6 Years Seller Account Restricted Without Clear Explanation – No Fair Human Review

I joined Fiverr in 2019. For six years, I worked professionally, delivered structured milestone-based projects, handled revisions responsibly, and paid 20% commission on every order. We accept this high commission believing the platform provides fairness and balanced protection. Recently, I experienced a situation that destroyed that trust. A client ordered a large project worth around $6,000, divided into milestones. Milestone 1 and Milestone 2 were completed successfully. The website was fully functional, live-tested, and aligned with the agreed scope. I provided unlimited revisions and ensured five-star quality delivery. The issue began when the client started demanding additional features outside the agreed scope without placing extra orders. I politely explained that extra work requires extra payment. After that, the client began applying pressure and directly threatened me — saying he would leave a one-star review, damage my profile, and report me to Fiverr to get my account disabled. Despite receiving a fully working website, he left a one-star review. I arranged a Zoom meeting and asked him clearly: if the website is complete and working properly, what justifies a one-star rating? I explained that if there were bugs or incomplete work, negative feedback would be understandable — but using ratings to force unpaid extra work is unfair. That conversation was recorded and later used against me. Instead of reviewing the full context, Fiverr issued me a violation. I then completed and delivered Milestone 3. The client kept sending vague revision requests without specifying real technical issues. At one point he even wrote “don’t scam me,” while the website was live and testable. I continued delivering professionally. After that, I received another violation claiming incomplete delivery — even though all milestones were completed, documented, and the live server link was shared. Then Fiverr issued a 60-day suspension notice stating my account would be permanently disabled. The situation escalated further: • Milestone 2 (already completed and paid) was reversed • Milestone 3 was cancelled • My account balance was placed in negative • My profile was disabled • My gigs were denied The two cancelled milestones were over $2,187 each, pushing my account into a significant negative balance. I opened multiple support tickets and provided detailed documentation, milestone breakdowns, and live website proof showing the work was 100% completed. Each time, my tickets were closed with “decision final” responses without transparent explanation or meaningful investigation. As sellers, we cannot respond strongly to threats without receiving violations. Yet when a client pressures, threatens, leaves damaging reviews, repeatedly contacts support, and attempts refunds after completed work, meaningful seller protection feels absent. Buyers pay around 5%. Sellers pay 20%. Yet in my experience, protection did not feel balanced. I was penalized for delivering completed work. Completed milestones were cancelled. My balance was made negative. My six-year profile was disabled. For full transparency: I have complete documentation, milestone records, and a live website proving the project was completed. I am fully prepared to provide all evidence if a fair review is conducted. I am simply asking for justice — restoration of my profile if possible, and release of funds for completed work. Six years of dedication ended without transparent communication. A marketplace built on professionals should protect them with the same seriousness that it charges them. I hope Fiverr improves its dispute handling and seller protection policies — because trust requires accountability on both sides.

SELLERS - RUN!!

As an individual seller on this platform for many years, I have to say that my appreciation of it has never gone up, but instead gone down. We are treated like slaves. They introduce systems to trample upon us at every turn, like the success score! They introduce new ways of eating into our income; for example, if you use the Seller's Plus program and happen to upgrade to Premium, they charge you extra money on top of the Premium cost! In order to get seen, you have to pay for ads, and they won't show your gigs to enough people to cover the costs of this! Additionally they take 20% of your earnings. So, any sellers thinking of joining, please rather go with the other freelancer sites. This company doesn't care about us at all.

Banned for no reason, ignored by support – your fees don't buy you any consideration

I got banned simply for asking several freelancers whether they could build a WordPress website. Apparently, comparing skills before placing an order is a violation on Fiverr. I checked their terms of service thoroughly: nothing prohibits this. But the worst part is what followed. I contacted support to understand why. They replied with a generic copy-paste response that didn't even match my situation. I corrected them and explained. Then, nothing. Weeks of silence. Until one day, they simply told me they were closing my ticket and suggested I look for answers in their FAQ. No apology, no explanation, no accountability whatsoever. Fiverr has no problem collecting its fees on every transaction. But being accountable to the people who keep the platform running? That's clearly not part of the service. Users are disposable: they'll ban you whenever it suits them, and if you dare ask why, they'll ignore you until you give up. Stay away if you want to be treated as anything more than a number.

This platform is too much biased towards customers only. If a buyer even did a scam with a seller, and we give all the proofs to Fiverr support. Still Fiverr will always give favor to buyers only.

Wasted hours creating content to post on their site only to be told that I was blocked as a user because my IP address had previously been flagged. Checked every major domain checker and there was NOTHING logged against my IP address. Contacted Fiverr and they refused to even consider investigating the issue. Pressed them to escalate to a supervisor, who said the same thing, "Nothing we can do". AVOID wasting your time on this platform.

