Faulty Car - DCS not accepting liability

UPDATED 23/12/25I have had my steering rack replaced, along with work subframe mount bushes and a new battery. The total for this work came to £1500. Their email box is full!-------Much like the previous reviews, I wish that I had taken the time to check here before buying my most recent vehicle.I purchased my vehicle in March 2025 and noticed a couple of things wrong on the test drive and they were present on the MOT that had been done a couple of months earlier. This should have thrown me a red flag straight away, but you know what it is like, you're excited and you let your guard down a little (thinking everything will be alright). They agreed to fix a broken wing mirror and shock absorbers, but in hindsight, why weren't they fixed before selling the vehicle?Within a few days of getting the vehicle back, I said to the garage that something still wasn't right with the vehicle and there was a minor ticking/knocking noise. They had the car back a couple of times and reassured my wife that basically, it was a quirk of the car and all in our heads. As we drove the car more and more the noise was getting louder, but I was convinced that it was me, how could the dealer be wrong?Come end of July 2025, the noise was unbearable and it sounded like the steering wheel would fall off, a horrible rattle. I took it to my local garage, because if it was a £100 fix, I would have just done it. However, they came back and said that there were 60 recorded diagnostic failures and there is something wrong with the steering rack and probably best to go to Citroen, get the codes sorted and get a quote for a steering rack (whilst I was there).I didn't do this, as I thought, hell to that, I'm within 6 months of the purchase and I had mentioned this noise (albeit quieter) within the first month of having the vehicle. DCS took it back in and did 'tests' and determined a "small" amount of play in the steering rack but ultimately there is nothing wrong with the vehicle.I called BS at this point and I started to inform them via email that their conclusion was incorrect and there is definitely something wrong and I want it fixing, as the Consumer Rights Act allows me to do. The burden of proof is on DCS, not me.It has come to the point where I have sent an email over a week ago and heard nothing, I have exercised my right to repair, they refused. I have exercised my final right to reject and they have gone silent. Therefore, I will be claiming through the credit card company for a vehicle on not satisfactory quality and not fit for purpose and I will use the Small Claims Court as a backup. They shall not get away with this, this is bad professionalism and not the way to run a business. There are further points to this discussion that I would like to add, to interest any potential future purchasers:1. They have mechanic ramps in their garage, however, they rent them out and send all of their vehicles to a garage called MCR services. Funny thing is, MCR is next door. I find this a very strange arrangement. They have ramps and all the tools in their garage but they rent those spaces out to people who don't work on their vehicles that they have sold, yet they farm it next door.2. David Gilbert is the owner of the company. But he is anonymous. No direct communication methods to him, Google searches don't produce anything about him and it is almost like he wants to be invisible. Why?3. The only contact method is to the "Sales" email address and by phone, but written communication goes through a single source, meaning that complaints and issues are filtered through one person, although I have been told that they would need to speak to the owner first. Surely, if I am going to take enforcement action against your business, the owner should be liaising with me directly to resolve the issue?3. I was offered a goodwill payment towards a new steering rack (no amount given). This is strange, you wouldn't offer me money to fix a part that you so vehemently said has nothing wrong with it, that is just odd. I know what happens, I accept the goodwill payment and I can't really have any future recourse.4. Finally, they tried to use my own words and emotions against me, even in writing. I said to them after I took the vehicle in after the first repair had been done, that I maybe "over-thinking" the issue but I want you to put my mind at rest. In their final email reply to me, they basically said that I admitted that I over-think things and maybe that was the issue, not the vehicle. Just unprofessional and rude. If you disagree with me, don't make it personal, fight your case in court or just give me a partial refund and take it back if there is nothing wrong with it - me thinks there is!I would say that you should use your gut and just hold out a little longer for a car sales place that will give you piece of mind rather than false promises and unprofessionalism.

I wish I could give zero stars!!!

I wish I could give zero stars!!!! The woman that works there is shockingly rude!! She definitely needs to improve her customer service skills.

The car we bought was faulty and was…

The car we bought was faulty and was apparent after only a few days. Yes, at the outset the Sales guy was courteous and offered courtesy car while ours was looked at. However, repair was not done and was to be a costly repair. Spoken to by a salesman there in a defensive and aggressive manner. Confidence completely gone so decided to return the car and was refunded as expected. Main issue is TRUST. Will never buy another car from them ever again. Oh yes and said car is now back on the forecourt at a higher price, the following day !!!!

Waste of Time

Buyers need to be aware that the price they advertise is the price you pay. They do not negotiate. I thought I'd let you know as they are not courteous enough to advertise this fact or mention it until you've wasted your time looking at one of their cars.
