Went to South Tampa Store looking for a new refrigerator. There was one other customer in the store and 4-5 what I assumed were customer service reps. I checked out the refrigerator section for 15-20 minutes, walked back to the front of the store, was ignored, walked back to the refrigerator section - not a single person came to help me. I will not ever buy anything from Famous Tate.

I bought a new GE stove and refrigerator. I was told the delivery people were top notch as it was the final step in the sale process. Well they showed up 3 hours early without a call. No one spoke English. The stove was installed poorly as it rocks back and forth. I called the store multiple times and was told to expect a call back. Never got that call. I called again and was told they would schedule a call sometime in the future but just not then. I would get a notification the night before and another 3 hour window. I was also told I was expecting a lot since the delivery was free and now I wanted it corrected for free. They created the problem and should have fixed on an expedited basis. Truly crappy service.
We needed a new refrigerator. Famous Tate's had a new GE Monogram 48-inch, panel ready. Precisely what we sought. Their rep told us it had a $14,000 retail, and they were offering it at $8,000. He said it was a floor model. We bought it. It did not have its registration materials, so we called the store. They said, "No problem. We register all our products for you." Hooray, we thought. Well, three months later, the ice cream did not freeze. We call GE, and they told us the product was registered to someone else 15 months before we bought the refrigerator.Imagine our surprise. The company sold us a product they said was new. It was not. They said they registered it for us. They did not.This company is neither honest, nor reputable. We urge people to avoid them.
