shambles

A company is complete shambles. They are truly unable to full test online systems before its live and every order has resulted in over 4 weeks of wait. They have also lied to on a daily basis about priority deliveries that never turn up (order from 27th Sept)!!! one of many orders we now have no faith in ever seeing. POOR!!

Used to be a very reliable

Used to be a very reliable, decent company, before the software update. Since then I've just experienced lengthy delays (often 30+ minutes) waiting for the phone to be answered. They've lost the plot when it comes to deliveries as well. What used to be a next day service has stretched to 2 weeks if we're lucky.Desperately bad company to deal with currently.

Do not stand behind their warranty

Do not stand behind their warranty, metalwork on £100 toilet seat pitted and rusted after less than 5 months use, care instructions state not to use abrasive or bleach cleaner, which I did not. After sales say damage was caused by the cleaner despite it not being abrasive nor containing bleach despite what their care instructions state. Very poor quality. product and service, avoid.

Dishonest sales policies

We chose a Burlington recessed sink and toilet but their tech support refused to supply a template for the counter top because we were not purchasing the vanity from their very limited range. They should make this clear on the website and stop wasting customer time.

Really disappointed in the Burlington…

Really disappointed in the Burlington sanitary ware, we have had a bathroom refit 3 months ago and already the Burlington toilet seat has gone yellow with no use of harsh chemicals and lid always up when bleach used in the bowl, customer service not interested and trying to say we have made it go yellow using something we shouldn’t have to clean, their product clearly aren’t up to standard if they can’t survive in a bathroom environment without discolouration! Wouldn’t recommend buying these product, they charge premium prices for a below average product.

Hard to clean rimless toilet and seat

I bought a rimless toilet and toilet seat, toilet roll holder, vanity basin with wash-stand and taps and a dual shower as I loved the period looks and had seen there products used in numerous hotels and restaurants. Not overly impressed with the weight and feel of the toilet flush handle, basin and shower taps and the toilet roll handle has to be regularly tightened. My biggest issue is the basin has to be scrubbed daily, especially after brushing teeth. Every little piece of dirt, dusk or debris seems to stick to the white porcelain/finish which was described as the opposite. Not to mention the rimless toilet bowl. OMGoodness, it stains yellow after a few days and no toilet brush can reach the area so I have to put on rubber gloves and scrub with a scourer. I live in a soft water area and have installed 3 bathrooms in this one room and this has never happened or in the cloakroom toilet. Again I blame the finish/porcelain or whatever this nano coating is. Also after about 6 months the first toilet seat started to yellow and discolour. There is only 2 of us and we use another toilet more regularly. Also as I decorated this bathroom predominantly white, I bought and used clear, bleach and taint free cleaning products that had won awards for their eco benefits. The owner of the bathroom company was helpful when I complained but the Burlington rep wasn't and even went as far as to imply I was lying about the cleaning products I was using. As everyone else has mentioned, these toilet seats are expensive and are not even solid wood. I bought another as the showroom gave me a discount as I think they were embarrassed with the Burlington rep. Within the year that also discoloured and now I see its started to peel. Yes the Burlington products look nice, but don't be fooled with their price that you're getting great quality. If I could re-do this room again I would and would avoid Burlington.