Fiverr Profits from Freelancers' Hopes with Clunky Platform & No Refunds

I tried Fiverr as a video editor seeking extra income, but it's a waste of time and money. The "Pro" subscription (15€) gave zero value—no clients, no impressions in a saturated market. Canceling is buried in obscure menus; good luck finding it without frustration. Key issues: Fake promises: Pushes "get rich freelancing" webinars and subs, but top gigs have 200+ reviews yet low earnings. It's oversaturated with cheap competition. No refunds: 48-hour policy is strict, even for unused subs. Clunky UX: Menus are a maze; subscriptions auto-renew sneakily. Fiverr makes millions from desperate hustlers while delivering little. On top of that your inbox will be FILLED with scammers trying to send you phishing links. Avoid unless you love paywalls. 1/5 stars.

Scammed but helped out.

I love this website. I have worked with some legit freelancers and to be honest I think people come here to get things cheap, but that being they do not do enough to check for scammers. BUT... I went full scorched earth on their AI chat bot and I got my money back. So I am totally keen to keep doing business with them. Look for channels that new, with no reviews, look for all that. But either way. I was terrible and they gave my money back. We are good now. I am going to keep using Fiverr.

Absolutely appalling treatment by this…

Absolutely appalling treatment by this lot. I registered to find an illustrator for a children’s book. Found one and then we started to communicate about the project. All of a sudden I was blocked from logging in. This was within hours of registering. I then got a rather terse email saying my account was suspended for a serious breach of something or other. It was clearly an error of some kind as all I’d done is message some bloke about the cost of illustrating a book. It was almost impossible to find a contact to sort out the issue and when I finally did all they sent me was the same email telling me I’d breached something or other. I sent an email explaining that there must have been some sort of mistake but they have now ignored me completely. Shocking way to treat someone.

fraud on Fiverr

I hired an artist to provide illustrations for my card game. I was specific that there was not to be any AI used. I later found out the images were AI generated. I went to Fiverr to get a refund of the $900 I spent. They refused to give me my money back and suspended my account when I finally did a charge back. Don't trust this company

Caution is Recommended

-The platform contains a lot of people offering gigs with pure AI that anybody can generate. Be careful. -Now the platform should prohibit the sellers from contacting the customers about their left reviews and make it a clear policy. After leaving 4 stars (which was generous) I was contacted by a seller about it!! -The platform is sending to much pushy emails and notifications. I wish this were less. I will have to mark their email as spam urging me to leave review to the seller. -The feedback/evaluations of seller profiles should be taken carefully. Are they all true? -Their fees are high and the UI is not intuitive. Hiding a lot under the 'dispute' feature. -A canceled project, does not get paid back to your cc, it remains in the website account and takes 10 days to be refunded, seriously?

I was scammed out of £178 after trying to link my bank account to receive payments. I was contacted by someone pretending to be customer support who guided me through adding my bank card details. After I realized it was fraudulent and confronted them, they became abusive. Please be very careful—there seem to be many scammers using fake support accounts.

Fiverr supports buyer abuse and ignores professional ethics

As a veteran seller with a high rating, I am appalled by Fiverr’s recent handling of a clear-cut case of buyer harassment. A client confirmed a consultation time in writing ("9 PM my time"), then failed to show up. Not only did they waste my professional time, but they also sent abusive messages, literally stating: "I don’t care that you wasted your time." Despite having the recorded Zoom session proving I was present and screenshots of the buyer's admission of bad faith, Fiverr Support (specifically Supervisors Jared and Marlon) chose to refund the buyer. Their excuse? I didn't have a "no-show policy" explicitly written in my gig description—as if basic professional ethics and written agreements in chat don't count on this platform. Fiverr is effectively rewarding toxic behavior and financial theft of sellers' time. I have already escalated this to the AGCM (Italian Antitrust Authority) and AGCOM for unfair commercial practices and lack of seller protection. If you are a professional who values your time, be warned: Fiverr does not have your back, even when you provide 100% proof of abuse.

It felt like a scam to me

It felt like a scam to me. I set up a profile to offer my music freelancing service on Fiverr. I received an email from Fiverr about a potential client messaging me, and well it seems it is a page on official website, I clicked on the page and it's about receiving funds that the client claimed to have paid, and then I was asked for my card detail for supposed verification process, and then the verification just took away £500 from me! I need a refund ASAP!!

Avoid fivver .lots of scammers

Avoid fivver. There are many scammers trying to make a quick buck. I was lied to , my work was never completed, though I was very specific. My experience with the “freelancer “ was never completed . The “freelancer “ was not able to do the work and had no knowledge of how to complete the project they were hired to do. Dealing with customer service is a nightmare. They make promises to cancel and then refuse to cancel the incomplete weeks late project . I have spent more time trying to remedy this than I would have by just doing the project myself.
