Their greed is never-ending

Their greed is never-ending. I was a paid users for 5 years but couldn't take the price increase doubling every single year. The product is good, but a very greedy company and have no sense of pricing structure. I moved to UpNote and couldn't be happier.

Very frustrated - 2FA Fatally Broken, Support Inaccessible Without It

Very frustrated. Evernote 2FA doesn’t work, and its customer support doesn’t work. There is no way that you can contact their support desk without running into a 2FA login wall, which is a fatal problem if their 2FA doesn’t work.

When the auto-renewal time came

When the auto-renewal time came, they upgraded my plan from the premium to the Advanced so I got charged 270 for the year rather than the usual 140. Did this without my permission. In retrospect I see they sent a couple of emails saying that they would do this, but their emails either go to my spam or to "promotions" or I ignore them....just because they tell me they are going to force an upgrade doesn't make it ok to do it. I don't care if they warn or not, I did not sign up for this new plan. So now they've lost my trust and I am cancelling all together and going back to OneNote. Good job EverNote. I do NOT recommend.

This is a company who tries to use bad business by making it impossible for users to cancel their subscription. I have been a user for ofver 15 years, and totally removing an cancellation button in the userflow is on purpose. that is not an accident.

Once a fantastic product - now a miserable expensive mistake

Once a fantastic product, but Bending Spoons have managed to destroy it completely. The worse it gets the more expensive. These culprits strategy is to squeeze as much money from earlier customers as possible. Shame on you!

Not worth any stars

If you are using an older version don't upgrade until you've read all the reviews about the ads that will ruin your experience if you upgrade. If I could give this zero stars I would. Ruined by ads, very long ads that prevent you from exiting or using the app unless you subscribe. I'm gathering up all my notes as soon as I can access them and moving to another app to store them.

Don’t waste your money!

I have been using the paid version of Evernote for more than 12 years - used to love it! This will my last year of subscription having watched it go from £37 a year, up to £50 and then this year doubled to £100 - I will be finding an alternative as I am fed up with being overcharged for a less and less reliable app that hangs/locks and wants me to download my activity logs (you can’t move forward without doing so) more and more frequently Shame on you Evernote team for destroying something that was originally so great … and congratulations on losing yourself another loyal subscriber who was a huge fan for many years 🤬

At one point was great, now just money grabbing. Shame as it was a great app.

Ruined their business model, adverts and overpriced

Ruined their business model, avoid. I've been using this app happily enough for over 5 years, few bugs but nothing major and decent UI.However they've introduced long ads every time you open the app, and the monthly subscription (which I would have considered if reasonable) is shockingly expensive. Absolutely not worth the money. Switching to another app asap.

Worst service ever

Worst service ever. They bombard you with ads and tons of screens to get through just to get to your account. It's absurd!!!

A good product ruined

Awful. Just truly awful. How to turn a good product that people enthused about, into something that is pretty much unusable. The latest iteration is not allowing you to access your notes unless you’ve watched a mind numbing ad. And once the ad has finished nothing happens and you have to shut the app down and login in again. A terrible experience, go elsewhere. Do not spend money on this nonsense product. I remember when YouTube was good as well.

Should change name to ‘Nevernote’

Should change name to ‘Nevernote’. They were amazing when they started out, but they’ve jacked up their prices through the ceiling and now they want me to pay $249/year for what they used to charge I think $35 when I started? I could literally get the same thing free on Google?I’m literally gonna have to export all my files and ditch Nevernote. It’s a shame, cause I really liked them and now I hate them ☹️ Thanks a lot Timothy Ferriss!!!

Evernote bugs as hell

Evernote bugs as hell. It doesn't open properly in browsers all the time, requires repeated logins regardless of how many times you save passwords.I pay for it, and for months I've been trying to solve the latest bug:It COMPLETELY changes formats from a simple notepad text, ignoring skipped lines, changing symbols over all the text.Suggested features (ctrl+shift+v) didn't solve my problem at all.Now my last ticket (#4351934) has been CLOSED without any reponse. I've lost the chance to migrate to Notion the last year, but this year I will certainly.Don't use this awful thing.

I've used Evernote for probably over 15 years. Once they were bought out by Bending Spoons their subscription price has skyrocketed. This coming year they quoted me ~$350 CDN a year. Absolutely ridiculous ! Fortunately I still had their legacy version of Evernote on my desktop computer and was is able to export their ENEX files, and import over 150 folders, and 5000 notes in Apple Notes. Took me two nights.Their web based app does not allow you to export files, I suspect that's their way of keeping people's data hostage. Adios Evernote !!

charged without logging in to account

I've used Evernote for about 15 years first on my BlackBerry, then on Windows and Android. It used to be great. As the app grew heavier and more complicated, syncing problems began when versions of notes on different platforms didn't match. But today a buddy asked me to pay for his subscription because he cannot pay out from Russia. So I chose a plan and entered my PayPal address only to find out that Evernote has charged me without logging in to the account. That's insane. Eventually, I figured that they've credited a random account I created weeks ago for testing purposes. But I never logged in to that account today. I didn't even had the app on my phone. They just assumed. Their official PayPal email for complaints doesn't work. This is a joke of a company. Every single app or service eventually becomes bad, especially after a buyout or going public.

I marked one start because I don’t have an option for zero star. Evernote cancelled my service prior to the due date Jan 22, 2026 and didn’t reimburse the difference.Since I can’t login there to speak with them (because my account has been cancelled) I am raising this over here and expecting for my reimbursement.

Aggressive with their pricing

Aggressive with their pricing. Too greedy. Plenty of note taking apps out there. Tried to raise the price to $240/yr.
